  • And so, every movie ever was spawned.

  • AaaaaAAAAAAaaahhh!

  • @Athanase48067 Yea, that scream is everywhere!

  • This Willhelm Scream Was From Disney's Hercules

  • WRONG, check black and white films

  • it's got an extra bit on the end that sort of goes like "uh"

  • You can hear that this one is the original.

  • When me and my friend heard the WS in Red Dead Redemption we were just like, "This is the perfect western now."

  • Wilhelm scream is damn everywhere, it could be in your cellphone without you knowing it.

  • Didn't the Wilhelm scream make it into COD Black Ops?

  • I think I did a Wilhelm once, being flipped off my bike.

  • wow and to think, that's HIS actual scream! This guy is a legend!

  • Wilhelm befor he took an arrow to the knee

  • wow, movies from the 1951 sucks!

  • @ry4nmaster same as many now

  • 0:15 is the scream everyone :)

  • I used to cross rivers quickly, but then I took an alligator to the knee...

  • Notice he was still audible after he fell in the water.

  • The guy must of had alot descendents: stormtroopers, redshirts, expedible characters, and any other unknown character who died going: (wihelm scream)! lol :)

  • Makes sense, as the original sound clip is in the LucasArts database as ManGettingEatenByAlligator.???

  • It's so cheap how this is used in EVERY movie! It was funny at first but now it's just lame, It's basically been used for 50 years...

  • Just sounds like a regular scream

  • I thought it was in the 1933 king kong movie

  • 0:16 AAAAEEEEEEHAAAHH!!!

  • To all the Star Wars fans:

    GEORGE LUCAS DIDN'T ORIGINATE EVERYTHING.

In fact, Lucas paid tribute to a lot of old movies and serials. Look at the wipes in Star Wars for example. That was a tribute to the wipes used in some old serials.

BTW, this IS the first usage of the Wilhelm scream. In fact, on the original recording, there is an audio marker stating that this is a scream for being bitten by an alligator and it was around the 4th scream in the track. Get your facts straight.

  • No this is the original. Star wars just made it famous.

  • @NotSoEvilBilly ...no it didnt

  • @darklordplagueis

    By George Lucas

  • So this is where it came from! Thanks for uploading it man.

  • @TheK12314

actually, in the 1954 film Them! they use it in probably 5 scenes... as far as i know, thats where the Wilhelm scream originated.

  • @TheK12314

i take that back. this was 1953, the colorization was just added. so yes, this was the original. haha

  • @seemeno1

Yeah, I was like "The fuck is this dude talking about?", but no worries dude.

  • @TheK12314

lol, but ya. in "Them!" they use that scream like 6 times. and its the only black and white film ive seen it on. the colorization on this film is so well done, i thought this was more 60's and early 70's.

  • @seemeno1

Yeah, I think this movie came a little before "Them!", but this is the colorized version. I have this movie on DVD, and VHS, and the VHS version is in black and white.

  • WILHELM NO!!!

  • Damn the poor guy didnt had a chance

  • Mate this is a film from 1951 the sound editing back then wasn't exactly perfect this is the real deal!

  • Fake ! The guy gets underwater and the scream keeps going.

  • Wilhelm... NOOOOOOOOOOOO!!

  • its in almost every action movie with people falling

  • And to think it all started with a man getting eaten by crocodiles...

  • 0:15 AHHHH!!

  • love how you can still hear him scream when his head is underwater

  • i ever die in tragic way, before i die i will do a Wilhelm cry.

  • How did he...

  • I understand its an old movie and such but I love just how badly he falls into the water its just hilarious

  • :15

  • too bad the actor isn't nearly as convincing in his movement as the voice actor was in his scream...

  • dude theres even a wilhelm scream in suckerpunch can you believe that?

  • @Husawn Yes I can. Then again Sucker Punch is a terrible movie so I'm not sure what point you're trying to get across.

  • @shagoosty nothing really just pointing out that this scream gets around

  • @shagoosty a bunch of hot chicks kicking asses is hardly terrible

  • @jayive34 If that's what you think qualifies as a good movie I pity you.

  • If you were wondering: Its an "IN" joke in the business. "Sheb" Wooley did the original in Distant Drums. It's use is both meant to be funny and pay homage. ta

  • 00:15 The most overused "Scream" effect ever.

  • @albusron3490 got that right

  • @albusron3490 and damn happy about it

  • As usual, the first-time it was done, it made sense and was used well. Every time after that, not so much.

