ball of confusion by the temptations is 20-25 years older than this one. the more things change, the more they stay the same.
as far as beatles sound...try the knickerbockers "lies" for early beatles. utopia did ok with album "deface the music" and the ruttles with parody "all you need is cash"
I've always had a soft spot in my heart for this tune ever since I first heard it as a kid back in 1989. Wow! Talk about prophetic and ahead of their time, how profound and relevant is this song today in our current global situation? Not only that, but the music is absolutely heavenly and uplifting. TFF are living legends in my book. It's truly sad and rather depressing that the satanic music industry won't even consider promoting real music with a message like this anymore. Long live TFF!!
I have to say this: Their only good year in The USA was 1985. Don't get me wrong, this tune from 1989 was a decent tune. That stated, Tears for fears should've played Live-Aid without bitching at Geldof. They'd still be around today.
@luilainez That's not an accident. This was a tribute of sorts to the Beatles in the way they composed the song. Can't remember at the moment where I read that.
@geoffswoman And ... a very, very excellent song which I hadn't heard in almost 20 (fuck me) years until Sunday and the MMM rock in stereo Valentine's Day tribute to 100 songs with love in the title. tl:dr? Doesn't matter. Roland's hair looks really good in this clip - he's showing attitude he didn't show in their earlier clips and I remember I liked it as a teenage girl. Still do, just quietly.
@geoffswoman And he's British! So much for that stereotype. And in some shots in their videos, the sun shines through and they're translucent, therefore not crowns, they're real.
I was a teenager in the 1980s; I'm 44 now. I hated a lot of the music back then. Tears For Fears seemed to be in a class of their own. I remember when 'Sowing the Seeds of Love' first came out in '89 and I didn't like it; it was so different from their previous work. Now I love it! It may be nostalgia, but I look on '80s music anew, and with a great deal of affection. Today's music has got nothing to offer and nothing to say. But, alas, I remember saying exactly the same thing as a teenager!!!
As someone who grew up with the Doors and Zeppelin ECT... The 70's and 80's were my era of growing up and I AM SO FUCKING GREATFUL because I had the pleasure of listening to MUSIC MASTERS LIKE THESE CATS. It just makes you feel like jetting back in time and being with all the people that were in your life to share the memories these tunes gave us
@aeronuk1 I noticed that too. The guy responsible for making the video was Jim Blashfield (several grammys and MTV awards) so I think he's the 'bad guy' here & the "Tears for Fears" boys are innocent :)
@PhotoshopFunStudio I wasn't suggesting that the "Tears for Fears" boys are illuminati members, and I do realise that it's a protest song against the global elite (The Illuminati). But the video director Jim Blashfield is allegedly an illluminati agent and I thought maybe he was sending a subtle message to his fellow illuminists that they have things under control. The illuminati will always give people the opportunity to complain (nothing more) because it gives the illusion of freedom.
wow!! thanks for putting it up, i just hit replay over and over and over......my husband has his earplugs in..lol.....good song, this song should actually be THE theme song of the OCCUPY Movement, and the protesters should play it real loud in front of all our dumb banks!!

@zeta1ret The lyrics to this song are amazing! I loved this song back in the 80's but never really knew the words. This song WAS relevant back then and much, much more so now in these times. It's very sad their label has shunned them, I would love to see them make a comeback!
Escuchando a TFF mientras manejas( conduces) tu automóvil, por cualquier ruta( carretera) de cualquier país, entre valles, montañas, rios, arroyos, o playa...o lo que prefieras...que buena sensación!
@CelesteK Hmm, I thought it might be a typo, or a reference to something obscure. But nothing shows up in an online search for "daliy" other than typos on other forums/websites. Or it could be an inside joke, kind of like using "teh" for "the" intentionally.
Look, the simple truth is music today is based more in image, or style of cloth than substance of music talent and the lyrical message to the mass. End Of! Take the xfactor and crap like that! You will see what I mean!
It's amazing: we live in a time when we can listen to virtually any music, at any time, for free, and people still weep for a time when MTV ruled music, MP3 wasn't even dreamt of, independent artists had to spill blood to publish their work, and "home taping is killing music". When the heck, people? Music has never so cheap and accessible as today. Enjoy it while it lasts! If you keep weeping, the Internet may be censored behind your backs, and THEN you will weep.

i feel extremely lucky to be old enough to remember seeing these guys on MTV and having their cassette and the whole 80's thing. It really was a blast..damn. i miss it everyday
posso naum kurtir mto os anos 80 prefiro os anos 60 apesar de eu ser de 97 ksksksk mais essa musica teve muito siguinhifikado na minha vida bons tempos minha infancia ksksksksk
@FernieCanto Yes pretty much. The instant that these Yuppies discovered that anybody under the age of 18 could be bought and sold is when music died. In all honesty I'd rather listen to music like this that has substance to it and swagger. SOL was really the best album that Tears ever did. The record labels aren't supporting music like this because the guys in the band can't be bought or sold.
@SpiritMolecule1 I have little to no hope that music will go beyond Lady GaGa and Katy Perry and whatever other shit kids are listenening to these days. The only person that I've listened to that's any good is Kimber.
@TommyVercetti214 Music died in the 2000's... and in the 90's, and in the 80's, the 70's, 60's and so on and on. Yet it insists in coming back from the dead to bug us a little more. Be careful: Radiohead might pull your leg while you're sleeping one of these days.
Incredible song - great lyrics - timeless.

Music died in the 2000's

@TommyVercetti214 Music died when the suits took over and decided to tell us what we should and shouldn't be listening to.

@CelesteK So you're saying that music died the instant that they discovered music could be recorded on a cylinder of wax.

@CelesteK there is still hope for real music... Tranqvillia

@SpiritMolecule1 I have little to no hope that music will go beyond Lady GaGa and Katy Perry and whatever other shit kids are listenening to these days. The only person that I've listened to that's any good is Kimber.

@CelesteK you should definitely check out tranqvillia then, very Queen inspired new band.

@TommyVercetti214 Music died in the 2000's... and in the 90's, and in the 80's, the 70's, 60's and so on and on. Yet it insists in coming back from the dead to bug us a little more. Be careful: Radiohead might pull your leg while you're sleeping one of these days.
