It's hilarious that he can't get through the song without laughing and I mean that in a good way. I love the videos/recordings where he cracks up thinking about something. While he was the ultimate professional, even he didn't take himself too seriously at times.
@robin56 ,,,,Because the audio and video are diffrent. The audio is from about 1970 probably Las Vegas. The video is from the 1973 Satelite show from Hawaii. There was VERY LITTLE video available of Elvis because of his manager Tom Parker. There just isn't that much so with Elvis people try and mix and match his material.
@airthief36 elvis wont be forgot in 30-40 years. Im 13 and listen to Elvis. I had my room as elvis for 6-7 years. So in 30-40 years im gonna be 43-53. I should be alive then if i don't fall out of a treestand or do something stupid. I will bring this music to my kids and make sure they grow up with this music like I am now. and im glad i am growing up with it.
I discovered Elvis when I was in 4th grade. Now I am 19 and I can listen to Elvis 24 hours a day and 7 days a week. off course i listen to other music, too. but Elvis is my passion. I love every single song of him much more than any other from any other musician. when I'm down I put on e.g."Riding the Rainbow" and I'm feeling better immediately. i cannot imagine a life without Elvis. simply impossible.I will be an Elvis forever...till I die...and even longer. TCB Sebastian
"Elvis will be forgotten in about 30-40years" Is that so? Cant see how mate, you must be confused with Pink,The Red Hot Chillie Peppers,Michael Booblay,Justin Bieber and all the others whose names escapes me.
@airthief36 Stop talking bullshit. Elvis will never be forgotten. he will live on forever. till the world ends and even longer. forever the king. rockin' the whole universe now. TCB Sebastian
He played in such many shit films when he could make a lot of money performing all over the world. Col. Parker didn t choose the best strategy for Elvis, that s my opinion
I will never forget what Priscilla said about this song. She witnessed that she was travelling by car with Elvis, and suddenly on the radio Kentucky Rain was played for the first time. For her and especially for Elvis was a totally unique feel. He loved slower songs, he loved melodies like Suspicious Minds, Kentucky Rain, In The Ghetto more than ordinary rock n roll songs!
@bigcheese1973 You probably will get a lot of responses to this but I'll add to it. NO I did not know that. What a great trivia question to ask. Thank you so much for sharing this. That's very nice. A great tribute to both of them.
@tfireman37 Your comment is so true. The bottom line is ...choices. People that are such giants among the average people also have choices. They just have an easier time supplying their bad ones.
the video is from Suspicious Minds seemily at the same concert cause he is wearing the same cloths. Watch that one too and you will see. He must have thought this was a funny song.
He is way loaded in this live audio version. Sad version of a great song. The video is from the same time period, but he is not singing Kentucky Rain in this video.
Great song and great video but they don't go together. The song was recorder live in concert at a Vegas dinner show in 1969, and the video was the king at his best in Hawaii in 1973.
@TCBfan62 Yeah - I liked how he was down-to-earth and could relax and be himself. He didn't act like he was above other people! Very powerful when he was on stage!
@BBQFanNo1 yeah a lot of his songs from 69 never made it after 1971. prior to 1971 he would sing lots of songs from his 69 memphis recording sessions like in the ghetto, dont cry daddy, kentucky rain, true love travels on a gravel road, any day now, this is the story, rubberneckin, and suspicious minds. only suspicious minds last longer than the rest. he last sang it completely in august 75. he sanga snippet of it in may 1977 but that was it
Can you refrain from comparing Jacko to Elvis. There is no comparison. Elvis had it all - looks, talent and charisma besides having a good heart and never hurt anyone.
talking shit ya'll what about the Lisa and Micheal syndrom? totally wrong.. mobsters ummmmmm maybe but jackson OMG.that was total disrespect totally... Enough said
Probably one of the greatest tracks ever recorded. When I hear this song, I always have an image in my mind of RFK campaining in l960-68. Out their in the snow or rain, searching for the next vote for his brother, the next girl or the next ride or hand to shake.
Aloha from Hawaii was the last time he really looked and sounded good. It was downhill fast from that point on. Makes you wish that his doc had been held accountable like Michael Jackson's don't it?!
Wrong. 1976-1977 was when he was at his vocally best. And he didn't look so bad without his bullet-proof vests and fat suits on.
It was all part of the plan. The mobs wouldn't believe he was really dead if he didn't have obvious ailments. And he did have threats of being shot, so he wore a bullet-proof vest under his jumpsuits.
Watch him trying to bend over in his last tour, to get things from the audience. He does it strangely, and on a few occassions, he can't squat.
@single4fun64 read carefully.... I said Elvis' DOCTORS, just like Jackson's DOCTORS! Don't even for one split second think that I'd EVER compare ANYONE with the King.
@single4fun64 I did not compare Elvis with Jackson.... I said their DOCTORS should have been held accountable for shoving unnecessary medications into them... Elvis was a walking pharmacy... meds to wake up, to sleep, to lose weight, etc, etc.... so don't even attempt to chastise me for comparing the two, since I did NOT... there is NO comparison between Elvis and Jackson. Elvis was and always will be the KING... Jackson was some twisted, demented FREAK.
@Caretaker24523 Hey Punk, do some goddamn research...that "freak" as you called him LOST more money than Presley made in his lifetime. Hence, Michael Jackson was more popular. Presley appeals more to crackers like myself and we make up a small percentage compared to Jackson who did things that Elvis never did. Example...tour WORLDWIDE. Elvis never left America (except for Hawaii). Parker was an idiot for not letting "his boy" tour all around the world where he could have made BILLIONS!!!

What a beautiful song and what a great performance by Elvis Presley. A real treat to watch this man doing what he did best. How many male performers look this good in bell bottoms?
oooooooh! That's so true! Thank you very much! That makes sense. Lol, my instinct was to worry if he was okay. . . then I remembered he died. *sigh* Anyway, thank you!
@gothjet He was imitating the old bearded fools that he showed the woman's picture to. Listen to the song again. He had an off the wall sense of humor.
Elvis: a poor, shy, humble country boy born in a dirt shack, and raised by good parents, who loved all kind of music. What a generous person he was, and his music will long live on. Thanks for all, Elvis A.

What a beautiful song and what a great performance by Elvis Presley. A real treat to watch this man doing what he did best. How many male performers look this good in bell bottoms?

In this appearence, Elvis was so tired and had difficulty breathing, listen to ask for a glass of water and logicaly that situation made him laugh.

Apparently he and JD Sumner were having some "fun" that the audience didn't see-very common-

@gothjet
As youu know, Elvis did so many concerts, night after night, that his amazing voice was obviously going to hurt a little bit.
It's natural for someone who sings as much as he did so often that his throat is going to tickle a little.

@canalesfrankie I don't like the laughing in this appearance. It's a serious song and he should've treated it as such. WAS HE REALLY A CARING PERSON?
THEMOJOMANsince1959 2 years ago
@canalesfrankie this song is steam roller, not suspicious minds come on people if your not familiar with Elvis don't comment PLEASE!!!!
