I love this, I had no idea that there was video taken of Oneonta that early on (I've lived here my whole life and so have both my parents). Where did you get this from? Do you think that there are any other old videos of Oneonta like this out there floating around?
@poisonalice My grandparents took them. I think they'd pass through Oneonta on their way from Stamford, CT to Cooperstown or back to NYC after spending some time in Cooperstown. There very well could be more of this era out there. Search for Oneonta and see what comes up. You may have to sift through a lot of others though.
I miss living in Oneonta...sorta anyway. Used to live on Ford Ave and Main street around the corner from the police department. I remember when the Dark Horse Saloon burned down in '92. Me and several friends were there til closing...an hour later the place burnt to the ground. What a shame...
hey whos vid is this and who knows the people in it ... just wondering i have tons of family in oneonta......... and my grandparents owned a business there........
Thanks. Do any of the storefronts look familiar? Probably new names on them all these days but I wonder if any/much of the architecture remains. I wish I had more...
Oneonta is my hometown, My dad is the co-owner of the restaurant The Autumn Cafe!

Omg that is so cool!! It's so eerie seeing Main Street from 90 years ago and knowing what it's like now. I live history. <3
