  • NO WAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY

  • looks safe

  • when you see 44+ dislikes on a video where a guy opens a can with a knife you start to notice the internet is full of retards as they all start coming out of the woodwork. myself excluded.

  • @69beargyrlls Retarded Dumbass

  • NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!

  • guys iv tried that and the can sliped and i ended up with 8 stiches on my finger so i dont recomend this

  • @brokenflowerz dumbass

  • A video on how to take a finger off??? LOL

  • @Thunkful2 dumbass

  • Holy crap, the entire video I was fearing that you were going to slice off your fingers. Just use your P38 or better yet, a P51.

  • @TheShockwave dumbass

  • Now really that just bloody dangerous because what if the fucking knife accidentally slipped, I mean if someone was to try this with a dodgy knife they could slip and accidentally cut their jugular vein they would be dead within there 50 seconds or 1- 3 to 4-5 minutes to live. main artery to the brain cut no chance of survival 0% chance of survival infact -100% chance of survival

  • @MegaJjb10 funny dumbass

  • tough knife though.

  • using a spoon is way better dude.

  • @radicallykind dumbass

  • hahahahaha!

  • HARDCORE :D

  • this vid is almost useless ,,, i have opened can lids with dollar knives with no damage to the edge ,,,can metal is very soft and shearable

  • oh boy , metal filings in my beans ! open cans this way and eventually your holding hand is going to get lots of damage

  • @heettreet Had you read the comments:

"No, as previously discussed, there were no shavings. Have you ever looked at a can opener? How do you think it opens them? By a round metal blade, that is forced into the metal and rotated. It does not produce shavings.

A lot of people were missing the point here. This test was not about opening the cans, it was about using a knife to do something that most people would consider to be misuse or abuse of a knife and show how it didn't damage it."

  • @awn9 you where using a sawing motion ,, that is not the same as a roller or even a chisel edge shearing the can open ,,,, much more opportunity for filings or shavings ,,, i have worked with metal all my life and yes i have looked at rollers cutting metal ,,,shearing,,, there is a difference ,,, you sawed the dam lid ,,,,, also , have you cut your hand yet by holding the can that way , be careful

  • @awn98q air damages knife edges ,,,, what do you think your knife's edge looks like under a magnifying glass ,,, you'd be surprised at the before and after

  • @heettreet ignorant know it all dumbass that doesn't know shit.

  • @69beargyrlls hmmmmmmm, maybe i am an ignorant know it all dumbass ,,, but ,,,, one that has kept all his fingers

  • Use to open cans all the time with my pocket knife when I was in the military .

  • What could possibly go wrong?

  • @kelzan202 ya i agree ,, this guy seems to think he is immune to the laws of nature

  • stupidest thing ive done it litterarly took me 45 minutes and i cut myself twice,,, but now im enjoying my fruit (:

  • @iBeZeY As I've said repeatedly, DON'T TRY THIS! It is VERY dangerous, and I regretted doing it once I had started. This is not an efficient way to open a can. I would use a P-38 or Swiss Army knife. The reason I did this was a knife test to show that it could cut through steel without damage or dulling to the blade.

  • Awsome knife dude next time just stab the can for fun

  • @WesternRocket I've seen people stab these knives through military steel ammo cans and car hoods.

  • @WesternRocket I've seen people stab these knives through military steel ammo cans and car hoods.

  • Mine too.

  • my p-38 is 10 times faster

  • @FaceSmileProduction yes ,, and it leaves no shavings ,, like when he had to saw the dam lid

  • Sooo complicated... I'd rather spend 3 bucks on a can opener...

  • @lindaNxay Too much. Spend $.50 for a P-38. You can carry it in your wallet, or on your keychain. It has a myriad of other uses too.

  • @lindaNxay dumbass

  • that's definitely doable, thanks for showing that.... But I'm glad I always carry a Swiss Army Knife

  • @eeeeeeeeesssaaaaaaaa I used to EDC a SAK, but I don't like how the blade dulls so quickly. I do like that it easily takes a very sharp edge though.

  • I think I'll stick with a can opener...

  • lol

  • EEK! Watch those fingers.

  • @paft don't worry ,,, he'll know which one to bring to the hospital

  • @heettreet Haha

  • @gageweber99 These are no ordinary knives. They are made of special heat treated jack-hammer bit tool steel. They can chop through a cinder block with no damage. I cut a hole in a car hood with a hawk made of the same metal. A tin can is nothing, you could pry open a safe with this knife.

  • @awn98q lol....so do u suggest we get that special knife vs jst going out and buying a can opener?

  • those cans parents have been looking for them for just over three years now. you murderer.

  • Comment removed

  • scrap yard!!!

  • My comment wasn't posted with the video sorry. Basically the same thing. Done a little differently.

  • i spent the whole time thinkin "goin through his hand in a minute"

  • mmmmmm i love metal shavings in my green beans!

  • @Ajrivera52 If you had read the comments, this was already addressed. There were NO shavings.

