Ok, I'll buy that the Amish MAY have built the outer wooden part but the Amish reject all technology and would never build, use, sell something that uses a remote control. I'm wondering if the Amish are even aware that their way of life is being used as a marketing tool by this company. Is the guy in the commercial even Amish or did he just grow and trim his beard in the Amish style?

This fireplace does have a tip sensor. so if it falls it stops producing heat. nice feature

the fire place in general works pretty well. wood is of poor quality. its not made by a cratsman. it screwed together and not nailed. any good craftsman nails things together then covers the holes.

If you buy it will it last? for the most part.. yes. home depot sells better ones for about the same price. BTW the fireplace insert is made in china.

they do not claim the insert was made by Amish.

if your insert dies you can always buy another insert to replace it.

It gives off the same amount of wattage as a Coffee cup and also gives off the same amount of heat, the thing you are paying for is the mantle, which infact is not really worth it, A lowes they have a heater for 20 bucks that heats a room better then this

@indoom666 I wonder if those portable radiators filled with oil would be far more economical. As the thermostat goes off the heat is retained in the oil filled radiator tubes and stays warm for a while....so you actually still have it warm when no electricity is being used

quick question. Does your fireplace's fan shut off after a while? mines does and it never comes back on. Even when I set the thermostat. I can't tell if i'm doing something wrong or if its just the heater and I need to send it back for a replacement.

@AnimalLoverLink Agreed. GeldedMan needs to realize if a houshold normally runs a gas furnace, switching to electric = a large savings over the course of one winter. My mother bought two Eden Pure heaters and along with ONE oil radiator heater she saw her heating costs drop DRAMATICALLY in her little 2 bedroom house that first year compared to running her gas furnace the year before. The Eden Pure's are paying for themselves.

I must agree a bit on the scam portion, paid 300$ initial cost, then 58$ later they severely drop the price. What in the hell? Guess I should have waited..

The noise- It was horrible, the one downstairs has a bump noise, mine has a screech.

I spent about an hour just now fixing it and at least I can sleep without hearing that sound intermittent screeching noise. I'll make a video tutorial on repair as I will be fixing the downstairs one tomorrow. The screws pretty much speak for themselves.

I really love it! Ive shopped around for a while with the Amish mantle stuck in my mind. I decided theirs was the best even though the only thing made by them is the woodwork because the heat surge is from china but almost all brands ARE from China. This runs beautifully and very quiet. The flames are amazingly REAL looking. The also have the deal where you can buy slightly "Flawed" for $198. and I dare you to find the flaw. My neighbor got his and we still havent found it.