  • Wilhelm NOOOOOOOOOOO!

  • AAAAHH!

  • I just want to laugh lol

  • AhhhhAhhhhhah!!!!!

  • That scream makes horror scenes sound silly.

  • Peter: So, this is where the first guy got aids...

Brian: Peter, this is the first Wilhelm scream.

  • this guy is a ledgin

  • @1978camarolt ledgin?? Did you realy spell it that way? Lol

  • @tommyjohnson142 im not a good speller lol

  • Why DO they call it, "The Wilhelm Scream" was the guy who was mauled named Wilhelm?

  • @CaptainMaloy1001 no, it was Private Wilhelm from the movie Charge at Feather River, which was the guy who found it's fav. movie...and he was the one wo started the whole "LETS PUT IT IN EVERYTHING!" "GENIUS!!" thing... (funnely enough it was titled "man getting eaten by alligator" lol)

  • @geterhero Huh, that's pretty funny!

  • @geterhero "Man getting eaten by alligator" Oh thats hilarious! When you consider the fact that the Wilhelm Scream is used in Indiana Jones: Temple of Doom when the bad guy is getting eaten by alligators!!! ROFLOL

  • A legend is born.

  • @randyronald The birth of a meme

  • Dat little human-looking thing just got ate! DAMN, NATURE! YOU SCARY!!

  • That guy should have just just donkey punched that mo-fo!

  • press 5 for female version

  • death by alligator; who'd thought? this scream has since peppered virtualy every film Seems strange seeing the original. I hope the actor,or at least his family, got royalties

  • lol keep pressing 4

  • Comment removed

  • 0:14 and so it begins :3

  • So, if the guy's scream is a Wilhelm Scream, then is the girl's one a Wilhelmina Scream?

  • lol this time it actual fits in..

  • Reminds me of the Temple of Doom ending

  • I won't deny it's close, very close, but there are subtle differences to the scream we've all come to know and love.

  • Sheb Wooley did that scream for Warner Brothers, I just looked up his bio after listening to the funny Obama 2012 theme song "Welfare Cadillac" (he is best know for the song Purple People Eater), and they mention he was the creator of that scream. Not sure if this will make movies more fun to watch now or ruin them now that I know, lol.

  • I'm convinced that this is the acual screan

  • @Duffman1530 it is

  • It sounds like the woman's tryin to imitate it lol

  • It's similar...but it's not actually the same scream.

  • @saxmachine7 oh look who's trying to sound smart =D

  • @saxmachine7 no dummy, this is the exact scream that they used for "wilhelm"

  • @saxmachine7 This was actually the original scream. This movie was made 2 years before the one with the 'Wilhelm' character, who they named the scream after.

  • Go Feraligatr!

    Feraligatr used Crunch!

    A critical hit!

    It's super effective!

    The soldier fainted!

    Feraligatr gained 1,000,000 exp points!

    Feraligatr went to level 10,000!

  • I thought the first Wilhelm Scream happened in 1918. O_o

  • @abola2121

An obscure reference to "All Quiet on the Western Front." Correct?

  • @Watcher3223 Somewhat correct.

  • Was the scream named after someone called wilhelm?

  • @TheJboy88

The second time (I think) there was a character named Wilhem that gets killed by an indian and does the scream.

  • @TheJboy88

    No after a cake ._.

  • I KNEW IT WAS A SCREAMER!

  • so cool that you can hear the "wilhelm-scream" even with his head underwater ;-)

  • I noticed that there are two different versions of the wilhem scream.

  • i always thought starwars started it lol they where the first movie i herd it from

  • It actually sounds the most convincing here then in any other movie :)

  • @Thomaat007 that's because the acting is just as bad as the scream haha

  • @Thomaat007 That's because this didn't come from a sound library, he actually screamed that way.

  • @Thomaat007 Your English, on the contrary...

  • @Thomaat007 thats because its the real thing..... >_>

  • @Thomaat007 EEEEEXACTLY!!!

  • @Thomaat007 That's because this is the orginal recording.

  • Her acting is so fucking convincing :D

  • I don't understand how his scream continues after his mouth hits the water... lol

  • What happened to bros before hos?

  • If you get killed by a gator while filming a movie, you deserve to have a scream named after you.

  • So waite your partner is getin attacked by a alligator and he's fighting back and you could'nt put the girl down for 2 seconds to save him?! girls before bros i guess....

