  • Hey.. I am doing the natural hair journey so thanks alot for posting this video because I can tell my hair really needs some protein and this will be alot cheaper than trying to buy products that I can't afford on my college budget.. ;) thanks again-

  • GREAT VID!!!

  • You hair is so freaking pretty! How often should you do the protein deep conditioning treatment? Every week? Every two weeks? Or once a month?

  • Will Extra virgin Coconut Oil be considered a protein treatment? I use it as a prepoo overnight and then use a moisturizing deep conditioner after shampooing

  • Thanks for the advice, really helpful. Do you use Apple Cider Vinegar (ACV)? I have been overloading on protein cos lots of my products contain it, what do you recommend I use that does not contain it. I will be doing my own research too, but if you know any products, would appreciate it. Thanks xx

  • Would this be considered a light protein treatment?

  • Just to clarify the strand test because it's a it confusing to me: do you pull on one strand of hair or a few and do you pull on the hair whilst it's on your scalp or do you take one/few off? Thanks

  • Very nice video. Very detailed

  • I think that this is really a good treatment for ur hair & it doesn't even cost that much to do so... Thx for informing me on healthy natural products that I have always had & never paid attention too, until I had gone natural! Great video, keep us posted on hair regimens. Also, do u wash the protein treatment out of ur hair with shampoo or conditioner? Or do u just rinse it out?

  • I wish i could do this for my hair but here is the thing. I HATE MAYO! Lol... I dont eatit because I cant stand the smell or taste. Ill be damned if I put it in my hair....lol ill just have to find an alternative

  • Wow! You've got quite a collection of products over there (in the background).

Heck- who am I kidding! ALL of us ladies probably have a TON of beauty prodicts, right?! ;D Nice tutorial, kiddo!

  • I'm absolutely loving this song, what's it called and who's the artist?

  • Your culs are lucious, i miss your vids. good ol egg mayo. I will do the strand test with clean wet hair after washing prepoo out of my hair and conditioning.Do you use the whole egg or just the yolk?x

  • How can you stand the smell lol

  • PLS ORDER A SASSY SWAG SILK HAIR WRAP...WATCH ME ...GOD BLESS!

  • What deep conditioner did you use after the protein treatment?

  • Whats the name of that song?

  • is it tht watery

  • oh and on dry or wet hair?

  • y do u need mayo

  • egg protein treatment can you do this with your hair in cornrows

  • lovely curls! i've been thinking of doing a protein/moisture treatment. my hair hasn't been liking me lately

  • Excellent results. your hair is so pretty.

  • I just did this protein treatment and after the rinse out my curls/waves were more defined and my hair felt stronger while detangling. It had been shamefully too long since I had done a protein treatment. Great video. Great hair :-)

    Thanks for sharing!

  • Love ur curls! gorgeous hair :-)

  • How often can this be done? thanks, love your hair

  • Hi there. I love your hair and I wanted to know, how often do you do this?

  • i luv ur hair! wat type might it b btw?

  • great vid this is jus wat my hairs been needing but wasnt sure will definently be doing this 2moro

  • I am so confused, ever since I started hearing "protein sensitive" I've been leery of it. My hair is already fine, break easily. I moisturize daily and seal it with shea butter mixture or simply oil, but I don't do more harm to my hair until I get it to a better place. I've been natural for almost 1 1/2 years and the growth has been minimal. Any advice?

  • kimmay sent me. thnx for the vid. i will definently sub!

  • kimaytube sent me. nice video! I do amonthly protien treament using plain yogurt as my protien source. i'm one of those who can't tolerate the mayo/eggs scent. i followup with my shea, jojoba, neem, evo moisturising mask.

  • great hair, kimmay rocks!

  • great vid, i read a bit about protein vs. moisture, but no one actually made a vid to explain in detail how it is used, so thanks for the info!!

i'm glad that you stated that you did both protein and moisture(deepcondition) in one day, i was going to ask about that. how often you do this method? also, when you do this method after you wash the protein out, do you use your shampoo and conditioner then deep condition?

  • hi from kimmaytube !!! iam glad she talked about u !

  • very educative vid!! heard a lot ppl talk abt protein and moisture but u really explained the process and hw they relate properly thanks alot

  • i did this and it made my hair crispy when i was waiting under the plastic cap, did yours do that?

