    Man, Tony Monaco is awesome!!!

  • Tony very good, is beautiful plays i like sound Hammond,Bravo

  • This guy has some serious talent!

  • Not bad for a white boy! Far too many facial grimaces! McDuff didn't need the theatrics to sound "soulful!" Just play the bloody organ, dude!

  • /watch?v=60ut7yIuCEY&feature=related

  • great job as always tony!'

    Artis Brown organist gary'indiana

  • Hammond B3's with a Leslie are to organ what a Marshall and a Les Paul are to guitar. Not every organ song is written with a B3 in mind, and no two players will make their instruments and amp sound just alike. It is very easy to see why the B3 has become a mainstay of jazz organist, but there are other organs out there with plenty of clout. Heck, even that Lowrey Heritage DSO-1that has been set to the curb time and time again was a a favorite...check this out!

Alan Haven plays Hard Days Night

  • love the bass walking

  • You sicko. That's messed up...

  • The man is gifted by God.

  • O.o jesus christ...

  • I was wondering...how do you learn to play like that with your left hand?! Anybody got some good tips, advice?

  • Start of slow. In some cases your hands will be going totaly oposite directions. I can do it pretty well, but not as good as Tony or any of the others greas, like Joey D or JS. It really is fun when you have a breakthrough, then you keep working at it and more and more licks will come.

  • Thanks for the incouragement!!!

  • Freaking SICK. DAMN.

  • not bad for a 50 year old !

    HAPPY BDAY MY FRIEND!

  • I've never been so amazed in my life!

    FANTASTIC!!!

  • What key is that in!?

  • They key of Jazz baby... lol, IDK....

  • I'd say F - THE key for blues on the organ.

  • Amazing jazz and fun to see it. Thanks for the upload!

  • Tony, please slow it down for a second. I just want to count how many fingers you have on each hand. I'm assuming 8, maybe 9. This is some of the coolest jazz I've heard. Thank you for sharing it.

  • omg

  • He is making those keys sing. I like Jack Mcduff and Billy Holloman too!

  • wonderful

  • Oh Yeah He's smoking awesome!! I like his animation!!!

  • you comment without heart

  • No feeling ?

You really think you can do that without feeling ?

Monaco plays with his heart, it is written on his face each time he plays. A pleasure for the ears and for the eyes.

  • I'd kill to be able to do that.

  • hmmm he's killin' but i prefer larry young, don patterson, jack macduff, or bill heid....

  • there must be a god.

  • Amazing how little he uses the left thumb!

  • What In The World!?!?!?!?!

  • Had the pleasure of seeing Tony live several times. Never, NEVER lets the audience down. Great guy.

  • awesome man

  • I love the metric modulations at 1:03

  • There are no metric modulations. He is just playing crotchet triplets in his right hand but phrased in groups of two.

  • Wow. I didn't know music could have a sexual preference.

    Let's see you try it.

  • They don't call him Master Chops for nothing!!

  • Tony is just Fantastic!

    Regards from Hammond Sweden

  • Yeahhhh!!!!!! Excelent!

  • ain't nothin like them Hammonds and Leslie speakers!

  • My favorite instrument, and you make it talk!

  • Smoking !!!!!!

  • Grande Tony!!!!!!!

  • HOT

  • which hammonds this?

  • I'm the "Cheap suitcase Hammond guy" in the video-(and I'm not a sales guy-I'll forgive the insult) what I was worried about was the NAMM volume police coming to shut us down for being too loud and having too many people in the aisles-they were threatening to cut our power-and then there wouldn't be any more sublime moments like this

  • Ok, most have noticed the little finger...

If you pick up his 'Intimately Live at the 501' CD, READ the liner notes! In there you'll find a heart felt story of this great player and what he has been through!

Its enough to make you appreciate what you've got, and not be so critical.

Tony Monaco, a great Hammond artist, NOT afraid to pull out all 9 !!

  • loooooool his pinky finger!!! didn't notice it at first, i thought i was the only one with this kinda "tic" though not as pronounced. I feel strange no mo

  • What is the cheap suitcase Hammond sales guy,so damn worried about..............ok son, now move along?

  • WOW! That was incredible. I really wanna play like that!!

  • this shit is easy!!

  • WOAH.

  • He ain't uses is little finger

  • Awsome!

  • Awesome vid man!! Great player omg!! Just sick fast!!

  • This is great!! But what's the deal with his pinky finger? Did anybnody notice how his pinky just kind of sticks up like he's drinking tea or something? Maybe that's why he's so super fast.

  • He does use it. He uses it to play the chords. But on the fast scales he is not.

  • Can´t you play the bass with your feet? except of this everything is ok...

  • simply awesome!

  • Hey, is that Tony Soprano in the backround?

  • S M O K I N' ! ! !

What to say or add here that wasn't said already...

Tony brings back the days of the REAL HAMMOND players and

    the way they could swing.

    Tony Monaco is S U P E R F A N T A S T I C ! !

    That is all,

    RT

  • That is just unbelievable. Wow ! what a player !.

  • I've never seen someone rip like that on an organ (besides Ray Manzerak). This very has nothing wrong with it except: What's up with that weird suit walking around the whole time? Not to mention those guys that sound like porn directors.

    Great video, great technique!

  • LOLz!! good observated ;)) "Yeah, Baby!!!"

  • Tony the great.

  • AMAZING, that's what a solo should be . . . short and sweet!

  • YOu are slam-dunk off-the-charts great!!!!

  • That was phat to deaf. Hes got some chops no doubt.

  • That fuckin rocked

  • Very nice !

  • Fantastic!

  • Man all-mighty!! But I do have to ask, why aint there be no richard Groove Holmes in dis place?

  • Awesome Hammond chops! I have nothing bad to say about a man that can play like that, much love Tony!

  • ooooww!! superb!! YO brother!... erm - indeed, exciting play. Really good to see.

  • Incredible. Good inspiration right there.

  • Hey, take it easy...he's at another tired a** tradeshow. I agree he's reiterating Jimmy (a la "The Champ") and tyrin' to sell that new b3 contraption of solid state... but the man is good. To really see any good organist is to see them live on a show (not a tradeshow). Corporate and music = no good.

Agreed though, Jimmy/Mcduff/Groove Holmes will always be the gods.

  • this is a great vid but I agree with Justin and mandible, Tony is incredible but hes playing what JOS would have played. He's playing variations of JOS' '56 and mid 60's takes on "The Champ"

  • Nice, but not, at all, "genius." Sounds like another Jimmy Smith clone to me. I know of 14yo kids (in church) who can play that bass line on their foot while comping and soloing. He's good, but again, Jimmy was the genius.

  • I agree. How bout the bass line with the foot. Try Dennerlein on for size. Not saying Tony can't play, but genius?

  • Jus' this man is awesome! yes there are kids out there that are bad in a few things but the total organ-I don't know. I know a guy name Craig Tyson that can run his foot bass heal & toe in the key of C fast and smooth!

  • Tony will be playing in Edinburgh, Scotland next weekend 24 & 25 September 06' at the Jazz Bar Chambers Street. Can't wait!...he is going to teach my B3 how to be a B3!!!!

  • Get it Tony!

  • Exciting to watch and listen too

  • Sick! :) Tony forever!

  • Hi Tony!! Thanks for the good music!!