  • @YoungRollTide Aye, Hoes before Bros dawg. :)

  • What he didn't know was that his scream would be the most famous in the history of the universe

  • i wonder if the guy gets royaltys

  • it came from that guy in that movie most people dont know that but he did that the sounds just a little off on evrything in that clip

  • I like how fake the alligator bite is. It's like he's pretending to faint at first, then the scream is still going as he's already submerged into the water.

Interesting to find out where this came from originally though.

  • This is the scream of gawd

  • now, that translates to, "AWWWW SHIIIIT, FUUUUUCK!!!!!"

  • You know what's really sad? Nobody knows that name of the guy who voiced the Wilhelm Scream because there's no record of who was being recorded for that sound bite. It's one of the most recognizable sound effects in Hollywood and we don't even know from whom it actually came!

  • @10INTM It is purportedly Sheb Wooley, and his widow confirms it.

  • @chinadollsyndrome That's according to Wikipedia, but according to other sources, they merely say it is "likely". There is still no official record, but I suppose Sheb Wooley is the most "likely" suspect.

  • @10INTM its from a guy named Private Wilhelm.

  • @hulkfan97 Private Wilhelm is a FICTIONAL character from a movie that came two years after this one. They think it was Sheb Wooley, but there is not official record.

  • this is not the original.. !

  • @misterdoctorJ yes it is.

  • soldier: AHHHHH..!!

    girl: HAAA..!!!

  • That cant be right.. The scream continues as the guy enters the water and a little after

  • @charleswoww That's just bad editing, since the scream was done separately and added later.

  • I know this is the first, but I think the three uses in The Charge at Feather River made the scream popular.

  • it sounded similar, but it wasnt the willhem scream

  • @TheMotionMan112 It was, it's the original.

  • @TheMotionMan112 It's the original, retard.

  • @TheMotionMan112 this was the original one. People have tweaked and modified the scream slightly to fit the film they are doing better.

  • Lulz at 0:16 - I have this as text message sound.

  • DID YOU KNOW: According to some sources, the man who originally performed this scream was Sheb Wooley, best known for his 1958 Novelty Song "Flying Purple People Eater"

  • Not really, the first wilhelm dream was at a 1951 movie called "Distant Drums"

  • @Brognor This is distant drums

  • @Brognor Sheb Wolley was a voice extra in the movie Distant Drums and is given credit by many for being the original performer of this scream.

  • and so it was born

  • He starts to fall really slow, then he just fucking jumps off. LOL

  • 0:16 keep replaying!

  • AUGGHHH

  • Note to self: never walk across deep, swampy waters. And never fill pipe on horseback.

  • @OiTabemashou would you wanna mess with 3 alligators?

  • interior crocodile alligator, I'm a safari-man annihilator

  • these girl screams like seagull

  • 0:16

    keep clicking for the lolz

  • For once the scream actually seems to fit the action :P

  • AUGGHHH

  • Anyone else just keep replaying the HAaaaAAaaaA! scream of that chick at 0:17? God that cracks me up. That should be used in every movie. Introducing the Wilma scream.

  • ...Why does everyone just stand there?

  • I like the Girls imitation of the scream :) hahaha

  • 0:15

  • 7 people thought it was originally from star wars.

  • @lulznifedbutdidntdie or wilhelm

  • Sounds quite camp here, especially with the dive he does

  • was it really used in generator rex?

  • Well it isnt the first wilhem scream... the first is in this movie but in the previous attack, an indian shooted

  • Holy Shit. He got eaten by an alligator....let's stand here and watch. You look distraught. Good.

  • @COMICRlf Let's make sure we stay in the water too, in case the alligators are still hungry.

  • 0:15 Scream

  • 0:18 that's some great acting right there

  • @Cstyle12 lol; similarly in regards to the guy who got bitten by an alli...

  • they r realy bad actors

  • Sorry, but "Charge at Feather River" wasn't the first movie with the Wilhelm. It was first used in 1951 for the film "Distant Drums" - two years before "Charge at Feather River"

  • @SirEki This clip IS from Distant Drums.

  • @jamesvolunteer I think SirEki got confused because this scene takes place IN a river. :)

  • @subtracktion ha ha ha. Yes I think you're right. To be fair, a LOT of rivers have been featured in films over the years.

  • ahhh the ancestor of the Stormtroopers!

  • I think the woman's scream afterward is just as funny. xD

  • Thumb down the guy who says that it was in '53, he's on the page 8.

  • I hate when people say ''Thumbs up if you agree or like thumb up!'' Thumbs up if you agree!
