Martin is entirely to focused on effort limiting production quantities and spreading exotic wood propaganda for the sole purpose of inflating market prices. It would seriously behoove Martin's historical legacy if they would pay more attention to the qualtiy of their instruments. There is nothing exotic or special about this guitar; it is seriously overpriced and JM should concentrate on his music rather than whore himself as a spokesperson for the Martin sales and marketing team.

Yes Martin is the best and yes they are expensive but, They make professional quality instruments and have you priced an American car lately. I can't afford one of them either but, I still favor them.
@bluegrassingingman A lot of people just can not afford a martin guitar an I agree with you they do blow away Taylors & Gibson guitars but the point that I am Making all the good guitar makers have gottin out of hand on the price I first bought my martin 28 I 1974 for $900.00 an a gibson ES-175D for $950.00 in 76 now a Martin 28 go's for over $2000.00 an A gibson 175 D Go's for over Three thousand
@Rockinj8 Prices have gotten out of hand? $900 in '74 would be equal to over $4,000 in today's market! Paying $2000 in 2012 is much more affordable than paying $900 in 1974.
Martins are the best guitars I have four of them myself But when I see John Mayer up there I have to think yep great commercial for martin guitar The guitar he is playing is one of martins top model guitars an unless you have a lot of money forget it un less you buy one of the martins that is made in mexico then the normal can afford a martin today

HD-16RA is around 2100. These Martin's blow away any Taylor and Gibson at a less price. Martin is less expensive then most major brands.
small acoustic guitars have unique sonorous sound qualities, that are good for some things but, then so do the jumbos and dreadnaughts for other purposes but, yes it's a nice guitar! Send me one, plz! ...in my dreams, to play. : )