  • @awn98q when you saw metal ,,, there ARE filings ,, why don't you listen to our comments and learn somethiing ,,, don't be a thick head

  • dont go as deep next time and itll work better

  • when i tried this the lid sprang up and cut my finger lol..can opener was broken

  • @probe5656 Yeah, I certainly don't advocate using this method to open a can, as there are far more efficient (and safe) ways to do it. This object of this video, was not a can opening method, but a hard-use test of an expensive, tough knife.

  • Poor knife..

  • @failedmission1 Why that's nothing for this knife. If you were strong enough, you could pry open a safe door with it. :)

  • wow nice knife.. im about to trade for one on BF(dot)com what do you think of this knife? hows the handles? and edge retention from your prespective and any things you DONT like about it?

  • @silentknight2112 It's a little big knife. The handles are from the old Busse Basic series, they're a little small if you have big hands, but manageable. What I don't like about it, is due to the thickness of the blade, it's not very good for fine whittling and cutting tasks. It is pretty much a sharpened pry-bar, only thicker. It stays sharp pretty well, but not as well as SR-101. My favorite thing to use it for it splitting wood when making a fire. Thick blade helps it split the wood easier.

  • @awn98q ok PERFECT thats exactly what i wanted to hear (about the wood splitting and being a sharpened prybar... lol) i was looking for a good tough, rough use knife and i was hoping this would be a good canidate i really appreciate the comment thanks.

  • @silentknight2112 I have a bunch of pics of it I took, if you'd like to see them they're on Flickr. My username there is: andywayne

(remove the spaces, it won't let me post a URL.)

  • @awn98q awesome, thanks alot thats a beautiful knife... and your a great photographer

  • @silentknight2112 Thanks! :) If you haven't checked out the Scrap Yard forum, it's a GREAT place to hang out.

  • Why does he just keep showing the knife at the end? Shit's fucking weird. Knife fetish. Opening cans with knives fetish.

  • @Ryz0n89 Just because you don't understand something, doesn't mean it's weird. I was trying to get the camera to focus on the edge to show there were no nicks, chips, dings, or rolls. This is considered hard use, and abusive according to a number of knife manufacturers. This video was intended to show a hard use test of an expensive quality ($150ish) knife to test its mettle. Lesser knives could incur serious edge damage from such a test.

  • yummmm metal shavings and green beans lol...

  • @SOLOK1LLA No, as previously discussed, there were no shavings. Have you ever looked at a can opener? How do you think it opens them? By a round metal blade, that is forced into the metal and rotated. It does not produce shavings.

A lot of people were missing the point here. This test was not about opening the cans, it was about using a knife to do something that most people would consider to be misuse or abuse of a knife and show how it didn't damage it.

  • @awn98q we know what you where trying to convey ,, we just wanted to point out the danger of holding the can that way ,,, and filings in the beans ,, why don't you just thank us and let it go

  • I bet the knife cost more than a can opener.

  • @xXBloodbatXx Yep, and more useful in the woods too.

  • i like how someone responded with a p-51 can opener video XD

  • It helps to start with a high quality knife. I don't recommend anyone try this though, it's very dangerous, you could lose a finger.

  • tried that and the knife broke

  • poor green beans and potatoes! stabbed violently over and over lol

  • Canned potatoes?? What has the world come to?

  • It didn't need sharpening.

  • now take the money u invest in sharpening ur knife to buy a can opener itl do u good

  • how to ruine a good knife.....use the other side.....

  • @godyrwita Nah, didn't hurt it a bit. This is one of the toughest knives you'll find. A friend of mine hammered his through a car hood with no damage.

  • yea, slip and its all over. love the metal shavings in the green beans.

no damage to the edge?? but lots of paint from the tip in the food....

  • @mrbeligos There were no shavings or paint.

  • @awn98q well just be careful, that's why I purposefully carry a p-38 in the field.

  • @mrbeligos Me too. I would NEVER try this in a wilderness setting, the risk for serious injury is too great.

  • Bussekin knives are the best in the world IMO. :)

  • Check my vid, i use a simple kitchen knife and open a lid without even trying in about 7 seconds.

  • thats totally effective if you wanna make a mess and risk stabbing your hand

  • BTW do you think you could do a table top w/ this knife-I noticed the original DM (Still for sale on scrapyard's website) is .035" thicker than other versions of the DM-cheaper too, big plus. I would love to see what kind of sheath it comes with etc.

  • Unfortunately, SY no longer sells this knife. IF you can find someone selling one, they usually go for about double the original price. They didn't come with a sheath, their knives never do. You can see pics I've taken of this knife on my Flickr page. My username there is: andywayne

  • w w w . flickr. c o m/photos/andywayne/sets/72157620993600711/

is the link to my DM pics.

  • what a great knife-it is giving my BK-2 penis envy-especially since the DM is only 70 bucks-i payed a little less than 55 for my BK-2 (which I really do love btw.

  • made me shiver- i'd cut my hand doing something like that because i'm a klutz.

  • I open my canned potatoes with pump-action 12 gauge.....PULL!!!

  • Ok...I've said this again and again. The focus of this video was not about how I opened the can, it was about the knife. Lesser knives would severely dull or chip from hard use like this, but this knife did not. It was a performance test of the knife.

