I went to Cambodia in summer of 2009. I walked through the Killing Fields and was almost sick to my stomach. I walked through Tuol Sleng Prison nearly in tears. I watched people sifting through garbage for lunch. I played with orphaned children. I took them shoes, soap, clothes, even a little candy and ice cream.
The Khmer people are beautiful people. I hope to go back and see the friends I made.

I went to Cambodia in summer of 2009. I walked through the Killing Fields and was almost sick to my stomach. I walked through Tuol Sleng Prison nearly in tears. I watched people sifting through garbage for lunch. I played with orphaned children. I took them shoes, soap, clothes, even a little candy and ice cream.
The Khmer people are beautiful people. I hope to go back and see the friends I made.

Why don't more people know about this? I know the obvious answer is ignorance but the US always mentions the Holocaust. Why can't they also mention or teach about things like this? 1) Total civilian casualties in Vietnam were less than 4 million, and I really hope you're smart enough to figure out that not all of those were caused by the Americans. Let's keep in mind South and North Vietnam, South and North Korea, Australia, New Zealand, Thailand, China and the Soviet Union also had a hand in those. And 2) You clearly don't know what the definition of a genocide is if you think wartime civilian casualties constitute a genocide.

I felt real bad what my mom told me about my dad's side of the story, It was him his little sister who was about 2 years old and his cousin. When my dad was sent to go work at this field his little sister was crying cuz she wanted to come with him but she couldnt so his cousin had to stay with her and he had to go. I agreed on the issue that Cambodian can't interpret their own domestic policy bc that is such a shame that SokRun, a Khmer Rouge Commander, wasn't prosecute for the lost of 20 Cambodian lives but for the 3 foreigner. This show a really disrespect to the Cambodian by its own gov. 20 cambodians lives is not as valuable as 3 foreigner lives. What a Shame!

I think u might 1 2 check out about the Genocide OF Its OWn People in 1975-1979 again b4 u compare Pol Pot to Bush. It's just two different topic. It might seems that there has been many lives lost in the war but at least those people volunteer to protect their own National Defense. They live to be honored and proud of their dignity. But how the Cambodian died is completely a sacrify for nothing.
