Only basic medical costs are covered by health care (paid for by taxes and provincial charges like MSP), dental and extended med are thru private insurance. There is medical tourism to the US does but is very expensive. Value judgement: cheap vs fast. Chill out!

All systems have faults i agree, but the NHS saves the poor as well as the rich. No one is treated differant. I'm glad I'm raising my children here. I seriously dont see the problem with Public Healthcare. I live in Canada and its not that bad. Im not saying all Americans think this way but having Government run healthcare isnt going to make the US a socialist country or anything. There's way to many people who dont want to work in this country and there enabled not to by the welfare state. @target141 Thanks for your opinion target. There is a LOT of misinformation and deception in the US mainly because of some very powerful special interest groups, i.e. rich, greedy corps. They will do anything to protect their huge profits and control of the current health care in the US. It is definitely broken, with approx 50 million Americans uninsured. They can get emergency care but generally cannot access general health care without a lot of out of pocket expense. Canada HC is excellent!!!!
