I asked, but they cant as the phone system in Japan is complete different to the rest of the world. Quad band with e-mail no SMS. I will wait for the next version and hopefully they will release it here.
Waiting for next version? Whoa! Think the wait will be years before they release a new model... It really is a pity you can't own it. Countless times, I have been approached by strangers asking what is it etc... They get amazed... some even take photos of my phone!!! Personally I love it...
Apparently there is another version in the works because of the Serene not working in Asia. It could be just rumours but there have been some patients filed about 3 months ago.
I will just have to wait B&O don't release everything here, only TV in Japan.
I have both the Serene and the Serenata. Till now I do not know which is my favourite. When I do have the time I shall update with a new video containing all of the above shown together with the Serenata, extras and all of them in their Louis Vuitton and other bespoke cases.(Hope this reply does not come across that I am trying to show off). Rather, it is actually my hope to showcase Bang & Olufsen's design and function superiority.

Erm.. Are you native Japanese? By the way, Serene works in Asia. I'm in Singapore. I think its only Japan due to complicated telephony system there.

He could import it of course, BUT did you never hear about PDC-standard? GSM doesn't work in Japan ^^
But to come to my actual comment:
Bang&Olufsen is great, I'm going to buy that phone, or maybe the Serenata, I just don't know which I should buy in the end...
