oh my god you can play, wish i could pick like that, im thinking of selling my line 6 half stack and saving up for the duel rec with a cab but is the single rec pretty much as good?
Very good video. You finally show good skills in these style ;) PLEASE give us your settings... I have a single rectifier and I search this kind of tone (at the end, on the rythm metal moment).
Hey, I was wondering what you would say comes out as a winner when comparing the stiletto and the rectifiers. I am looking for something to tour with and I'd like to know which one is better for an alternative/rock genre of music.
@flowerdrop1 it has a snappier, punchier high end, and i like the feel of it better. that said, I still love my S3 w/ an indian rosewood fingerboard..
Triaxis/290 setup through recto cab in lead yellow (290 in deep mode) is the smoothest lead tone I've heard. Plenty of articulate midrange and punch with zero fizz/buzz. Just the right amount of air around every note anywhere on the fretboard and every note is heard regardless of playing speed.
your shitty computer speakers are picking up better sound off your single rectifier than my e609 is placed in thousand of different spots and combinations. isn't that sad. and it still sounds better after youtube condensed the sound file for me to hear it. FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU
@dmb3305 check out a video called "scott splawn playing the nitro" and then "splawn quickrod sampler". pretty good stuff. i see you have marshall on there at no.2, splawn, bogner, orange, etc are kinda voiced after that sound so youll prlly dig them.
This sounds really good. I just got an older Dual Rectifier solo head a few days ago, and it sounds great. I'd love to play through this in person. Right now I'm kinda diggin my dual rectifier a little more, but what would you say are some of the main differences tone wise, both set up the same way, in the same room?.. I'm only asking cause you seem like a mesa expert =)
The difference between single and dual is the Power ( 50 and 100 Watt) and the dual has a "Chrunch" channel is this right ? Are the lead sounds the same ? sorry for bad englisch
First off man - great sound and great playing. Second - anyway we can get your settings based on clock referencing (i.e. volume - 5 o'clock master -6 bass -3 and so on)? Third - beautiful guitar I might add!
I like that lick from 1:01 to 1:14, specifically 1:10 to 1:13, what is it that you're doing there? I'd appreciate if you would get back to me on this, because that kind of shred is my style and I'd like to add that sort of lick to my vocabulary :)
mostly just use my ear to dial in the tone... i put my ear directly in front of the speakers, so i get a true signal of my sound.. i try to get lots of mids, only the lowest necessary amount of lows (we have bass players for sub-low frequencies :D ) i put the highs to taste, and i usually have the presence set pretty low on my amps..
Cool guitar dude, and cool amp, by the way, where do you film this, Its seem very cold, haha, sorry I live very near of a desert so, here its a pretty hot weather all year long.
the MKV wins for what i am after.. crazy good clean tones, and great smooth high gain tones.. the stiletto is great for the hotrodded marshall tones (though the MKV does those too), and the recto is good for really high gain rhythm stuff.. The clean isn't bad on the Recto, but nothing like the stilettos or the marks.. The Recto lacks in lead tones.. It has a buzzy top end, which works for rhythm, but not lead
the orange 212 by far, as long as you're not scared to lug it! but thats only for my specific tastes.. the recto 212 has more of a scooped sound, and i go for a very mid-voiced tone.. the stiletto 212 is easier to lug, and falls more into that category!
yo, it was an orange 212 cabinet.. i have a recto 212 here now, and i much prefer the orange.. i'm waiting to get a stiletto 212 cab-- better suited for my style
Awesome, but harsh to compare with MarkV.

The mk v better suits your playing style. IMHO rectifiers only shine in the huge nasty power chord and low gain chunky southern dept.
