  • Is that lens too much zoom on a 40d for portraits ?

  • Canon has one n ( Canon) not 2 but Cannon gas fires have 2

  • It's like a bomb case or something..

  • 17-55 mm f/2.8

  • i have this lens and i love it! nice video!

  • ive dream this lens for 2 month and ive finally got it :DDDDDD

  • @zack5024

question how was it when youre shooting indoors also inside the nigth club?

can you get a better pics?

  • @mitsubishidiamante

i dont know bro :D cause when i go clubbing i never bring my dslr. my monthly routine is going ti forest and take a picture at there :D AND IT WAS AWESOME

  • ITS 70-TWO HUNDRED... NOT 70- TWOHURRRED...!!!! DAMMMM LOL

  • Interesting you open this up and put it on your camera with out inspecting the lens glass at each end....... this would have been the first things I would do....

  • youre Camera looks Sexy with that Lense

  • "should be the uhh...yeaaah, f/2.8"....shouldn't you know? considering how different the 2.8 is from the 4?

  • I would buy it...because it isn't really expensive ...600€

  • @Guikri That's the 70-200mm f/2.8L IS USM (Original not the Mark II). I think they still go for around 1200 euros. The one you are talking about is the 70-200mm f/4L USM without IS.

  • Thank's daven

  • cool!

  • I was wonder how important (IS) is on the lens. Thinking of purchasing one but could not really decide between Canon EF 70-200mm f2.8 IS II USM or Canon

EF 70-200mm f2.8 USM the price is different about Canadian $ 1000.

  • @ihavedick4u It really depends on the way you shoot. I like to have it cuz I like to not use my tripod all the time. I shoot mostly just holding the camera with my hands most of the time, and often in low light. So the IS comes in handy in those situations. The ll is the newest version of that lens and has some advanced IS features. So if you want to save some money buy the older one if you dont need those features and the older IS is ok.

  • @jjdaven i just bought the 70-200 non is... and due.. you dont need it trust me. i dont shoot with a tripod and its amazing. seriously great value. The images are so crisp and clear, and especially if you have an external flash like the 430ex2.... lack of is will not be a problem, of course you dont want to go anywhere below 60, or even 80th of a second. but its great for daytime use.

  • @ihavedick4u

The IS is very nice to have at the longer focal lengths.

About the Mk 1 and 2 lenses.. The Mark 2 is way nicer, we all know that by now. But question yourself, do you think it's the premium price bonus nicer? To me it wasn't (and I use it for school and income). The Mark 1 lens is a great lens, used for a long time before the mark 2 came out. Found myself a great deal on a used lens, and now it's pretty much stuck to me camera.

  • @ihavedick4u if you are using the non IS version and you shoot in low light at 200mm then use a tripod. If you don`t have one then use the rule of thumb about shutter speed (i.e at 200mm use 1/200 shutter speed) and crank up your ISO.Another one,use the AI servo to keep your subject in focus.Hope this one would help.

  • @ihavedick4u Everything he said is correct, but I would also consider the fact that both lenses you are considering have a max aperture of 2.8, so even in low light conditions, you should be able to maintain a higher shutter speed, allowing for crisper images. Remember, IS only compensates for the photographer's shaky hands, not a moving subject. However, I believe this new IS II has a unique panning feature as well, which I'm sure is excellent for sports.

  • @ihavedick4u i would highly recommend the IS version, I used to have the non IS and I rarely used it due to shaky images. Now I have the f2.8 IS Mark ii and it works incredibly well. It spends a lot of time on my camera and the IS means you can away with handheld shutter speeds as low as 1/2 sec with care!! The Mark i is good but the Mark ii is considerably better in terms of sharpness, flare and contrast, also the IS is a lot better.

  • Everybody needs to rent from lensprotogo com They are by far the easiest, most professional company to do business with. One of the most satisfying experience i've had working with a company. I can't say enough good things about the company.

  • @tragictheory In the risk of sound like a "kiss ass", they really are the best camera gear rental out there. Paul will do anything he can to make sure you get what you need when you need it and in excellent shape. A real CLASS act!!

  • You really need to tell people the f-stop, you could be showing me a $600 lens or a $3000 lens....

  • Comment removed

  • You really need to listen to the videos you watch ....

    3:00 "yeah, the F 2.8"

  • @brenttaylordotus Awesome so just give me a second to watch through 3 minutes of confusion and bullshit until he finally gives it away. In the title or description would be great if thats not to much trouble for you...

  • if you were confused by that video, no amount of description in the title is going to help . . .

  • @sibrent1 I mean if he included the f-stop....that might have helped....enough with these retards making comments on youtube, its getting ridiculous.

