@readingjewel Not to bash your opinion or anything, but to say FIM is better simply for those reasons alone is nothing more than a fallacy. If you really like Faust, you should know that she created FIM to pick up where G1 ended, not to show how G1 should've been. Lauren loved G1 and wanted it to continue, but she had to make a few changes

Wow... I didn't know the early MLP was so... different. Poor animation, plots that center on stupid villains instead of character development, continual annoying orchestration... not for me.

@amishcyborg They get character development, but it's more gradual because there's more episodes. You needed 65 for syndication back then. The musical numbers - well, when you hire highly-talented singers for your voice roles, why not make use of their singing abilities?

The animation isn't the best, but Toei probably put the most effort into this out of all the other Hasbro-toyline-based Sunbow cartoons (This show, The Transformers, and G.I. Joe - A Real American Hero).

LF claims she hated the old TV series, but a lot of the scenes are uncannily similar. G4 Twilight's confrontation with NM is reminiscent of the final fight in Rescue at Midnight Castle, and the similarity between the old west scene in ep 21 of FiM and the performance scene in MLP: The Movie were almost identical. Although if not for the fact that Spike was the one playing piano in FiM ep 21, it would actually be closer to the CMC performance in ep 18.

Well the flutter pony's made refrence to the fact that the pony's are "never late" implying that they have been there at least a few times, one can assume that Baby Cuddles was around by then and even though this is the first time she has gone, she would have wanted to know why her friends are going away for a bit and there is no reason they would not have told her.
