And in the 1948 war, about which those claims were made, hundreds of thousands of Jews were expelled from their homes, both in Palestine (e.g, Jerusalem), and from Muslim countries.

And again, show me a news article (or articles) that provides the number of Palestinian civilians killed in the past week, along with their names. (You claim Palestinians are killed every day, so that shouldn't be too difficult.)

You are mistaken. Jews have lived in Israel for thousands of years, long before the Arabs arrived in the region. There have been Jewish communities in places like Jerusalem, Hebron, and Safed for centuries upon centuries.

Actually, Jerusalem had had a Jewish majority for over a century before Jerusalem's Jews were attacked in 1948, and half of Safeds population was Jewish in the 16th century before they were murdered in a series of massacres.
But you prove my point: Jewish numbers were kept small in what was then known as Palestine through murder and other forms of persecution. If not for these crimes, Jews would have been a far greater percentage of Palestine.

He was a teacher, especially known for his devotion to children. He had seven children of his own, the youngest of whom is 2 months old.

For example, during Israel's attack on Gaza, Mohammed and his two sons waited for a lull in the fighting so they could flee to join the rest of their family. They weren't far from the farmhouse when they came under a hail of bullets from Israeli soldiers. All of them were shot. They suffered from severe injuries and one son was immediately killed, but this story is one of a million. These people are terrorists, eh? Please stop arguing with me until you start watching REAL news and reading books

Muslimah, dear, I know it's hard to accept but it is a fact: your Muslim brothers and sisters attack civilians daily. Most of their attacks are unsuccessful, due to G-d's help and IDF measures, but give the Arabs some credit: they don't give up; they are constantly planning and attempting to carry out attacks.
For example, in the last 2 weeks, Kassam rockets were launched at Israeli cities, a bomb failed to explode on a public road, Arabs stoned Israeli cars and injured 2 people...

And these are only the attacks that made the news, and only in the last 2 weeks.
As for Palestinian deaths, can you give me your sources so that I, too, can be informed? Apparently the Arab news sites that I read have some very poor reporting, as they have not mentioned any civilian deaths.

This newly-orphaned 16 year old boy, in his moment of agony, screamed through his sobs: "For my father's sake, we will NOT seek revenge against the Arabs, because we are human beings and we don't shoot people for no reason."
These are the kind of people the terrorists are attacking.

Here's your mistake: you are judging right and wrong by the number of deaths on each side. Leaving aside that your numbers are completely off, judging by numbers is illogical. If 3 people attacked you, and you were able to fight them all off, does that make you the aggressor (because 3 people are now injured but you are not)? Or just the better fighter?

Your numbers were obtained from unreliable sources, and misrepresent the facts.
In any case, Israel took all possible precautions to avoid civilian death. If Hamas hadn't put their own people in danger, and if the Palestinians had heeded the thousands of leaflets Israel dropped on Gaza prior to the war (warning Palestinians of the danger to come and that they should stay away from certain areas for a short time), there would have been even fewer civilian deaths.

I use my own intelligence to determine the truth. I follow a variety of news sources - conservative, liberal, Israeli, Arab, Western - and I read it all critically. I pay attention to which articles have inconsistencies and which back up their statements with facts.

Re: Sharett: The region was populated by both Jews and Arabs (among others) in 1914; If and when Sharett said "conquer a country," he meant to create a country through purchase of land not already owned by Jews. Not even Arabs claim that Jews attacked them at that time, and there was clearly no country already in existence.

Arabs claim they were terrorized and were forced to leave their villages. In fact this has become well documented by several JEWISH historians . The argument in Israel is not if that happened, because its well known that it did . The argument is whether that was ethical or not.
As for your claim that both were living there. According to the United Nations, by 1948 when the two state solution was offered 10% of the population was Jewish (ironically they were offered 50% of the land).

You're referring to Arab claims made much later, in 1948 (not 1914). And true or not, these claims were made after the Arabs indisputably massacred and expelled Jews from cities in which they had lived for thousands of years (e.g., 1929 riots in Hebron, Gaza, and elsewhere).
And in the 1948 war, about which those claims were made, hundreds of thousands of Jews were expelled from their homes, both in Palestine (e.g, Jerusalem), and from Muslim countries.