  • u said they were sending u this lence in 2 weeks ?? When i ordered 50 mm nikkor f1.8 upc provided me that lence in 2 days

  • what is your other lens?

  • Nice video! I actually need to get a lens for a trip, and will be using this service!

  • thats the only reason why i would go cannon, they make some sexy lenses :)

  • @owendart Its definatly something to concider is the glass. Thanks for watching.

  • how is it so big??? i have a 40D nd didnt like the 28-135mm so i got the Sigma 18-250mm and it zooms more then that lens nd its quite smaller...

  • I am sure that Sigma doesn't have the aperture or it's speed. This is some very nice glass.

  • its big because of the constant bright aperture of 2.8.

  • They have really great service(atleast so far; first time user). I ordered around 5am and Paul called me 2 hours later to confirm the order. And when asked where I heard about them from, I told them J Davenport on Youtube.

  • Thanks for telling him you heard it here. And I hope you enjoy your experience and happy shooting!!

  • Hey what i kind of battery grip are you using?is it good? I recognize it's not canon's grip. Gd review btw!

  • I am using a Photix grip. I think that is how you spell it. I even posted a video on it. I love it! It was half the price and works like a charm. It has never let me down and I have shot a ton with it.

  • Hi do you doing Bro. Where I can see the pics. That you took with this wonderful L series white lens and also is thise lens is IS?

  • They are on flickr. I am abqtrucker on there, enjoy.

  • Oh my bad yes it has IS.

  • you are an employee of lensprotogo-- nice fakery- but you dont fool me..

  • Ha-ha, that's funny. I am a truck driver and amateur photographer and beer reviewer. Not a Lensprotogo employee.

  • Are there any requirement to be a beer reviewer?

    such as education? (certificate?)

  • Nope! Just a good personality and the will to do so. All you need is a microphone and a camcorder or webcam and you are in business. Thank you watching.

  • I shot a local high school game with that lens also and and it was tons of fun.

  • hahah just aftr this i went to rent the same 70-200 2.8 for my 40D! I cant wait!

  • Oh cool you will have to let me know what you whole experence was like and what you think of this lens.

  • Haha. Your reaction is priceless... getting giddy when mounting it.

  • Haha thanks very much for watching.

  • Cannon or Canon? lol

  • Haha I did spell that wrong but you get the point. Thanks for watching and tell a friend.

  • Im buying this lens this week if all goes well :D I cant wait!! lol

  • WOW!! You lucky dog. You will have to let me know how it goes if you get a chance I would love to know what you think. Thanks for watching and tell a friend.

  • got the lens, I love it!! It does feel a bit heavy when you first put it on but you can get use to that easily. Amazingly fast and sharp!! I cant wait to use it for the football games this fall!!

  • I am so happy for you bro. Congrats on the new lens and happy shooting.

  • Was there a filter attatched to the lens when you got it?

  • No as far as I know they don't put filters on them. At least not since the last time I rented. Thanks for watching and tell a friend.

  • Do you have news about the Mark II version?

  • I sure don't. et me know if you hear anything that would be great. Thanks for watching and tell a friend

  • i rented this lens before from borrowlenses but they didnt give me a tripod mount herra gay, but this lens takes great portraits, im gonna rent it again soon

  • The service and the little extras they put in like that from Lens Pro To Go you just can't bet them. They are the only one's I will rent from. They always make sure their equipment is top notch and clean before they send it to you. Thanks for watching and tell a friend.

  • it's canon , no cannon xD

  • Thanks for watching and tell a friend.

  • I came

  • nice review! great job! pleas more reviews!

    have a nice day.

    norm86peterson from germany

  • Thanks for watching and tell a friend.

  • This guy propper has a hard-on when connecting the lens....I did too

  • Haha, Bro it is cool when you hook it up. I never get tired of it. Thanks for watching and tell a friend.

  • Great review! I love my 40D, great camera.

  • They are great cameras!! Thanks for watching and tell a friend.

  • want that sow badly....

  • It was sure nice to have even for a while. I really miss it.

  • believe you!! been saving for 6 month now. I'l probably by it the next time Im in the states :) to expensive her in norway :( . what is the ballpark prise over the counter in the states ? liked this review, gonna see som of your beer reviews :) what's your favorite?

  • Not sure of a price. But I would guess still about $1300. As far as beer don't have a clear favorite. But I do tend to like Amber Ale's the most. Thanks for watching.

  • I use this on my 40D too, i love it so much. When shooting sports i put this on my 40D because its not a full frame which gives me some extra reach, and a 17mm on my 5D because it is full frame and i get a better wide angle. 70-200 kicks ass. u should by it

  • That is a excellent point! I really did like this lens. Some day I will buy it. But for now I get by with what I have. And it makes me get more creative. Since I don't have the best glass.

