  • wow

  • I am sorry to inform people, but Ninjitsu is NOT a martial art, if you want proof check out ...........TSOAS2008.

  • Okay, people who are leaving nasty comments about the people in the video saying "you have your facts WRONG and you suck" (basically that is what you're saying.) Don't blame the people who are in the video, because as far as they know it is correct, blame the people who taught them befor hand. The person who instructed their instructor and such had his facts wrong and he completely ruined them, so it's not their faults.

  • buy a gun

  • who cares? aslong as they are happy and satisfied with their program who are any of you to judge thats is not real ninjitsu or whatever, get a life

  • 00:38 HAHAHHHHHHHAHAHHHA

my sister could catch that punch

  • i dont think the ancient ninjas fought like that. My boxing skills can easy damage this boyz, and i have knowledge in the traditional chinese kung fu southern , no that fashion stuff called Nan Quan , im talking of Zhen Kung fu from Taishan , Guangzhou(Wong Yi Man Zhong Guo Nan Pai Wushu Zong Guan (黄宇文中国南派武术總館 ) . Real shinobis died long time ago

anyways its not about styles, man make the difference

  • WTH is the weapon at the end? O.o Its like some kind of super long detachable walking cane.

  • Honestly you guys talking about "ninjatos" are all complete morons! The proper name for a " ninja sword" is "shinobigatana" and the proper term for a male practitioner of this martial art is "shinobi" the female term is "kuniochi" if you have an interest in something know your facts before publicly disgracing yourselves!

  • Could u imagine the cops using this, we'd all be fucked

  • a ninjato is stright not curved like a katana as it is designed to be functional not pleasing to the eye and was made using a cruder technique than how a katana was mastercrafted and was usualy made with cruder matireals aswell

  • @Tovash ninjatos were just made to be swifter and more effective than a katana, its effective for slicing and stabbing

  • @guitarjunkee32

"ninjatos were just made to be swifter and more effective than a katana,"

    O RLY???

here i was... holding out for some to ACTUALLY HAVE ONE...

see the ninjato is a FANTASY WEAPON... it never actually existed...

" its effective for slicing and stabbing"

in your dreams... because thats the only place you will EVER find one...

  • THIS CLASS IS LIES ninja cant be seen

  • my dad took ninjutsu and when he stopped taking it he he already had a green belt and was fixing to be a black belt he is the best martial artist i know and i know a lot of martial artist he could probaly beat any one in a fight to the death he can punch a hole in a whole from 1 inch away from it with out pulling his arm back he says you have to use your hole body

  • That "feeling" is called the sixth sense, everyone has it. But not everyong knows how to harness its true potential like the ninja.

  • Ninjutsu is not a Marital art!! its a Way of Life.. Untill you realize this Your Nothing but a Bunch Of wannabe's... Train Under Masaaki-Hatsumi Then! you will have room to Talk.

  • @ReBootLord Actually, there are several designated Martialarts in the world, Ninjutsu has been Designated as one of them, so yes. It may be a way of life, but it is also a martial art.

  • People Say you cant Modernize it.. Well you have to. because everything around you is changing and True Ninja Adapt to their surroundings. as Ur surroundings are changing Everyday. Use and Learn the Ancient Techniques & apply them to todays combat situations. common Sense also needs to be Taken in consideration aka (feeling). The sword is no different From any others. Its Longer than a Wakizashi and Shorter than a regular Katana.& Combat Is the Least Important Skill Ninja Posses-Masaaki Hatsumi

  • WERES ROCK LEE

  • who's the faqin trainer :D

    looks like ballet dancer

  • genbukan ninjutsu rules over this :D

  • ALL MARTIAL ARTS IS IN ONE WAY OR ANOTHER CONNECTED TO CHINA AND THE OREINTALS...

  • @asian714cali what about pankration, ringem am schwert, pyhhric war dance, zulu stick fighting etc, not everythng comes from china

  • @scottbaioisdead no shit im aware of those martial art but im so not going to name every single martial arts so im saying it overall also i dont consider any african or latino martial arts real martial arts but i do consider as a fighitng technique but i dont like to call it martial arts..real martial arts is mainly the oriental martial arts or oriental related martial arts and pankration i dont like that either fuk greece XD but yeah pankration i might give credit to for being one of the oldest

  • @asian714cali you said all martial arts come from china and i proved they dont, chinese martial arts are from india and mongolia anyway

  • @scottbaioisdead and they have found sculpture of martial arts and scroll of martial arts pratice in china wayy before india came to china and wayy before greece had it

  • @scottbaioisdead so this is my proof for you... do you RESEACH AND BUY BOOKS before you tel me anything abou martyial arts...

