just finished reeding it it was a powerful book it made my heart melt it made me giggle and it made me feel better beacuse i had broken my collar bone 2 days before i started to read it
@ravenhall11 I chose to do this book for my class as well. My grandfather who I never met had ALS and died in 1986 at the age of 54, but both of the two had similar minds and well I connected with the story. FANTASTIC memoir and I was moved. I even cried at the end.
I read the book today. It's ironic that this book was a class assignment atth this time of my life. I am middle aged and have been obsessing over the thought that my life is half over and that someday I will leave my children. This book has really helped me in a way. I have to accept it and live! Thank you Morrie, you have touched another life.
I love this book... <3 Seriously, so inspirational. I've seen the play, DID the play for my Duo Interp in Forensics, read the book-- and cried all three times, genuinely, when I did all those three. He truly is amazing.
Such an incredible and movie story. Started reading it this morning and just finished, it was THAT good. He is such an amazing spirit. Rest in peace Morrie!
i found Tuesdays with Morrie at a friends house just yesterday and just finished 5 minutes ago. In the book there is a quote that summarises this mans life. " A teacher affects eternity; he can never tell where his influence stops. " - Henry Adams
i just finished the book, it touched me on a whole new level. i dont even know this man but i love him. great book, good advice, and great man.. i wish he didnt have to go from muscle degeneration.. sad..
i just read "tuesdays with morrie" and i'm still speechless. i'm kinda going through a shitty time the last couple of months and i feel like this story is going to help me. i'm so thankful that i had the chance to read this book &his story. although i'm aware of how lucky we actually are, and although i do appreciate the good things - sometimes we kinda forget. or it's not enough. morrie really impressed me.
it made me cry in the end. it's beyond words. thank you morrie! and thank you mitch!
This book seriously changed my view life. It's the only book I have actually enjoyed reading and did not want it to end. I wish I could have met Morrie, but at the end of the book I really felt like I had lost someone I knew. Like a family member or a loved one even though I never met him. And the picture of Morrie in the front of the book of him dancing is the exact way I build the character of him in my head as I was reading this story. I which I could see things the way he did.
I am currently reading this book, and I have to say it so so phenomenally amazing. It shows you that you really don't need any materialistic things to make you happy because in the end, you don't ever think about them, but instead experience you had with whomever you shared it with. It's really hoped my eyes to everything around me.
@waders317 I bawled as I read this book. My mom gave me "Tuesdays with Morrie" after my grandpa, her father, was diagnosed with ALS. She had read the book and suggested I read it, but I did not want to at the time, because I felt that it would make me more depressed about my grandpa. I finally read the book in high school, last year, in my senior English class. It hit me very hard, because Morrie reminded me of my grandpa a lot. I adore Morrie for sharing his lessons with us. I Love my grandpa.
i read the book by Mitch Albom in my english honors class last year, and we went through it thoroughly, i hate reading but this is my favorite book of all time, and i would have loved to have known Morrie.

only book that has ever made me cry
thank you Morrie for being such and insightful man rip
When I first got Tuesdays with Morrie, I first thought that this book is going to bore me. I was totally wrong. This book is so inspiring, it teaches us the way to live. I could not stop crying when I read the chapter where Mitch kissed and said goodbye to Morrie. Thank you so much, Morrie. You are a great teacher, thousands of millions of people have become your student. I'll never forget your motto. RIP, Morrie.
i just finished reading the book and it touched me a lot. It made me realize that i take so much things for granted. Being a 16 year old, reading his story helped me to value my life.
I just read the book "Tuesdays with Morrie" and the old man in this video matches the person I pictured in my head:) Loved the book. Love his philosphy about life.

