Beautiful song. I would love to hear a nice, low key drummer in the background....cymbals crescendoing, nice *thump* from the bass...I just think it would be cool--not that you both don't sound awesome like you are!...
The imagery is deceptively beautiful, but to "walk in the water until my hat floats away" is what happened to the gifted writer Virginia Woolf. Mary has spoken of holding a "Phoenix to my chest", and I find these words, especially when they're surrounded by lyrical imagery, quite shocking. In my life people would say, but why do you want to die? My answer, why do you want to live? Mary has walked that tightrope, and reminded me of my struggle here.