  • it was crispy like dry? The plastic cap keeps the moisture in so it doesn't dry out.

  • very good video and i like how you wrote the explanations instead of talking, lol. i got a lot more from just reading them like that that way. what does adding the oil do and do you think your hair turns out better by not adding it?

  • Thanks for this video! I'm doing mine right now but added a bit of protein conditioner to the mixture as well. Thanks!!! 3 weeks natural and counting :)

  • Gorgeous hair, girl.

  • did uu rinse it out you hair after the 45mins?

  • what is the name of this song??

  • Im so envious at your curls lol

So beautiful <33 thnx for the tips!

  • Great video girl!

    Educate :)

  • So how do you know if your hair is protein defecit? Are there signs I should be looking out for?

  • If you are natural it's safe and recommended that you do a protein treatment at least once per month.

  • omg i love the curly pattern your hair have

  • Okay so, I did this 2 weeks ago with one egg, mayo and olive oil and I let it stay on my hair for hours. Let me tell you, I could tell the difference ever since. Thank you for this video! I love all the homemade beauty tips you post.

  • thanks luv... tryna do this natural thing on a budget lol

  • thanks very informational

  • very true, great explanation of the moisture and protein balance.

  • VERY HELPFUL! THANKS

  • hi i am new to your channell and i watched your video and ENJOYED IT ..now for the question! o.k you say with this process you wash then condition then protein treatment and then cowash it out....what exactly do you mean by that part how do you cowash out the protein ? is that where you add more conditioner AFTER rinsing with plan water ?

  • What deep conditioner did you use?

  • Well, thank you for replying so quickly! I live in Germany and it's hard to find stores that sells ethnic hair products. I'm definitely giving this a try... you've got beautiful hair btw:-)

  • it's hard 2 define mushy b/c I didnt kno what it felt like until after I did the protein treatment sorry

  • 1st thing... read the ingredients. many companies say that they hav added "shea butter" or "castor oil" but it is at the bottom of the ingredient line. Ingredients r listed from highest concentration 2 lowest. But i wuld still use a protein treatment b/c 6-8 weeks w/o a treatment is a looong time : )

  • Hi: Thanks for the tips! So we need to wash the hair first (shampoo & cond?), then the protein, then rinse? no more shampoo?... does the smell go away? I've never done this type of thing, so I don't know.

  • shampoo, conditon, protein, then co-wash it out... the smell does go away especially if you co-wash it. and it's cool ask all the questions u want : )

  • hey dontuwishuknu, im a beginner at beiong natural, im just transition, my hair is very long so i dont want to cut it, but i have been transitioning for 4 weeks now. but i dont want to do the big chop, i like you hair, any tips on how i can grow my hair that long please help and wat did you do while transtioning ur hair please help me?

  • I love the egg, mayo protein treatment. I actually do it once a week. I usually use an egg, mayonnaise, olive oil, and maybe honey sometimes. The results are great!

  • OMG!!!! You and I have the same bed cover! :-)

  • imma have to try that...and i have the exact same fluffy peace pajama pants...lol :)

  • gurl most comfortable things ever! lol

  • What will happen if you leave this in your hair for more than an hour?? Could you get protein overload?? PLEASE reply quickly~Thanks!! ;-)

  • This Ethiopian Lady toLd me that Abercado and 2EggZ are gOOd too! but my hair naturally gets curly wen its wet. wuLd that be good 4 the hair?? ooh yea im Natural toO. :)

  • i hav heard some ppl use it... I dont c anything wrong wit it

  • When you do your protein egg/mayo treatment, can you use an ordinary shower cap, or do you need a special thermal cap or something?? please reply quickly~Thanks!! :-)

  • i use a regular shower cap... if u want heat u can use a shower cap a microwave a towel for 30 secs n wrap it around ur head

  • I love the results too =)

  • I love doing my protein and moisture treatments every month

  • How do you do a home-made deep conditioning, and what products are needed.

  • Wow it came out looking really nice I bet it feel really good too! Thanks for the idea I will add this to my hair regimen!

  • I totally agree about the deep conditioning on the same day as the protien treatment because GIRL my hair was hard and really stiff after my protien treatment and when i sprayed water on it daily to soften it up it would just dry up and stay brittle. I finally did the deep condition the next weekend and I was okay. So if I dare do a P-treatment again, I will definitely follow-up with deep conditioning.

