I don't know. I know as much as you and it looks like a staff backing to the lift for cargo.

Yes, It used to be one, I can't imagine otis would have installed that voice and display and buttons. It uses Evans doors to!! lol

I've used this lift many times in the past, sad to see it's been modernised. It used to have Evans fixtures. I always liked the goods door, glad to see that's still there!

Oh My god!!!!! for some reason i find that Lift so strange as its a public lift and a goods Lift!!!!! Usedally WHSmith use Cheap Lifts Like Stannah but super vid!!!!

Yes, But I when the lift is set to goods mode, It shuts off the main doors. I agree, They also use Evans lifts lol, Great comment!!!

A lot of the older WHSmiths used Evans lifts, and later Express Evans (With the fixtures whcih bcome worn and tatty really quickly). This is the first WHSmiths lifts i've seen which has had its buttons completely modernised. Ones i've seen modenised have just the new low level buttons installed, with the original COP left in place. I'm also suprised this was modernised by Otis, like you say, they usually go for the cheap option.

Yes, But atleast it was modernised because if it had stayed it would be scratched, slow, When I guess this one is also but I know every public place that you don't pay to visit would go for the cheap option for elevators.