  • i'm renting a mark iii next week, i really really really want it, but i need to rent it first, then i know i'll have to buy it. i cant just buy it because i cant bring myself to do so. but if i rent it, ill buy it!

  • You hand shakes!! well I'd pee on my pants holding that hahaha

    congrats

oh and dont buy sigma It'll break in few years

  • I will keep the advice about the Sigma in mind. Thanks for watching.

  • I loved it when I had it, but it was rented so I had to send it back. :(

  • Renting a lens is kinda of a let down. You get his kick ass lens but then you have to give it back... which leaves you lacking the new inherited ability you just acquired with that beast.

  • Your right about the let down. I look at it as getting to use a lens that I am saving for to make sure I really want it. And I will rent lenses to help me shoot things I normally don't shoot. Some of these lenses are so expensive I would never get to use them any other way.

  • Yea thats a good point. Being able to try the lens out first before you buy is really helpful.

  • Isn't it called unboxing? When you say open box, it sounds like your product is refurbished. :P

  • Thanks for watching.

  • I cant wait to buy this lens!!

  • I did too. Now I am considering the Sigma for half the money.

  • I shoot at a few colleges around here during basketball season and I see quite a few Sigma 70-200's on the endlines so it's pretty popular.

  • Don't buy Sigma nor Tamron, they don't have IS which makes a big difference in your photos, save it up and get the best glass that's out there.

  • Sigma calls it OS and they are rated so high.

  • save it up to get a book about photography.... so you actually get an idea about what your talking... so will you use an IS/OC/VC on a tripod, too? cause in fact the IS is a disadventage on a tripod! do you think a 50mm 1.4 without the IS is a shitty lens?....stupid

  • With this kind of long lenses IS does give you a great advantage over the non-IS lenses by Sigma or Tamron. I think it's worth saving up for.

  • NOT ON A TRIPOD! its effecting the image quality! try it!

  • thank god they protected the pelican case :D

  • It is funny now that you mention it. But they have some good reasons for doing that. Thanks for watching.

  • canNon?!

  • Yes I am a Canon Guy!! haha.

  • I think he was just pointing out the typo in the title.

Nice review though. I have never rented a lens before, I've never actually heard of doing so, but if there is a demand, someone is bound to fill it. Just nice that that market niche was filled by a reliable source.

  • ok but you titled wrong your video!

  • Hey nice video

Im french and im looking for a way to order that lens from USA. How could i do ? Someone could receive it and ship it to me ? (trust) or maybe there's a dealer or a site that could sell it to me ?

Thanks for your help. Here its too expensive !!!!

    Pleaaaaaase

  • The only sites I can think of right now are B&H, Beach Photo and searching through ebay. Maybe try Amazon too. Sorry I couldn't be of more help, but please let me know how it goes.

  • my love 4 camers is amazin

  • I love photography as well. It's a lot of fun and I have meet a lot of people doing it. Thanks for watching. Check out some of my other video's and tell a friend.

  • What do you think about the 70-200mm f4L IS? I read that is more sharp than 70-200mm f2.8L IS,because I`ve been thinking to buy f4L for new CANON EOS 50D couse is almos $400US cheaper than f2.8L gimme your opinion or some of the youtuber.

    Thank you.

  • hi! was just going around and saw ur post. the lens is just AMAZING! :) the IS really helps. and the bokeh is superb :) hope i helped!

  • Both lenses are critically sharp, I honestly wouldn't worry about that at all if I were you. What really matters is the f/2.8 vs f/4. The f/4 has 1 more stop of stabilization while the 2.8 lets in 1 more stop of light, PLUS it has the extra-shallow DOF..but then again, you do have to pay, like, $400 more

  • Do you have photos from this lens? What do you think about the quality? :) Will you buy one? :-D

  • If you run a search on Flickr for "abqtrucker" that is me and you can look. Most pics taken from Oct. 6th on were with this lens. I can give a full review by say Tuesday if you like. Matter of fact I will and tell what else happened with this lens so stay tuned....

  • :) ok will be tuned

  • I dont want to see camera lenses LOL dude where's the beer

  • Like for most lenses.. are bodies typically more to rent?

  • Depends on the body. To rent a 40D like mine is cheap I think. But to rent a 1DS Mark III is going to cost you, but the point is you can rent it. It is a ton cheaper than buying a $8000 camera yo know. They also have flashes and most everything you might need, I put the link in the comments on the right side of the video.

  • awesome.. i might have to look into them.. BTW, thanks for subscribing and for the comments.. really appreciate it!

  • So is it pretty affordable to rent from their website?
