You dan tell that this is biased because McDonald's would never allow someone in their kitchens like that at 0:57 if they were going to be criticized.
Definately bias! At least Eric is brave enough to stand up to a multi billion dollar corporation! He is trying to educate the people! I think if people opened their eyes and "lifted the viel" then we wouldn't have this global problem. Also, I know plenty of people who complain about working at the MacDonald's and how low the pay is and how poorly they are treated! Everyone should "Open Their Eyes"!!!
He's doing what he accuses McDonalds is doing - advertising to children. Yes, he is educating them about health. The biased slant was just revealed right there.
@emerson24 I think your a bit mixed up, I'll explain it from what I know he has said previously. In his opinion, McDonald's is marketed a whole bunch of ways (sports teams, commericals, etc.), but bringing McDonald's advertisements into elementary schools to target 3-9 year olds is just plain unethical. If there were no ads, but parents still took their kids to Mcdonald's then fine, but influencing bad food to kids leads to health problems.
@west336699 I agree. I don't think I clearly stated myself. I am even confused at my own statement. I agree, to target kids in schools is essentially unethical simply because they can not comprehend that decision of constantly eating that food. It would be like letting a kid just cross the street without ever teaching him to look both ways.
It's rather simple. If anyone sides with McDonalds for being healthy and treating animals humanely, they are beyond stupid and don't deserve your time to debate.
Provided, its a person's CHOICE to eat fast food, but IT'S NOT much of a choice if that's all they can afford or REAL FOOD isn't as available as Big Macs.
But as Morgan Spurlock said, "Where does Corporate Responsibility end and Personal Responsibility begin??"
And McDonals says they sell nutritious stuff like fruits and salads. But the salads can pack as much fat as a Big Mac and NOBODY I've seen go all the way to McDonald's so they can order a damn salad! Salads are available everywhere!
And look at the Hamburger Bill! Making it illegal to sue a company for putting out a product that contributes to someone's bad health.
Russttu, you've no common sense. Obviously, you've never slaved for a company like McDonalds. Ever hear of the Ray Crock Law? That was socialism endorsed by the US government so McDonalds could profit off of children rather than having to pay adults a living wage. This country was a single income family nation, but thanks to companies like this, it's impossible to support your kids with just one job, unless you happen to manage a McDonalds. Your economics sucks. But I wish you well.

@ydalmig: Gruesome facts about some people's favorite fast food restaurants are presented in the book. Fast food is not welcome in my diet. I don't want shit in my meat.
it's kind of a bad idea that they're interviewing this guy at the farm. he even says he's worked with McDonalds for years. he probably has to claim these things because if he doesn't, his job is at risk.
Never said he was a McDonalds employee. Please don't take my words the wrong way, or read them more carefully.
He's not going to speak poorly of McDonalds because he makes money from them. That's all I was alluding to.
Why would he say anything badly about McDonalds, or the meat itself, when his job would be at risk, he would lose money, and his main consumer, McDonalds, would stop/slow down his profit altogether.
2nd part woulda been nice, my only complaint is all the shitty packaging, a brown paper bag would be fine, do we really need a little cardboard dooda to hold the cup as it topples anyway. It's all the ignorant fuckers that chuck it outta their vauxhall corsas that I want to lynch.

Besides airing McDonalds commercials, TV SPECIFICALLY MAKES PROGRAMMING AIMED AT CHILDREN. Children overdose on TV as badly as they do on McDonalds food. It would make sense if Eric Schlosser attacked television and said that everything on it aimed at children is bad. But he knows the public would not stand for such change, and wants to do it over time so we won't notice by starting with Mcdonalds. Everything changed, good or bad, is being changed this way. I believe this way is immoral.
omg the people make themselfs fat by going to mcdonalds over and over! it's not mcdonalds' fault! i like mcdonalds but i'm not fat. i know it might be the truth but im sick of hearing it

Yes southendvipers, they do spit in the burgers. and often it depends just on the workers mooods, so u have no control over it as a customer. and uve seen those cogs behind the mcdonalds counter sweating away, and working their tails off...their not happy workers.
Note: this is all from the British perspective. Of course the beef in Britain is going to be produced more naturally than in the USA because of the whole mad-cow disease scare a few years ago. I hope they will do this same sort of interview in the US---I doubt they would be able to say that most Mc Donald's cows are treated humanely here.
I knew a loser who spit in someone's food. The customer looked and saw what was there. The guy got fired. I like McDonalds because I know that that filth happens everywhere. I guess the thing to do is always check your food as best you can wherever you go and never order a drink that is not self-serve(though they could spit in the soda fountains if they want to get everybody). By the way, we've all drank spit and didn't know it.
He does talk about the whole industry though. He talks about how Jack in the Box has dealt with the E.Coli problem of years ago by improving cooking and production standards, etc...
such propoganda. my friend worked for mcdonalds once. said it was the worst job. low pay, high stress, he got bad case of acne from frying. and it is common practise to spit into burgers (only for shitty customers usually). watch out if the order taker calls for a burger "mix". also apparently McD's has a scheme where they promote "control freaks" types (power hungry a**holes) to become managers. next time take notice of the guys with the golden arch ties...lol
Actually in Canada alot of beef is supplied by the American Company IBP (this information is available in Fast Food Nation). So I wouldn't consider McDonalds in Canada safe either.
"Super Size Me" movie is a horde of crap. Mc. Donalds just sells food that stupid people buy, the ones that have a metabolism that cannot stand the food, should go eat somewhere else.
Eric Schlosser is absolutely correct. He has changed McDonalds and their deceptive ways. McD waited for five years to face him because they thought they could out PR him like ant good coporation but people not only bought the book, they agreed. McD has killed a lot of ignorant people and made children fat.
In my opinion, the problem is that we all try to pretend ourselves thinking McDonald´s food is better in our countries, there´s no difference, it´s the same shit.
The thing with this is the UK and Canada are PHENOMENALLY different than the US. Here in Canada, we get Canadian beef (mostly Alberta grown beef I believe). The UK obviously doesn't have a problem with meat as shown in the video, but in the US, I believe it's a different story. There hasn't been anything quite like this to show the US's side of the story.

As an American my only concern is that much of what the McDonald's representative explains applies to McDonald's food in the U.K. Here in the U.S., obviously, their food quality and production methods are quite different.
