  • Brilliant!!! But I am still going to shout from the highest treetop about overpopulations. . . :-)

  • Why aren't you repeating the worries expressed by Malthus that we are destined to run out of resources and that we can't deal with population growth. He has been proven entirely wrong. When prophesy fails they just delay the day or reckoning. Here, they maybe be you.

  • Sum it up the majority of the human population is stupid

  • @NovusChaoMundi Statistically stupid

  • Well done my men!

  • Maximum denial- I always wondered what life and people were like during the last days of the roman empire...

    now i know

  • The FED is pushing down the long end of the bond rates by buying them up and controlling the yields.

  • Awesome interview JHK knows where were going

  • Great interview. I agree with Mr. Kunstler that the future is in small towns and local access to the communities' needs.

  • The extent to which humans can gather resources for their own use depends on their geographical reach. Think about that for a moment.

  • Strange how James was in some degree of disagreement with Bucky's Comprehensive Anticipatory Design Science and then goes on to say something that Bucky used to say time and time again that these necessary changes will only come about via "emergence by emergency." At any rate, nice interview.

  • Great job Warren. I'm sorry that you're being attacked for your views. It's really a shame.

  • @kileer7 James and I had a great time; we continued on talking offline for about an hour. I don't need everyone to align to my viewpoints. I simply need to gather elements that complete a story-puzzle. The only thing I find curious is that early in JHK made a statement on conspiracy theorists; those frozen in that mindset just could not consider all the other elements in the story. The fact people are frozen in narrow mindset is the disappointment.

  • @wepollock I was thinking you put a lot of effort into these videos, providing a service that will literally save a few lives (not exaggerating) and the least people can do is try to listen and comprehend the topics discussed rather than focusing on something they don't like.

  • Excellent Kunstler interview!

That was the best interview of JHK I have seen. Way to dig below the surface that most hosts don't venture into. I don't know if you follow Chris Martenson, but I would (and I'm sure your subscribers would as well) love to hear you interview him. I think he has the best grip on where we are headed, (not including you of course.)

You are doing a great public service my friend! Keep it up.

  • @ChezKritta Please send Chris an Email in that regard..

  • Yet this remains: "What do we DO about it?" Waking takes shaking. We need to take down the Yellow Ribbons and never put them up for the blood seekers. We need to form up our own currency such as Silver. We must use Seige to prevent the "leaders" from eating. We must get out of our Cars. We must abjure television. "They" ain't gonna DO it for us. Our Ancestors did not think about The Great White Father."

  • Once again the 800 lb Gorilla in the room is completely ignored. We are currently having 5.0 + earthquakes on a weekly if not greater basis--->run a wolframalpha inquiry on your location. Literally millions of trees were destroyed in Texas, Arizona, and Oklahoma last year. The average temperature where I live is probably 20 degrees cooler than this year (corporate TV weather bullshitters notwithstanding). This vid just proves those making accusations of DELUSION and MYOPIA need a mirror.

  • thanks for another great interview. lots to chew on, but my knee-jerk reaction is to respectfully disagree with kunstler on a couple of key issues. namely the effects of the gov-financial system criminal racket unravelling (police state) and application of technology going forward. maybe they'll be irrelevant in the overview, but there's a lot of variables to come into play...certainly too much to talk about in a YT comment :D

  • the interview and following discussion are well worth the time.

  • wars are about trade routes, natural resourses/energy and cheap labor.....thats all its ever about. dont be fooled folks...

  • @centervilletn completely agaree!

  • The bankers, cia-pentagon run the show.

  • sleep from 2am till 8am and that will solve it

  • lol, the Minute He Said He Voted for Obama. lol Bye Bye.

  • @Mindcrime1994 i have to concur

  • "There are two spiritual dangers in not owning a farm. One is the danger of supposing that breakfast comes from the grocery, and the other that heat comes from the furnace." - Aldo Leopold

  • JHK talks about the decline of local communities as a result of globalization and consolidation. It would be a great services to create a MAP of the US showing these areas that have declined to well:-THIRD WORLD STATUS. You have identified Buffalo NY, Detroit, Flint, it is massive. A MAP SHOWING THE 3 WORLD AREAS OF THE US

  • unable to tell ourselves the TRUTH.....epidemic..

    does reality need interpretation?

the bank manager I spoke to yesterday never heard of MF Global or Jon Corzine...how is this possible

do we know how to be content...true contentment does not breed more consumers

  • voted for obama??? can't take this guy seriously

  • I've been a great fan of JHK since I read "The Geography of Nowhere", which is a brilliant cri de coeur against the anomie of modern (post WW2) car-centered urbanism.

I agree in genral with his analysis of the consequences of peak oil, except for one major disagreement. I think he's biased against large cities and for small towns, mainly because he prefers to live in small towns (which is his right), but we face a crisis of liquid fuels used in transportation. (to be continued....)

