Good God, everybody is now in their 60s. It wouldn't be the same even if they did get back together. They are all seniors and can't rock like they used to. Unless they've kept up their vocal training, that's gone. Benny's right. Keep ABBA alive in your imaginations because they're not the young beautiful group they used to be. A reunion right now would bound to disappoint because there'd be someone saying, "Ah, they don't sound the same". Rediscover ABBA but move on, for everyone's sake!

That's Gorel Hanser, who is the group's manager. All the reunion rumour info is in the description, which got moved to underneath the video from being alongside it where it was easily readable after youtube made some stupid and unwanted changes to the video comments layout last month!

Thanks Carl - there's only one extra person and that's Gorel Hanser who is Abba's manager. She's their "Mama" who said "Its simply not true. There is no prospect of ABBA getting back together - its never going to happen" when Benny casually said "Yeah, why not?" to a re-union suggestion and caused the world to wake-up! Threre's 2 interviews in the description on the right about the re-union rumours. The older guy in the 4th picture is Benny as he appears today, with Gorel keeping an eye on him!

Hi Carl, that's because Gorel only became their manager in 1997 when former manager Stig Anderson died. Before that she was Vice-President of Stig's company Polar Music, who published Abba's records. Gorel is normally shy and avoids the spotlight, but Stig certainly wasn't and did a lot to get Abba started. There's a history of Stig in my recent video Tivedshambo. The first picture was taken at that performance, which is the only time that Abba did in fact re-unite 4 years after they retired!

Cheers Joseph - yes Gorel did use the word stern, so Benny will have to keep a low profile for a while! Just doing my job like those 2 interviewers with passing this news on for the fans - but you get great songs like this accompanying my news! It could be very expensive to see them re-unite for a concert as they've already turned down $1 billion, but a tv special should be much cheaper!

Cheers Shay yes the rumour looked like getting out of hand, so Mama Gorel quickly jumped in and said "Its simply not true" and told Benny off! But Benny did seem to go along with the suggestion, so of course it leaves the possibility lingering on ...! This is another of their super very under-rated early album tracks and I wouldn't mind being Fred!

@claxi13 Hi Claudio - yes I'd agree with that. They've already achieved enough and its good just to see them out and about getting deserved awards. Agnetha has made a new video for Abba World, which is a sort of outing! She says that she's proud of her years with Abba but is no longer involved in anything musical and is just happy spending time at home with her family!

@abbaregistro Thanks Gal - you don't get more up to date news that this which stops the reunion rumours as soon as they occur. Also its the perfect opportunity to debate anything about a possible reunion. This song fits the situation perfectly with their manager Gorel Hanser telling Benny off! We don't hear much about her invaluable help to the group over the years, so it was good to show some pictures of Gorel for a change!

@abbaroxette1 Hi Pepe Agnetha has always kept a dignified silence about reunion rumours - so you're probably right to go by her. In her Abba World video she says that she looks back on her time in the group with pride but has no intention of doing anything more in music as she enjoys spending time with her grandchildren now. I suppose that's another "My Mama Said" verdict to add to Gorel's - cheers from John!

@mariusd91 Hi Marius, its more that Benny was not being serious in that interview rather than a joke. Abba's manager Gorel Hanser has since come out and told Benny off and quashed the reunion rumour. You can read the details of Gorel's interview, which was later on the same day, in the description by clicking on "more info" in the top right of the screen beneath the date.

@roydoncrossing Cheers Bill - I could see there would be lots of queries from users on this subject, so decided to head it off in a single video to save us all repeating Gorel's response to everyone for some time to come! Have to agree with you that a live performance would not be desirable. It was hard enough for them to reproduce their multi-layered studio sound at their peak, and they performed to playback more often than not - which was ok as they had plenty of energy to dance around then!

@Fridissima Cheers Ivana - yes with Gorel telling Benny off, then she takes the title role in "My Mama Said" perfectly! She had to step in quickly before expectations got out of hand, which she has done with a clear statement on the same day. It was needed as the Fan Club has been deluged with requests for information! There's a video at Abba World showing a new interview with Agnetha in which she says that she's very proud of her time with Abba but has no intention of returning to recording!

It's no big deal to do a concert in Stockholm over 1 or 2 nights and make a DVD out of it and broadcast it too.

Benny appears on stage all the time. I seriously doubt that Frida would say no. She had an album recently and so did Agnetha.

I'm sure the girls still sound awesome together. And they can hire a great band to back them.

My guess is that Bjorn is the holdout. But no one expects them to look 25 on stage. It's celebrating the band, not reliving the past. Lame excuse guys!

You're probably right about Bjorn, he's made most of the no-reuniting statements and didn't backup Benny in the interview though it was a good jest with "The Way Old Folks Do!". Bjorn has also said "I think the group that never came back is something mystical and wonderful" - which is part of their appeal!

@MillionthUsername There's definitely a closed mind outlook about it Mike, and its quite likely they would be worried about critical press reviews. It appears they've said "there will be no reunion" so many times that they've backed themselves into a corner now and can't really go back on it without losing a lot of esteem! And I think Bjorn has not played any instrument or sung for many years, so he's going to be very wary of doing anything!

@MillionthUsername I am totally agree with you. It seems to be the way they look is really important for themselves, more than for the fans at least. I think they wouldn´t know how to react if they decide to reunite and get bad critics. Anyway never say never and maybe jokes can be a reality...you never know.

Yes we can always "Have A Dream" Jose! The extra blonde is Gorel Hanser, the person who told Benny off! She joined Polar Music in 1969 and became Stig's secretary. She then became Vice president of Polar Music as Stig believed in equal opportunities. She handled the contacts with record labels around the world in their heyday and became their personal manager and friend, dealing with press and accompanying them on tours and trips. You could probably call her "Abba's Mama" keeping order nowadays!
