Ok, further to what I put just below, yeah it does sound like Andy being weird and singing Paul-like but then I used to think he sang all the songs on every album till told otherwise, when I first got into them in 1998. & if Andy IS singing this, why the hell has Paul given up on vocals? I think that defo harms the album. Paul lost his voice and confidence? This song so suits Paul as it's sung in his gentle style. Andy you greedy git!
Perfect-their longest song-and Paul singeth it! Take that McCluskers. Still, there are obviously two very heavy concessions sadly. 1) This will not be a single, making it generally the 1st album they done as a unit with him not singing on one. 2) Paul's voice doesn't pop up on any other of the 12 songs-annoyingly rude as these are the most tunes ever on one OMD album-even their 80s stuff (of which only 1 album had a normal 10max!) he would sing a few lines or do a voiceover in an Andy-sung tune.
@gummybits Sorry but how can Andy be singing it in the same voice that Paul uses on 'Promise', 'Souvenir', '4-Neu', 'Never Turn Away', 'Secret' & '(Forever) Live And Die'. I will only believe this when I see Andy sing it live & then I'll expect an explanation why Paul isn't performing it. I'll put it on again but I KNOW Paul is singing it. And, apart from having Andy with him through 'Electricity', why now would he not choose 1 song out of 13 on a new album when he always did so past?
Please note that this is literally a re-arrangement of Komputer's "Looking Down On London (Metroland)' from 1996. Don't know if this is intentional (very probably is) - not that Komputer were any more original on their ode to Kraftwerk but this is rather confusing... although a nice example of to where 'History of modern' should have gone more...
Its Andy singing.

I find myself wanting to sing "we love you" at the end of the verse

Such a beautiful tune. I believe this is their longest ever track but I could listen to it several times over.

A brillant album. OMD is one of my favourite 80s Bands and i still love their new "old" sound. ^^