  • @scottbaioisdead again you are a fuking idiot do your history you dumbass and i aint goiong to tel you the whole history but if you look at other of the comment i post on other video of martial arts.. you wil see i know thosse bull shit already..and you would also know that china have record of praticing martial arts way before bodhidharma the indian monk came to the shaolin temple to GIVE THE IDEA OF SELF DEFENCE TO THE MONK NOT TEACH and the rest was created on their own which is shaolin kung

  • @asian714cali yes there were martial arts in china before shaolin but the oldest recorded martial arts are systemized techniques over 6000 years old from beni hassan egypt. You might want to learn who I am before you bring up books and history

  • @scottbaioisdead well re-learn your shit befor you try to make othe race look better then us oriental becuz they not but kalaripayattu is the oldest recorded martial arts way before pankration(despite some WHITE nationlist theory)but they have sculpture of chinese praticing martial arts way before...

  • @asian714cali well for one kalari isn't as old as egyptian martial arts but since you want to be a racist indians are white, they're caucasoid, chinese are mongoloid. Totally different races, little boy I've trained since well before you were born and I know history much better than you

  • @scottbaioisdead i know they arent as old as egyptian...they are older..and if not it wouldnt matter becuase like i said before china have been fround with scroll and sculpture of them chinese praticing martial arts way back before kalari but it wasnt recorded..and i dont care how long you have train just make sure u know your fact before telling me anything..becuz you are obviously mislead..or your fact is outdated and btw research them now as you try to back up your agument

  • @asian714cali ok so there's paper that's older than something that predates paper. Brilliant, its amazing someone like you claiming racism is the racist one. Keep hating on white people it really shows you're intellect

  • @scottbaioisdead hehe?i didnt say anything about paper..fyi paper is started in china to in the 2nd century bc. but yeah what i meant is that they have found paper of them praticing martial arts way before india and scroll indicating the story of ancient martial arts as well but i dint say the scroll was from 2698 bce or before which was hinted when china first started their martial arts pratice more seriously as well as putting them in story and it also it wasnt recorded as a form either ..

  • @scottbaioisdead and stop trying to loook like you arent trying to be biased or stop trying to act like im the bad guy here and as well dont even attempt to deny the fact that in some way or another you try to make some oreintal such as chinese not look as great as they are because most of the invention you see today is thanks to the invention of china in the past withou china and us oriental technology would advance as fast or at all..and as you can see we still prove to "best" and smartest

  • @asian714cali "and as you can see we still prove to "best" and smartest" wow you are a racist fuck. any scholar will tell you martial arts started where man started, africa. egypt, the middle east, have the oldest records of martial arts anywhere. your chinese sources state a martial art existed 2265 bc, thats nice, fake korean sources say their martial arts existed 100,000 years ago. we have actual sources in egypt that show the actual systemized techniques. i have no time for racists

  • @scottbaioisdead right.. well prove your shit and give me the oldest martial arts recorded..and i can back it up with the oldest one in chian and we wil see who is right...

  • @scottbaioisdead and.. another thing do your research and stop denying the truth about where martial came from becuase the truth is that the oldest is from china and therefore it must originated in china..dont even try to change subject either because i know as soon as you try to make yourself sound right you will start bullshiting on other stuff related to oriental...but it my theory on how most people including some oreintal works..jealous of the "best" in term as contribution and etc..

  • @scottbaioisdead therefore china is the oldest

  • @scottbaioisdead re do your sfuking research,do survey and read books or something...before you attempt to be a martial arts history dude..

  • @scottbaioisdead so they didnt know which form of martial arts they use but they did put story about it and pratice of it on sculpture around 2968 bce old of chinese praticing it as well as indication of older martial arts before the yellow emperoro and 2968 bce as well..but yeah..know your shit..and i wasnt being rascist unless you are offend by me using the word white..then you are the one who is stupid...and im pretty sure in my opinon that non-oriental envy and is jealous of oreintal

  • @BristanKeller1 yes, i heard from my sensei that he is ok

  • a fuckin hate crime happened at the end of that video lol

  • At 2:36, he says they're learning pratical techniques for everyday situations that might happen. at 2:37 is a guy with a ninja sword trying to chop someones head off. Guess Japan really is rough.