  • @Ape65 (part 2) I think that when oil hits several 100s of dollars a barrel, people will have to use the cheapest and easiest to build mass transit system available, which is electric trolly busses running on overhead wires. These will be installed along major arteries in cities with populations over 100,000. Houses within walking distance will be turned into apartments by subdividing them, making apartments out of basements & attics (to be continued)

  • @Ape65 (part 3). Houses not within walking distance will be abandoned. People will either live in the country if they have a good reason to (because they are farmers of foresters of fishermen), or in cities over 100,000 with these mass transit systems. Anything in between will be abandoned because no-one will be able to afford gasoline or electric cars. BTW farm areas will boom because the US will be exporting food to Asia.

  • @Ape65 How would you get the far less plentiful food to large urban settings? Dense populations require complex, energy intensive dispersal systems. A house in the suburbs with a decent yard for gardens/chicken coop is more sustainable than a high-rise concrete box with 600 poeple in it.

  • @SchrodingersEconomy I think the demand for small town farming comes from the inherent health benefits and varieties of foods that are not mass produced. Those who can afford to will, on average, prefer locally grown food, which may allow for more expensive transportation overhead.

  • @SchrodingersEconomy I guess not "locally grown" per se, but small town.

  • @SchrodingersEconomy I think they'll be plenty of food, even more than now because it will be profitable for North American farmers to export food to Asia. Higher food prices will allow farmers to pay top dollar for whatever energy they need. On the other hand, people who commute to non-farm jobs won't be able to pay for expensive energy.

  • 20:10 how does this guy guarantee that there won't be any policy or protocol, when in fact many governments do have such policy?

23:15 Is this guy aware of the fact that one of the main reasons why financial market is out of control is because people like Alan Greenspan incapacitated regulatory institutions such as CFTC?

man.. I try to focus on what he was saying since he is a 'highly respected author' but this guy needs to pop his own bubble first before try to lecture others.

  • Uprated, favorited.

  • When someone like Kunstler says 'I'm allergic to conspiracy theories' that means he doesn't want to lose his readers. It doesn't matter weather he's in denial or not. he would say the same thing.

  • I'm sorry but saying "there is not a clack of elitist opportunists out there trying to steal our freedom" is flat out denying the dynamics of the various tyrannies that have plagued mankind throughout history. Such a statement is daft and you need to look in the mirror when playing the denial card.

What, is modern man to evolved for such now? When did the elites get sprinkled with holy water? I missed the memo.

  • This was FANTASTIC. Kunstler is dead on. He's really thought this out. He's said before, that we probably won't have the "Dark Ages" coming up; probably the "Dim Ages".

I'm glad to know his opinion on silver.

    Thanks Warren.

  • FANTASTIC INTERVIEW...James sums it up perfect in his opening statement. Humans are in denial. When we get past that we can address the issues. The upcoming paradigm shift will be an opportunity to grow spiritually. Very good realistic opinion of the world we live in and where w care headed!! THANKYOU!!!!

  • The top commenters are being stubborn, What Mr Kunster was reffering to in not believing in Consipracies is that the Illumanati or Masons have been planning collapse and enslavement for thousands of years. That is what he is reffering to. Now whether those PTB are looting the coffers while the collapse is happening is another story which they are.

The rejectionist don't like what these two are saying because they don't want to accept the small amount of responbility they have in all this.

  • @valhala56 A good 30+ minute interview, and they get hung up on one word. Exactly on the responsibility aspect.

  • @YouSayYouWantA IMHO some people don't want to accept the fact that they share some culpability in their use of Credit, Oil, Spoiling the enviroment and NOT PROTESTING THE WARS. They ridiculed the Dixie Chicks when they protested the war, they laugh at Code Pink. Now we are staring down ICBM tubes at WW3 & nobody is protesting the coming war in Iran.

They want to blame all this on the Controllers, the Wizard of Oz behind the curtain & not accept they we share responsibility to some extent.

  • @valhala56 {not believing in Consipracies is that the Illumanati or Masons have been planning collapse and enslavement for thousands of years}

That is a strawman mis-characterization. Man has always striven to enslave his fellows, and secret associations, alliances and subversive cabals have always been the most effective players.

Also, the collapse is not so much planned, but understood as inherent and further utilized. The rapist kills for a reason.

  • @mindprism Really and what would you call the Civil War? The Emancipation Proclamation?

Yeah there are people out there who want to enslave others. My point was that people refuse to take any responsibility themselves for the collapse. they want to blame a Mysterious Wizard of Oz Character. I am not saying the PTB do not bear the bulk of the responsibility but we all share some responsibility. Tell me What have you done to protest the wars, How about Peak Oil, US Empire? I bet you have nothin!