  • This was such a cool video! Thanks so much for taking the time to post this...your explanations were great. In order to avoid the white pieces of egg in my hair, I sometimes simply use mayo - as eggs are already included in the mixture...and it's already whipped to perfection =). Great song, by the way!

  • Thanks for the vid. I tried the mayo egg mixture for the past month following up with a moisturizing deep treatment and still have breakage. I have on my Amazon list to buy some Aphoghee. I really thought that i was only to use that when my hair was permed. I love you You tube ladies!!:)

  • I need to try this asap. My hair has been looking a mess lately.

  • how often should we do this..my hair is really curly..but it sheds alot..i love the mayo and egg treatment..ive tried it b4 and it works wonders..i just didnt know how often i should do this??!!

  • i do mine twice a month and then follow with deep conditioning treatment

  • great video and thank u so much for the information ...can never have enough knowledge...thanxs!

  • I really love this treatment. I do it once a month. Using just the egg yolk and not the the egg white makes the mixture less runny. GREAT VIDEO!

  • thats a good idea... thanks luv i'll try that next time!

  • I really like this treatment. It's messy but it works wonders over time. I agree with you that moisture and protein need to be balanced. I think sometimes curly girls only think about moisture but the protein helps to fill in those weak areas in the hair shaft! It really has helped my hair get much stronger and look healthier overall. Your hair looks very nice so keep up the great work!

  • Great video! I havent dont this treatment in a while! It feels so nasty! LOL do you use the whole egg or just the yolk? because when i wash it out it always leaves little white pieces. even when rinsing in cold water.

  • I had pieces of egg in there 2... but my faux denman got it out : )

  • Good vid. Thanks for putting this together. I completely agree with everything that you said. How long have you been doing these treatments and how often do you do them. You have such beautiful hair.

  • I tried Aphogee on relaxed hair as well as on natural hair. When I was relaxed it was great, as a natural it made my hair so hard it took me about two weeks to get it soft again.

I know what I need is a very good deep conditioner, but I cant seem to find one my hair likes. I also need a good leave in that I can mix with other products. Any suggestions?

  • I love this vid. :-) You included lots of good info. Your hair looks AMAZING at the end.

  • thanks luv! I love urs 2... im gettin my entry ready 4 ur contest! I'm so sad I missed the Oyin thing yesterday : (

hope u bought some products 4 me lol

  • Good video! You researched it very well. My hair is relaxed and i do a light protein treatment every single week until i relax again. I never do the Aphogee thing the week after my relaxer though, but my hair seems to not mind. Im gonna give it a go this time around. Im relaxing in 3 weeks.

  • This video was actually right on time because I JUST did and elasticity test and found that my hair was snapping too easily. I used strands from my Denman that had just come out from detangling after washing and conditioning. I wasn't sure which was needed for my hair but I decided on moisture and according to your video I chose right! Thanks!

  • I tried Aphogee, but I hated how hard it made my hair so next time around I'm definitely giving this a try. Thanks!

  • lookin good, ma! as always!

  • aww thanks : )

  • Thank you for doing this video. Was the oatmeal used for the moisture treatment?

  • lol no that was my breakfast

  • hair is time consuming, now i remember y i kept it short

  • Very informative, again! Thanks!

  • Thanks, so much for sharing because I can not afford Aphogee at the moment but need a good protein treatment:)

  • That crazy I do the same thing twice every month lol.. Great minds think alike

  • Appplecidder- dont they? lol

  • I loved the results. I think I need both protein and moisture as well. I usually do well with protein based products except for animal proteins which I don't care for anyway. But I will try it!

  • Do you think the transition girls should do both in one day?? Love the protein treatment it really did have my hair feeling strong.

  • i dont see a problem with that

  • i use the same thing but i add avocado to mine

  • I seriously love your hair!!! you obviously take good care of it. My mama used to put mayo in my hair when I was younger and natural. And now that i'm natural again I should prolly give that another shot! Great vid!!

  • Wow gorgeous! I cant do the egg and mayo smell, ugh, any suggestions on other natural proteins? Have you tried yogurt?

  • i havent tried yogurt... but u can put eggs in ur regular conditioner

  • will do this treatment next weekend....how often do you do it?

  • i think ima do it twice a month
