Wilson was an arrogant self-centered power hungry jerk who cheated on his first wife.  He needlessly involved the U.S. in the war and stupidly upset the balance of power in Europe. His idealistic League was unworkable (except in regulating minor disputes on which the major powers could agree), and the discontent that was sowed led to the Second World War. Wilson was one of the worst U.S. Presidents of all time.

What about the Manchurian crisis? Where Japan took over Manchuria and the league couldn't do anything about it...because Japans trading partner was Chin and the US rather than europe, and logistically troops couldn't be sent there either, since it was on the other side of the world...only the US or USSR could logistically use force to remove the Japs, and they weren't members, which encouraged Mussolini and Hitler to take action as they did! It set the ball rolling...