  • i make it in spain !

    i love it !

    its good 4 you life

  • i dont doubt the bujinkan but there IS a few schools ive seen that pretty much role play pretending to be ninjas all dressed up and not seriously using the techniques and training to fight properly to survive....

  • Japanese ninja to Twitter

    ttp://twitter.com/#!/Ninja_apprentic

  • I can't take all of the choreographed fighting. Sound fighting requires good technique regardless of what martial art you use. But a good fight can really be ugly. Just look at the MMA fighters. What I've noticed is that if you have good ground fighting skills (wrestling, jujitsu) and good striking skills (mui thai, boxing) you have a good chance of kicking anyone's ass.

  • @TheRenegadeAssassin yes because no one had heard of fighting on the ground before the early 1900s when bjj was invented...

  • @scottbaioisdead YEAH BUT BJJ IS STILL JAPNESE..IF IT WERENT FOR THE TEACHING OF JUDO BY MAEDA TO THE GRACIES THEIR WOULD BE NO BJJ AND ALSO THE GRACIES WENT TO JAPAN FOR A BIT TO LEARN ABIT MORE ABOUT JUJUITSU BEFORE PERFECTING THEIR ADAPTATION OF BJJ FROM JUDO WHICH HELIOS CREATED BECUZ HE COULDNT DO SOME OF THE JUDO MOVES

  • @TheRenegadeAssassin Mhm.. That is half true. Boxers or thai boxers take positions which leave their groin open for a groin attack, usually don't watch their knees. Ground fighters usually leave their balls open to a clench, and their eyes to an attack, not even speaking of a clenching with "claws" involved. I love mma and practice it, but when I wanna get serious, I rather pick Ninjutsu.

MMA is a bit like a soft way to fight imo, and most MMA stars kind of admitted it (Rutten or Silva i.e)

  • @Fitz972 I respect your opinion. But I didn't get the "MMA is a bit like a soft way to fight" thing. It's mix martial arts. I you take someone who solely uses one form of martial arts and match him up against someone who has trained in a variety of martial arts I'm willing to bet what I don't have that the guy using various techniques is going to win. MMA fighting is a prime example of that. You never see someone using only one form of martial arts. Good defense, striking and ground fighting

  • @TheRenegadeAssassin Maybe soft wasn't the best term. The term "loyal" should be, cause MMA is loyal when street fighting isn't, this is why I practice two instead of one. Then again, I agree on one thing, you have to be good in everything, not just striking or grappling. However, at the origins, martial arts weren't divided and incorporated every aspect of combat. Tis why I was able to handle myself a bit when I started MMA, even if the MMA fighters were better than me, and still are for most.

  • @Fitz972 Thumbs up to you.

  • its kinda funny people are like thats not true ninjutsu haaha ninjutsu uses whats effective .................. very good vid:)

  • Bujinkan still hasn't been accepted by the Japanese martial arts council as a traditional art because they have no proof of their lineage. The Japanese are notorious for recording everything, especially teachings. Most of Bujinkan teachings are bastardized versions of traditional arts. If you want to see REAL ninjas, check out the Koga or Iga ninja museum, thos guys are the real deal.

    Bujinkan = baka gaijin

  • @smartas5 haha you mean the ones that are considered tourist attractions using straight swords and contain no real historical ninja items? the ones that practice kung fu and filipino martial arts and call it ninjutsu?

  • how old do u have to be to take lessons in ninjutsu? is there a certain age?

  • What is the name of that sword? is smaller than a ninjato.

    answer me in private message.

  • @CursorEater I am not sure its either a kodachi, wakezashi, or tanto you are referring to. But I will need to check, and get back to you. If you can find out, then please let me know also. Thanks!

  • @shinobiryukenden it is wakezashi, kodachi is 2 wakezashi's

  • @sasutex no kodachi means small tachi, wakizashi means a sword worn peripherally to the main sword. don't use rurouni kenshi as a historical source please.

  • @shinobiryukenden I will search on the web ;)

  • @shinobiryukenden I will search on the web ;)

  • @CursorEater it's a ninjato.

