I think that since the airlines are going to have increased holiday traffic anyway this time of year they might as well cut people some slack. The shear volume of people flying in this season would still get them more money than other seasons do.
Gah, my flight from Portland to Austin and back is ridiculous. I've never flown at Christmas time before and was so surprised when the flights were 100 dollars more expensive than I was used to. Super frustrating.
I lived in boston.. a 4 hour drive back to nyc and even that was too far. I moved back to the nyc area. though I don't live with an as cool group of people in my general area.
Is it bad that I spent the first part of this video watching the cage to see when Misty would make an appearance? Meanwhile, airlines suck, not being able to afford to travel sucks and you are still awesome. That should about sum it up.
The earlier you book a flight, the cheaper it usually is. I try and book flights as much as 6 months in advance, or as close to that as I can. But yeah, those greedy bastards love to raise their prices come the holidays. 'Tis better to receive than to give.

I would think at least one airline would not increase their prices to direct more traffic their way; but then again, I don't want to be a reductionist when it comes to MNC's commerce.
I heard flights ON Christmas were pretty cheap, but, like, who wants to do that?!

My parents have always worked for the airlines, so I've flown free all my life. These kinds of situations are somewhat a foreign concept.
