Correction: The green strat here is HS-2 Pickups. My red strat has HS-3 pickups.

My strats are American Deluxe Strats. They are the models that were made with the Vintage Noiseless Pickups. They were issued a year or two prior to Fender making this model with the Samrium Cobalt Pickups they have in them now. I don't like the new ones.

To be honest bro, the first several years I had my chops. But I don't want you to think it was natural. I practiced a lot! My average practice time was 4 hours a day, every day, for several years. I am not a naturally gifted musician. And my chops are not what they were when I was like 18 years old. I have tapes of when I was 16-17 and I can't play that stuff anymore. I think it is important as a guitarist to develop your technique 1st, then after several years of good,solid practice (cont)

you can start adding other things to your arsenal. Even though I don' play as fast as I did when I was 18, I am a way better musician now. I can improvise, construct songs, play different styles, etc. But when you can play technically sound, it is easier to add other things to your skill-set.
