I owned this c64 version long ago. It's actually rather true to the one from the arcades. Try this one: 'ms pacman ex'! An excellent Pacman clone for PC only! There's a video of it on 'youtube'.

OMG! I used to have this years ago. I can't remember it now, but there is a route you can take where you can go on for hours without getting killed and get the symbol in the middle everytime.

After about 10 rounds the power pills don't even change the ghosts!

ok, i looked it up and it sez in japan they released PUCK MAN in 1979. it MUST have taken some time to make this game next so im still pretty sure this wasnt 1979. (btw if u wanna say im wrong then i am in USA. it is 1980 round these parts. get the f*** over it.)

You are correct. Pac-man came out in the United states in 1980. However .. Puck-Man originally came out in 1979 in Japan then in 1980 Midway acquired the right for USA. The name was changed to Pac-man because the P could be changed to an F very easily by vandals. The cabinet artwork was also changed to make it cheaper to produce.

I believe it did. There were a ton of home brews done on the commodore. I have seen about 6 different versions of pac-man for the system myself. If you are interested in seeing them Try visiting c64 . c o m. You'll be amazed at how many there are. unless of course they have been removed over the years.

I doubt the original atari could have handled a game as "advanced" as this considering the only machines at the time able to process this were the original arcade machines. That is one reason why the atari version was utter crap.

well bkisme, i see your point, given this was done on a computer, but later on in the 90s, Atari Age made "A Better Pac Man" which was a hack of Ms. Pacman, still it shows what could have been done earlier. Also Pac-man for atari 2600 was a rush job.
