@Marcohazard The French SOF tend to use the M16 FOW in lieu of the FAMAS. I believe the G36 is in use as well. French Naval SOF might use some G2s, but I doubt the G1 is in use because of it's very specific ammunition requirements. You're not going to be firing the heavier, more effective 5.56 loadings out of a G1. It's doubtful the G2 would digest them very well. Hence the M16/M4 and G36.

Lol you realise accuracy has nothing to do with the gun, it has more to do with the shooter than anything else. Firearms fire rounds the same way over and over again, you have to learn to account for any quirks your particular rifle has, not every FAMAS fires the same, not every M4 fires the same. Knowing your weapon will increase your accuracy not switching to another weapon. An unaccurate shooter will always be unaccurate, an accurate shooter can learn to shoot any gun well.

And knowing your weapon includes ammunition, otherwise your gun is just a glorified stick.

By giving in to Germany (after a 2 week war with England against them) they spared most of there citizens lives. They also create some of the best weapons (the FAMAS). The guns good, but dosnt compare with a g36 or m16, i like the three shot burst but i dont like the top piece of the gun, looks a bit weird. Atleast they use a gun they designed though, theres a sense of pride in that.
Put it this way, M16 has had a GREAT life, 50 years now and is the father to all modern assault rifles if only in calibre... but US Army has to move on.
They need a new rifle, bullpup or some way of getting longer barrel with shorter weapon and reduced weight

DoD is already working on a new cartridge, a caseless telescoped cartridge called LSAT, they need a weapon that takes advantage of that, something to improve rifleman's firepower.
I think accuracy of rifle fire while standing can be greatly improved with the weapon weight closer to the shoulder, as with a bullpup design.
There are so many more factors than bullpup/conventional that affect accuracy, they exceed the space available on YouTube to even mention them.
The bottom line is to look at actual trials results. The FAMAS is NOT the most accurate rifle in the world. But it doesn't need to be. It's a close-in infantry weapon. If it can hit a man-size target at 300 meters then that's accurate enough. The important thing for a battle rifle is that it goes "bang" every time the trigger is pulled.

@kumagamesclan The faster reload part doesnt make any sense. reload speed is up to the user, and while I think bullpups are awesome, having to raise your arm to access the magazine can only add precious seconds on. Maybe you dont have to raise your arm with them all, but the access is still constricted.

@LaughingManz have you ever heard if the french foreign legions? they are the most bad ass special forces in the world that are in combat more then any other forces. they go to all continents fighting. 1 out of 10 die in ever mission. trust me, just because you dont see shit on the news doesn't mean its not happening. the FFL are always the first ones there and the last ones out

The guns good, but dosnt compare with a g36 or m16, i like the three shot burst but i dont like the top piece of the gun, looks a bit weird. Atleast they use a gun they designed though, theres a sense of pride in that.

Put it this way, M16 has had a GREAT life, 50 years now and is the father to all modern assault rifles if only in calibre... but US Army has to move on.
They need a new rifle, bullpup or some way of getting longer barrel with shorter weapon and reduced weight

@djjosh34445 but the M468 is almost exactly the same as the M4/M16.
DoD is already working on a new cartridge, a caseless telescoped cartridge called LSAT, they need a weapon that takes advantage of that, something to improve rifleman's firepower.
I think accuracy of rifle fire while standing can be greatly improved with the weapon weight closer to the shoulder, as with a bullpup design.

There are so many more factors than bullpup/conventional that affect accuracy, they exceed the space available on YouTube to even mention them.
The bottom line is to look at actual trials results. The FAMAS is NOT the most accurate rifle in the world. But it doesn't need to be. It's a close-in infantry weapon. If it can hit a man-size target at 300 meters then that's accurate enough. The important thing for a battle rifle is that it goes "bang" every time the trigger is pulled.

i prefer this gun compared to other guns as it is a bullpup which is quicker to reload.
there is the steyr aug but its recoil is heavy. but you have to get use to pulling the thing back underneath the handle.

@kumagamesclan The faster reload part doesnt make any sense. reload speed is up to the user, and while I think bullpups are awesome, having to raise your arm to access the magazine can only add precious seconds on. Maybe you dont have to raise your arm with them all, but the access is still constricted.
Seems like traditional patterns have the accessability advantage.
