yeah it definately is louder. each of the speakers is 40watt each so it gives it more sound. iv used standard 15 watt marshall combos and this is way louder. i suppose it all depends for what you want to use it for but the volumes been enough for everything i have used it for.

I am very impressed with the ballsy sound this thing gets. It seems to me that what this unit does is allow you to achieve the sound of a real Marshall stack cranked to stadium levels -- only at a reasonable volume. I wish Marshall would make something like this but with real tubes. I love my 100 watt Marshall TSL, but for most applications who needs that kind of firepower? I would love to have a mini marshall stack with 10 watts of real tube power and be able to crank it without going deaf.

well the overdrive channel is pretty good, and i play the same kind of music as you, but for around 300 dollars, the same price as the marshall, i reccomend you get a peavey. my peavey is the bandit 112 and when i am practicing in my room, i have the post gain (main volume) at less than one,and the pre-gain at around 3 for gnr, and 5 for mettalica. hope this helped!