  • @CursorEater its a tonto blade, wakezashi's are little jack like spikes you throw

  • @dsmyly no wakizashi are swords worn peripherally to the main sword, thrown blades are shuriken, and tonto was the lone rangers indian friend.

  • @scottbaioisdead Damn Dean! You crack me up! Lol @tanto!

  • @CursorEater might be a ko-katana?

  • @CursorEater it may be shirasaya.

  • @CursorEater there is no such thing as a ninjato that is an improper name given to a wakezashi and the weapon is an over sized Tanto

  • what weapon does he uses at his last attack

  • @jmk2990 which the shikomizue or the tanto?

  • @scottbaioisdead I dunno, I was asking, how do I know the name?

  • 3:19 Fail

  • According to Naruto.

Ninjutsu is using chakra and hand signs

  • che stronzoni!"!

  • chuck norris is faggot real men is justin bieber he 's soo cute and strong -.-

  • I don´t know about the instructor, but hs students REALLY need to know how to attack properly, most of them are just swinging out their hand.

  • I have heard from some people that train in Ninjutsu arts that it i not a martial art. My question is that if it is not a sport why did they take on the dan rank system. Dr. Kano (of Judo fame) used the belt system to make Jujustu a sport then a battlefield art. And after the Shogunate time period ended the samurai and shogun and ninja were a thing of the past. Just because one trains in the samurai arts it will not make one a samurai, it is not about training but culture and history. Osu

  • @1banryukyu kano used the dan-i system because he had so many students. it was too hard to know every person's rank

  • @scottbaioisdead Sir thank you for your reply. I am sorry I did not make myself clear, what I was asking is why does Ninjutsu (now) have the dan & kyu ranking system from Dr Kano's Judo system? And when did Ninjutsu adopt the Dan & Kyu ranking system? The Okinawans adopted the Dan &Kyu system to Japanize the Ryukyuan Te arts so that the Naijin would accept their art. It had only been around 40 years that Okinawa was a Ken (prefecture) and they were not seen as true Japanese at that time.

  • @1banryukyu lots of arts use dan-i but the bujinkan also uses menkyo, but gaijin don't get them. the dan-i system is better for arts with large numbers of members

  • racist he had to kill the blk guy..

  • damn....i love ninjutsu.....i hope to have the chance to go in Japan to train with real ninjutsu masters and fighters.....if i manage to take the black zone.........someday............!

  • ale kurwa, murzyna na końcu nieźle zajebał.

  • Yall so judgemental this is the ultimate art do try to argue with my about take to fight science they said it .well it is real deadly to me cause the ninjas kilt alot of people fast with the bare hands.

  • @inBFMV

Each one of the hairs in Chuck Norris' beard is actually a ninja.

  • @inBFMV yes they can hince bruce lee was ninja ahahaha

  • See, that's why I like Nin-jutsu. It breaks away from the complexity and 'holywood' of martial arts; the necessity of: 1. ultra fast or ultra high kicks (I'm not a very good kicker, lacking leg flexion), 2. a razor sharp sword (expensive), and 3. a ninja suit.

I like 'true' ninjutsu, as depicted in your video, and on Fight Science, because it takes the 'hype and stereotype' out of ninjas; and makes it look tangible.

That make the average joe less intimidated to learn the art.

    Good job

  • I want to learn Ninjutsu and become like Bruce Wayne =)

  • burtenboy - feel free to come to israel and say that at the randori.. we'll be glad to meet you.

  • Ninjutsu is crap

  • @Burletonboy why do you feel that way?

  • @shinobiryukenden 'the feeling' ? come on its a bit farfeched to me. and you dont always have a weapon on you. it looks fun but not a good self defence style to me

  • @Burletonboy I am sorry for the immature comments made at you. Please disregard, and hope I can answer your objections. There is a feeling in any martial art you study, and yes it is not the only thing. Maybe this video did not express what that feeling is, or is meant by it. Also unless you are completely nude, you always have a weapon on you. it could be as simple as your shoes, or belt. Whatever you can manage to grab in your environment is a weapon. The dirt on the ground, or a chair...