  • @valhala56 I take no handouts from our govt, nor do I comply with their extortion. I have, nor had any debt. And I protest and try to enlighten everyone I know to the true nature of themselves and this violent organization. I am not quite seen as a kook by my fellows, but close enough. I hover barely above poverty. My personal responsibility for this clusterfuck is measured in the negative. Saw it coming around 1997 as soon as I grasped our money system - the real culprit here.

  • Excellent conversation, Mr. Kunstler has had my attention since I read the Long Emergency years ago.

  • Thanks again Warren. Great interview. I thought of Dmitri Orlov just as Mr. Kunstler mentioned him. I just had to laugh. Looking forward to your next post as I prep.

  • Can't thank you enough Warren for being a regular dependable source of insightful, dependable videos

  • In 1891 (per historical study in Maine) the average worker had 6 weeks off of work. I've only had (2) one-week vacations in my working life. Technology has not given the promised returns of time investment .

  • god forbid you say the term "Singapore Model" Warren. Certain people of certain economic bent might see that as govt planning, and not "Free Market" which as we all know is the answer to Everything. Which is ironic since Mr. Jim Rogers, a cheerleader for that particular economic fantasy, lives in a state controlled planning model country of Singapore.

  • @mrzack888 ..."that particular economic fantasy".

Sorry, Warren, I couldn't hold my tongue....

Mr. mrzack888, there are many different types of economic fantasy (including yours).

Reality seems to play out more like a Quentin Tarantino film.

  • @safeinsuburbia Singapore model is no fantasy mind you, it's very real and so is that certain economic fantasy I hint about. You can see it in Somalia.

  • @mrzack888 "Singapore model is no fantasy mind you"

Good luck, applying that to Americans, in our current state of affairs.

    I admire your optimism, though.

  • many interesting points and perspectives - worth a watch - thanks

  • sounds like hes a prepper in denial

  • I read most of his work, its good stuff.

  • i think kunstler is in denial of a new world order ruling group of illuminati elites.

  • what will allow this transtion to local is innovation...the very thing that has made the world global...but, if we are innovative then why not remain global?

i believe in our ability to be innovative...it seems that al the contraints that we now allow will be removed and the doom and the gloom will have been a fantastic vision of the worst in humanity...something we all can relate to.

time will disprove us all, as usual, so what are we all preparing for?

answer: it is the end of conspiracies.

  • James hasn't heard of the new start-up company called Lazarus (an EPA subsidised division of Solyndra). Their flagship product is a 1.2 jigawatt solar panel with a free flux capacitor. Great interview. Thanks Warren!

  • Can't say I disagree with him. I will look into his writing. I guess the thought about small farming towns coming back is plausible to me as long as there is some efficient form of transportation to that town from nearby coastal or waterway export cities, i.e. train. The pre-Eisenhower map of the U.S. seems relevant for envisioning life without everyday highway/interstate transport.

  • Wow this is awesome. Warren would you please look into the writings of John Michael Greer (his blog is thearchdruidreport dot blogspot), whom James knows well.

  • Wow JHK your awesome

  • Reality is different for every person that experiences it. That being said, it is quite easy to manipulate peoples. Manipulate what they think about, what there goals in life should be, etc... The TV is the tool that does most of the work. Were being lied too everyday, truth is buried deep under the pile of $%?".

Do I think some peoples are benefiting from all this? Of course... why else go through all that trouble?

Are those peoples all part of a conspiracy? Most likely not. There just Wolfs

  • @frenchy137

Wolfs hidden with 7 billions of sheep's around them.

  • Mr Kunstler, could you please explain, 'The Sacrifice of Care' performed at Bohemian Grove, Lol.

I watched 2 minutes, that will do.

  • lol, polish blanket trick..

  • I am not a fan of conspiracy either, but I think this guy IS in denial. Who is causing all these wars. It is a small group of war profiteers. For this guy to say that there isnt a group of people that have much more power than the average citizen that are controlling things is laughable.

This two guys are in denial, but many others see the situation for what it is.

  • @ifyouseakaimee 90% of the "alternative media" are shill scum. I dont trust either one of these men in the least. They are both totally dependent on this system and their survival and lifestyle are dependent on it continuing. Both of these men have been pimping themselves out as much as possible on whatever media outlet will allow them to spew their own propaganda. This wepollock guy is a financial industry leach of society as he pretends to be against the system. LOL

  • @freeunitedusa If you listen to the end Kunstler takes responsibility for destroying the world for the next generation instead of blaming it on a small group of war profiteers as you would do.

  • @freeunitedusa Google JH Kunstler and you'll understand why he says what he does about who controls the US...

  • @freeunitedusa Interesting comment! However its more interesting your channel is not activated for people to view it! "I smell a troll trolling"

  • Thanks for posting this good video. I think we live in a nation of liars. Honesty is considered ``old-fashion´´.
