AL GORE had NOTHING to do with the INTERNET, it was first created by Tim Berners-Lee at CERN. It was originally called ENQUIRE (written in the PASCAL programming language) in the 80s and was only for government and scientists untill it went public in 1989. and the first web browser was titled worldwideweb but was later renamed NEXUS...in the days before APPLE and MICROSOFT....TAKE THAT AL GORE!!!!!!!!!!

The irony is that many of the guys who really DID invent the internet say that without Gore's activism it wouldn't have been fast-tracked the way it was. I really think he DID 'take the initiative in the creation of the internet'. That's a fair thing to say. He mandated that the US gov't go web-savvy in the early 1990s. Al Gore never did say he invented the interent... He said he took the initiative of creating the interent...(Legislativily). Invent and Create are 2 dif. things. He was the leading sponsor of the 1988 National High-Performance Computer Act as Senator and casted the tie breaking vote as VP to get the interent into public schools.