  • @shinobiryukenden lol they some people on here say stupid things. and yh i never thort of it that way thanks

  • It is fun, and hard work. Maybe not a style for you, and that is ok. Different people have different styles. As far as being effective, it most certainly is. Maybe not seen from this video, but from the actual training in a dojo covering many topics, as classical and modern fighting. When training in Jissen Gata for example it is much more combative and realistic. The reason why so many law enforcement and military train in this martial art.

  • @Burletonboy You sir don't know what you are talking about. We had sparring last day in my dojo. A big heavy weighted dude that practice mma and krav maga. He lost. Feeling how it works, it is real. First time I went to the dojo, I was there to watch. The Shidoshi looked at me and said "You don't watch in here. You got to feel it. Get in the room, we'll practice". best thing I ever did.

  • @Burletonboy Your mom is crap dipshit.

  • @Burletonboy wow no its not

  • @Burletonboy -chek yourself. Ninjutsu is NOT crap. Chek out Fight Science. Ninjutsu is not simply the 'guy in black, with the flips, and kill all with round-house kick!' stereo-type, though some do wear blak and are gymnastic.

Real Ninja art is learnable. A real hystoric Ninja wore blue @ nite, and dressed like a commoner @ daytime. Tho the Shinobi Arts, in full, were said to push it's students to breaking points, learning it could kill u. say it's crap to a real ninja, see wat happens

  • @vex4o im not putting down nijutsu, just wanted to say that fight science is crap. I wouldnt suggest getting any info from there...

  • @Burletonboy.u are sucker

  • @Kinzo999 you are A sucker* dude if ur gunna call me a sucker do it right lol

  • @Burletonboy ,ok...suckerXD

  • @Burletonboy nooooooo, but this ninjutsu is crap

  • @ninjutsuHH What do you mean? I am confused, you are also a Bujinkan instructor?

  • samurai???? white people no racist

  • @kouxiongpeterhawj Yes many foreigners living in Japan and learning directly from the Japanese. Very important to learn the Japanese culture, and language to understand the Samurai and Ninja mindset, and philosophy. If you live in Japan for a couple of years with a Japanese family, it is possible to get a very good education in Japanese culture.

  • Did the ninja's actually wear those masks? or is that a modern addition?

  • Not good! The all of the uke are not showing intentions! Bujinkan is a great Martial Art, but with this kind of vid. its called: the Art of stretching the Arm ... You should think twice before you show such a clip on the net!

  • The narrator keeps saying ninja's , do members of the Bujinkan actually say that? I've heard of Hatsumi Sensei/soke being called the last living ninja but is it proper to refer to a ninjutsu student as a ninja. If the Bujinkan does not teach all apects of togakurem is it still ninjutsu? I have heard there are certian aspects of the togqkure that Hatsumi does not teach. Maybe for dvanced students get it. Just trying to understand how it is thought of in today's world.

    Thanks

    REI

  • The student not attack fast and no stamina in your techniques, ninjutsu is god but your feeling ....

  • I'm starting ninjutsu. I have a dojo conveniently located 5 minutes away from my house. ;)

  • @Gabumon54321 That is great news! I hope you enjoy the classes. Be sure to stay in touch if you need any advice. We are here to support Ninjutsu practitioners from all over the world. I hope you are enjoying the LIVE Broadcasts from our dojo from our main BJK Ninja website under the LIVE section. We will be LIVE tonight again.

  • @Gabumon54321 ohh ur so lucky!! id love to train it but the only one near is too far for me :(

  • @boys46 Too bad. :/ I've had 4 classes so far and I can't wait till the next class. It's very fun, and I especially like the black Gi. ;)

  • This was a great clip on Ninjutsu. The "feeling" is what it is all about. keep up the great work!

  • I have a question too. Can you start the way of the ninja in Finland? =)

  • @Rvd936 Sure you can, have you looked for a local dojo? if not make sure you checkout bjkninja website.

  • What is this, an advertisement?

  • ninjutsu is serious fucking business

  • what about germany... i am a us soldier that could benefit from this kind of training... i think ninjutsu focuses more on stealth and deafeating a common enemy then being the best in competitions... its survival training...

  • @Floptheclown I believe there are Bujinkan Dojos in Germany. There was an instructor who used to be stationed in Germany also, in the US Airforce. We are also trying to make online training available as a supplement to physical dojo training. Many US Military train in Bujinkan, and usually find there way to Honbu dojo in Japan to train. I will get back to you if I can find a dojo in Germany. You should stay in touch by visiting our site on bjkninja.