  • I know my friend i was only joking, they are VERY tough knives! How long have you owned it? And how thick is the blade at the spine?

  • Since they first came out. Thickness is .285 inches.

  • @awn98q ok ,, i'll say this again and again ,, my dollar knife has opened cans with no damage to the edge , this vid says nothing new

  • @heettreet dumbass

  • And by the way, it's very strange that you have potatoes in a can..

  • And why is that strange? They sell them at Walmart, so I'm not the only one who buys them. Not every one needs 5 or 10 lbs of potatoes at a time. Also you don't have to peel them.

  • For ME, it was strange, because I've never seen that before (here in Germany). Don't worry about my commentary.

And by the way, yes, your knife's perfomance was very good. It's from army?

    Greetings.

  • They make knives for military units all over the world. They're pretty expensive, so usually only special units get them unless they buy them themselves.

  • effective, but dowdy ;D

  • It looks dangerous when doing this.

  • Yes, it was very dangerous.

  • your nuts lol ahaha

  • my knife got fucked up yo... im dead

  • Oh come on man, the likelihood of that knife slipping and cutting your hand is pretty high. This is a stupid video that ought to come with a warning.....

"Don't try this at home because I am a moron that's too cheap to buy a can opener."

  • @Neil6000 and with being very dangerous, he treats his knife like a bitch. look as he finishes his first can. Like he is cutting bread or something lol... Really bad for you and your knife

  • There's no need for personal insults. I had a can opener, that wasn't the point. This was a knife test, not an opening method test.

  • @Neil6000 If it does slip and cut his hand, a little duck tape and some beer will fix it right up :)

  • Man, are you so lazy that you bought canned potatoes instead of peeling them yourself ? :D

  • I didn't need 5 or 10 pounds of them. If I peeled them, I might slip and cut myself! ;) :)

  • Ahah, man. No offense but, don't you think that you have more chances to cut yourself in opening a can with a big knife ? :D

  • I was entirely mesmorized ....WHAT ...ain't you got no gun??

  • thats not overkill at alllllll...

  • Or you could carry a 50 cent folding can opener that's less likely to slip and take your eye out. Different strokes I guess.

  • how could you possibly take your eye out by doing this?

    cut your hand maybe..

  • This was not a test of an opening method. It was a performance test of the knife. Sometimes you forget your P38, so it's nice to know it can handle it.

  • @edwdixon5 yeah we know all the strokes you have take place in the bathroom!

  • @frenchfried100 Take that back.

  • @edwdixon5 it's called a joke dude sorry .

  • thx

  • 1 its hard and 2 you just spill lots.......wow

  • He makes it look easyier then it is. I cut self myself

  • Kids, don't try this at home. :p ;)

  • The point of the video was not the method, it was the knife doing this with no damage to the edge. I ate them. There weren't any filings. It sheared the can.

  • Most people would not be able to use this method without serious injury. And you can't tell me there isn't metal filings in that can after you are done.

  • yum, can filings in my green beans...

  • There weren't any filings.

  • So no metal comes off when you saw a can with a serrated knife?

  • It's not serrated. It just cut through it, like a can opener would.

  • Oh, it sounded like sawing when you got to the end.

  • exactly, i did it it worked except i've got some shitty knives. and i had no Filings

  • There's no need for sarcasm. This is not something I generally do, it was an example to show the toughness of this particular knife.

  • wow, that doesn't look dangerous at all.

  • Are there more knives like that in the scrap yard? I need a good, free knife! Maybe you can give me yours when I go to visit you in the hospital after you chop your hand off.

  • he says with no damage to the knife but he just severely dulled the tip so it needs to be reprofiled and im surprised the tip didnt break

  • I guess you're not familiar with Scrap Yard. To see what it takes to break this steel, see here: knifetests.c0m/scrapyardscrapper6test.h t m l

For more info, see my page here: geocities.c0m/awn98q/Busse.h t m l

  • Replace the zeros with o, and not spaces at the end. I had to do that for it to let me post a link.

  • mom has same potatoes

  • what brand of knife is that?

  • Scrap Yard.

  • I think this video is proof we DO need a can opener.

  • yes i would agree - yes the knife gets the can open, but it would seem the knife could so easily slip off the can and either go on the table or worser still onto the other hand which is holding the can - plus I wouldn't be sawing down the last bit of the can because bits of metal shavings will end up in the food

  • @dany1441 indeed.

  • you should try opening one with a spoon

  • thats a sharp ass knife

  • potato in can :-)

  • I cant do it- cans too tough :(

  • potatos in a can ? are they good ?

  • They're ok. A lot easier than peeling and boiling them yourself. They're nice to throw in with some green beans and bacon.

  • gotta try it sometime then :D

  • I'm a fellow Hoosier from Fort Wayne!

  • Nice to meet you. If you go to the Indy 1500 gunshow, they have a table there where they sell these knives.

  • Wanna sell that knife to me?

  • not suprised

  • i don't think i've ever seen potatoes in a can before

  • You must not cook much. ;) Those were from Walmart.
