@FlamingTroller The original Tetsujin 28 came out in the 60's, Convoy/Optimus Prime was first concieved in the early 80's (before Transformers), this show Tetsujin28FX was made in 1992 and by the same toy company; Takara.

今川版の鉄人に出て来る正太郎は弱々しいのが納得出来ない。鉄人­に愛着もない。

正義を信じて鉄人と共に戦う正太郎君が存在の意味をなしていない­。

同じ昭和が舞台でも、近未来が舞台でもいいから元気をもらえる鉄­人のアニメを作って欲しい。

　この時からオックスが29号として活躍し始めたんでしたね。出来­れば最終回に出た30号の活躍も欲しかったです。あれもなりはち­みっこいけど正統の鉄人シリーズの最新型なんですから。

@GladDestronger In this opening, it also show his partner; Black Hawks (I guess that's what it's name is) I only had a Japanese toy ad by Takara to go by.

takara the company who does the overseas work with the transformers? just how many franchises did they help with?

@GladDestronger Takara was the company that created the oiriginal molds of the toys that became The Transformers. Hasbro saw them and brought the licence to sell them as Transformers, Takara liked the storyline that Hasbro produced so they used it as well to re-establish the Diaclone Car Robots and Microman's Micro Change lines in Japan. They sold Tetsujin28FX and Black Hawks, probably in various sizes and I guess a few other toys as well but I'm not 100% sure.