  • @Floptheclown .I think its one of the best martial arts to learn for someone with a background in the military

  • i startet my training when i was 14 years old, im 15 today, and still in practise.

  • I would like to learn the way of the ninja... But I don't know where i can find such a place that would teach me in Miami, Fl

  • @TheYOUNGtrizzy I am not sure where in Miami, we are about to set up an online course if you are interested. Also there is an instructor in Coral Springs, if you are able to drive there from Miami. His name his Luis Acosta, his youtube channel is bujinkanmartialarts.

  • @shinobiryukenden i have 3 questions:

    1. What age can you start the way of the ninja?

    2. What is the web adress for the "online lessons"

    3. Is there any Ninjutsu dojo's in england (preferabley close to Northamptonshire area, if not then oh well, im dedicated to learning martial arts)

  • @LeprechaunBoi

    1. Usually 16 or older

    2. BJK Ninja In The Dojo (youtube blocks links.)

    3. Several in the UK, not sure where as we are in the US.

Look for Peter King Shihan, Norm Smithers Shihan, and others in UK.

We are about to launch online lessons, be on a look out for that. If you want to stay updated, register at our site BJK Ninja. Get your FREE Ninja Training manual while its available, I am thinking about taking it down, changing, or charging for it. Get it while it is still there.

  • @LeprechaunBoi i'm 13 and i'm a ninja but in my dojo there are younger than me, the kids dojo .really.

I've made judo before and karate but ninjutsu its a way of life. the friendship, the events, awesome. try to practice ninjutsu, it will change your lives XD

  • @Risu1aan Do you happen to live in england?

  • wft that powder is a BLACK EGG first off there black second they have either peppers, fine glass, or pepper extract

  • ninjutsu is not a sport and is not something to be used for personal gain.the art ensures safety in our society even in modern times.morons like Creation who have no clue about what the art is mock it.creation what is the matter? you cant fight your own battles so you get your brother to help you.your a sorry excuse for a human bei

  • ninja's rule

  • BJK Ninja on FaceBook for more information.

  • arguing over You Tube is like running in the special olympics...

Even if you win you're still a retard!

  • @tmcbrighton lmao, that i need to remember

  • nice vid

  • we see that today its just as noteworthy a martial art as tae kwon do or others. infact some would say that by disregarding rules or confingments of style or morality it has surpassed other forms. eg why stand and face a guy with a sword when u are at an obvious disadvantage isntead of simply attacking from above, finishing the job and then leaving before anyone even knows what took place.

P.s. I dont really give a crap if u didnt want to discuss this, i post an opinion, you post a...

  • yes you referenced them... so what??? you didnt cite a damn thing, and proved absolutely nothing more than knowing their name...

you seem to understand the argument being made...

ninjutsu, has no martial techniques in it... no combat skills, no throws, no strikes... nada.

it is the skills of stealth, of patience, of camouflage, of survival...

the job was espionage, sabotage, rinse and repeat.

we are not redefining MA or budo, we are simply establishing what history proves.

  • you called bs on a quote of me...

name one ninja who was not a shinobi soldier... just one.

you seem to forget that that is all the word samurai was used to describe...

and even if you are not publicly a soldier, being military still makes you one... so publicly or not, all ninja (even those undercover) are still samurai...

    ninja= square, samurai = rectangle,

not all rectangles are squares, but all squares are rectangles.

  • @Creationsofmyown Bullshit it has kicks, locks, throws, Punches and all the stuff you said

  • uh. no it most definitely does not.

the idea that ninjutsu is a MA is about 40 years old.

the only people who claim it is MA are those who seek to sell it. im not trying to sell you a thing.

im trying to help you learn.

now the problem is that these people take from several MA, mash it together, and call it ninjutsu.

this is deliberately dishonest, and is the ONLY practice of "ninjutsu" left....

  • Saying that im wrong that its a martial art simply because u say its not is foolish. Time is a factor with these things, to say that ninjutsu is not a martial form simply because it does not apply to concieved conditions is irrelevant. By that reasoning Shaolin Kung Fu is not a martial art as it was originaly taught as a form of exercise to keep monks in good enough shape to be able to commit theyre bodys to long meditation sessions. Is Krav Maga not a martial art? pushing away ceremonial belief
