Broken panasonic camcorder. **Now fixed**

i have the exact same camera as yours but mine fell over and smashed the microphone - as far as i can see no physical damage to the circuitry but it won't record sound - plays it back fine though :(

@erikals2 It's been a VERY long time since I made this, and have since switched over to a Canon ZR930. As for the sound issue, I have no idea how to help ya on that one. Sorry.

I HAVE A CAMERA that's panasonic and it's made in japan

but the problem is that everytime i turn on the camera on

it beeps then on the screen everything was black and at the top

of the screen it had some picture and a sighn saying U10.

And when i turn it on then off again i tryed once again on everything was

ok so then i thoought whoo-hoo i've fixed it but when i put a tape in

it said the same thing before [U10].when i took off the tape i turned the cam off

then i turn it on guess what

@ultimoviaje I solved it by taking off the battery, and whacking the back firmly

i dont have the sam camcorder but

when i put in my tape and i click record the screen is still black and i took off the lens cap and still the same thing can u help or anyone

Hello, are you able to record any sound, even if you are not getting any picture? Some camcorders have been known to have faults with interpretting picture (to do with wires behind the lens) but will still record sound. Some manufacturers even repair things like that for free if it's their manufacturing defect.

I'm guessing the dew detector is there in the first place because if any water was in the tape mechanics it may result in tape salad or something, not to mention the more-obvious possibility of short circuits

Take off the battery, and whack it where the battery sits. It should work in 1 try, as id did for me.
