San Jose is not my team, and in case you didn't know - Welly has lit up the Canadian hockey scene for many years in Belleville, Windsor, Toronto, Vancouver and beyond. Look deeper into his statistics, or Youtube videos. He is just a phenom. Very well known outside of San Jose.... in fact, I would posit to you that too few in San Jose appreciate him.

@higherness Okay, I'm not going to argue that Wellwood isn't a good player. That would be asinine. But there is no way you can compare him to a player like Crosby. Wellwood has never won an award in the NHL in 7 (?) years. Crosby has won the Art Ross, Hart Memorial, and the Lester B. all in the same year. He's only had two seasons in his career where he's scored less than 100 points and both seasons he played less than 55 games each.

I do agree, however, that there are too few hockey fans..