If only Mitch could have just had his conversations with Morrie and left well enough alone. But no, he had to exploit the death of a garden-variety buzzard in order to make a bestselling tome of pap, shmaltz, and cloying prose. The triteness of Morrie's cliche philosophies are proof perfect that he was stoned on pankillers and herbal tea throughout the whole endeavor.
@SparklingMarshall I really don't think that you have read the book. Mitch Albom did not exploit Morrie Shwartz. Morrie was like this his whole life. His spirit did not leave him during his journey. fucking mother dadder, if you're a shit person you can't say this honorable man something like that, it "tuesdays with morrie" is a popular book its because the lesson of this great man
One of my grandparents died of this disease.... but he didn't last this long :( it sad seeing people reach this stage of life... but regardless morrie is a good guy
Rest in Peace Morrie Schwartz. It's been 14 years, and your inspirational words and loving kindness still lives on. Thank for you for being such an impact to my life with your wisdom even though I did not know you personally. Rest in Peace.
Morrie Schwarts was a great man he truley knew what thse aphorisms ment and used them in his life and if you think he is an average lod man then you should go f you rself with a knife
Indeed. He was a brilliant man who, despite his hardships in childhood (read the book "Tuesdays with Morrie" if you don't know what I mean), was an absolute genius. I mean, here he was, dying from ALS, and what does he do? He made the best of it, by accepting his death for what it is and teaching others about death. If more people were like Morrie, maybe the world could be a better place. Who knows?
why is everyone putting this old man on a podium?? His lessons are common sense and you can find them in a comic strip. He's been dead 15 yrs. already.
To start off, Id love to point out the irony of your username that youve chosen, as weve just compiled your comment as part of a class discussion. Not really to figure out what your insurance premium is or anything, but compiling and adding it as a statistic counts somewhat. Do you realize that when you put something on the internet, even my comment here, anyone can read it and use it against you? Consider my Modern Novels class, which is reading Tuesdays with Morrie.
Are you reading that book? Somehow I doubt you are. I mean, if you had bothered to pick up the measly near 200 page book and read just a part of it, you would get why so many people put Morrie on a pedestal. (That word isnt too hard to spell, now is it?) Well, since Im assuming you havent, because gosh if something has been around for 15 (actually its 14) years we should just forget about it already and move on, heres why people are still listening to a dead guy.
It is the most inspirational piece Ive ever read or heard about. Its the story weve heard a dozen times on the Lifetime channel movies, yet it happened in real life to a real college professor. And hes not the perfect man either - he feels sorry for himself, he mourns, he gets angry at life, and despite it all people still listen to what he had to say to the world.
So, while we were discussing your asinine comment in class, actuary, there were a couple of comments from students I just would like you to know, as a class whole. Feel free to answer the questions if youd like, or completely ignore me, insult me by calling me names - the whole spiel.
-What gender are you? -Youre a jerk and you need a life. -Correction, hes wrong, its 14 years. -Its not a podium - was pedestal too hard to spell or something? Couldnt open up a new tab and type it in google for spell check? I mean, come on, really? -Comic strips are older than 15' years old and yet people still read them. Besides, Tuesdays with Morrie will go down as a classic in literature with lessons that apply to all.
-Have you even read the book? -Are you saying that he wasnt good enough for you to be remembered and who are you to say he wasnt or that others shouldnt remember him? -Who honestly gives a crap about the time thats past because what Morrie went through was important life lessons, not just common sense that everyone goes through. People study history and thats been around since forever.
-If youre going to put something out there for public use, be warned that ANYONE can read it, so you better at least sound smart so a classroom of kids dont make you seem like an idiot. -What a jerk. He needs to get a life. -I bet you're just jealous of Morrie because he's someone you can never be.
And I know I dont have one, so dont even bother buddy. ~Salimity
I've read Tuesdays with Morrie two times. Both times, it changed my life, as well as my view on life. Both times, it made me cry (and I can proudly say that, mind you). The first time, I was at home. The second time, I was on a public bus.
Morrie Schwartz, truly a teacher to the last. RIP.
i had heard of this book, but never got to read it...after my dad passed away recently, I was going through my dad's many many books, i found "tuesday's with morrie" written by my dad in the front of another book. i felt like i had to go buy this..i just got done reading it and WOW... it was sad and comforting at the same time..it was as if daddy wanted me to read this book, i think he just never got the chance. this book is def a must read for all.

Rest in Peace Morrie Schwartz. It's been 14 years, and your inspirational words and loving kindness still lives on. Thank for you for being such an impact to my life with your wisdom even though I did not know you personally. Rest in Peace.

Morrie Schwarts was a great man he truley knew what thse aphorisms ment and used them in his life and if you think he is an average lod man then you should go f you rself with a knife
loverboi1f 2 years ago

SalimityLegendz 2 years ago
It is the most inspirational piece Ive ever read or heard about. Its the story weve heard a dozen times on the Lifetime channel movies, yet it happened in real life to a real college professor. And hes not the perfect man either - he feels sorry for himself, he mourns, he gets angry at life, and despite it all people still listen to what he had to say to the world.
SalimityLegendz 2 years ago

SalimityLegendz 2 years ago
-Have you even read the book? -Are you saying that he wasnt good enough for you to be remembered and who are you to say he wasnt or that others shouldnt remember him? -Who honestly gives a crap about the time thats past because what Morrie went through was important life lessons, not just common sense that everyone goes through. People study history and thats been around since forever.
SalimityLegendz 2 years ago

RIP.
