  • Its nice there... asewome ride!

  • this is pretty dangerous the FAA or which ever regulatory authority is present must close down such runways, safety comes first

  • this is jurassic park.

  • Complete takeoff instructions:

    1. Flaps to 45°

    2. Full Throttle (Hold Brakes)

    3. Hear when the engine are very loud

    4. Release the brake

    5. Pull up gently when you are driving by the terminal

    6. Wait until it takeoffs.

    7. Set flaps to zero

    NOT SOOO HARD

I'm a pilot ad there's one veery short runway in iceland this is what we do!

  • @Boeing747type8 and when you get an engine failure before v1, there in iceland you have terrain to overrun the runway. there in saba you have a soft cliff to fall off !

  • @haitiano1982 and why the hell are you mixing failure into the comment i am talking about takeoff not failures and i never said that the short airport in Iceland was dangerous as this one.

  • @Boeing747type8 well in that case, you first comment is also wrong. by the way, pilots like you kill people.

  • @haitiano1982 Am i going to tell the hundreds of the small ops when you take off in 1,100 ft?

  • @Boeing747type8 still wont make ur 1st comment good

  • @haitiano1982 fuck off, you don't talk to pilots like they are idiots! It took me many years to finish the pilot and you talk to me like i am some idiot but stupid asses like you won't even be able to finish the pilot test so just shut up and replay that video whenever you want.

  • @Boeing747type8 haha but you're an idiot pilot, it doesnt matter if you're a pilot or not, pilots like you get poeple killed, you suck at what you do. and by the way im a much better pilot then you are, can't handle the insult. haha

  • @haitiano1982 HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA very funny the icelandic pilots are the most trained pilots in the world and the airliner i warok for is in the 2nd place in the europe, I would like more "HAHA" but it won't interfere me when you say you're a better pilot go crash your ATL-90 Accountant and die, nobody would care because you talk horribly to other people you are very unpolite even to your wife but you should stop interrupting my life by those ugly words so here i say i t as an pilot: GFYS.

  • @Boeing747type8 poor thing, i feel for you. you're so afraid now.. ahhww, u need to curse ??? i havent even cursed once in our conversations, as you can see, so go ahead with your 2nd best european airline which doesnt exist hahahahahahahhaha, and ill crash and die anyday, but not because you said so. LOOOOOOSERRRR wanna be 747-800 pilot !! lol

  • @haitiano1982 It's Icelandair, never cursed, you crash, not loser, good luck to learn the 747-8 i'm not trying to scare you or being angry. Just want you to stop commenting. I don't hate you. Just trying to be honest with other pilots but you were never honest.

  • @Boeing747type8 jezus, you little faggot, go fly your stupid icelandair,... and im not scared. if you didnt realise it yet, i dont believe you're a pilot../ i actually believe you're a 13year old icelanding little faggot that plays too much flight simulator, and you just caught wanting to be a pilot, BY A REAL PILOT ahhahahahahahahahahhahaa, go buy a new joystick for your flight simulator

  • @haitiano1982 you're right but i am a real pilot i am actually 19 years old with the cessna 172 license and you are some too much respected pilot, you are rich i "got some money" (not rich) and i lied all this time and i don't regret it, just because i am a 19 years old and i can't fly these motherfucking boeing jets and airbus IM A FUCKING LOSER you are the loser think about the other people, don't just think about YOU the RICH COMMERCIAL PILOT. Think about other people they are not losers.

  • @Boeing747type8 you're not 19, and you don't have a cessna 172 license

  • @haitiano1982 prove it.

  • @Boeing747type8 you already did !

  • @haitiano1982 How did i i don't know what you are fucking talking about.

  • like it or not the runway ends!!!

  • Piece of cake !

  • That island seems so small, I'm guessing the emergency vehicle at the terminal is only for the airport.

  • An A.D.Z. take off...Adult Diaper Zone...

  • let's hope you would never have to abort...you would be going in the drink.

  • Exactly why the twotter, is necessary.

  • Pampers ON!

  • thats a legitimate short field take-off. awesome.

  • How many places have gone over the edge here?

  • @zenmachinefilms by places I think you mean planes. In which case, all of them.

  • Are you sure nobody was outside pushing?

  • Are you the only one that uses the airport???

  • yeah it literally is Jurassic park...Wht can u expect from a piece of land whose population is 1500 people !

  • its like taking off an aircraft carrier

  • aka No Fuck-up Zone.

  • one mistake, an everyone is invited to the pool party.

  • haha it looks like jurrasic park lol

  • Ouch, That would hurt if you had an engine failure after takeoff :/

  • Take off from Saba is less problematic than landing, as long as you are not overloaded, because, there is no that f.... roll vortex on short final taking you down your path. In french , we call them "degueulante" (pukers)

  • What speed/throttle% and flap settings are needed to take off from here?

  • @TheA340guy Probably max throt and max flaps :D

  • I guess it´s south east of Saint Marteen, in caribean. no more than 25 miles.

  • V1 would be like 40kts!

  • Having an engine out at V1 probably wouldnt be good ^_^

  • feels like the doolittle raid

  • Where the hell is this?

    Jurassic Park

  • @monkeynuts76 Actually, some people told me the opening from JP was taped here, I checked it out and it turned out not to be true but it was very plausible, it really looked like the place! :-)

  • @rutgergeerling ...I believe Jurassic Park scenes were taken in Hawaii.

  • @monkeynuts76 this is near hawaii i think

  • @glazuna Its not near Hawaii, Its southeast of Cuba

  • Comment removed

  • @monkeynuts76 This is Saba island which is about 30 miles off the coast of St. Maarten an island in the Netherland Antilles east of Puerto Rico. I visit there quite often. Truly paradise IMO.

  • @monkeynuts76 Saba Island is about 30 miles off the coast of St. Maarten (which is about 200 miles east of Puerto Rico). I spend the summers in St. Maarten where I have family and we go to Saba for weekend excursions.

  • @6580006247 can i tell you a joke?

  • now that's a catapult take- off... =)

  • Runway....runway.....runwaaaaaay....*air* O.o I tried landing a F-18 on this runway in FSX lol

  • @iscay666

I tried taking off in an F-16 on google earth. Soo close...

  • @CubesForAKid Google earth has a flight sim now? lol

  • @iscay666

Can't tell if that's sarcastic ot not. Forgive me.

Go to tools on the top, enter flight simulator.

With full flaps I can allllmost get it.

  • @CubesForAKid You said you tried taking off in an F-16 on google earth. Good earth is a satalite imaging program. Where is the F-16 exactly?

  • @iscay666 K, this might be a while...

Move the camera to a reasonavble place to start (if you are too close to the ground, you will start on the ground.

    Hit ctrl + alt + A

    Fly.

  • boy not a good place to have one engine quit by the end of the runway or just after leaving the runway

  • Manobra arriscada, Brazil Arno

  • so actually it´s not that safe to take off here

  • Only an Otter can manage this!!!

  • yikes

  • LMMFAO......@0:33...the nose gets bout halfway up but not all the way .........as.the plane jumps of the runway and cliff. LOL.....listen at the sound of the engine "Jult" as the plane hits the open air. sounded like somebody stuck their finger in a fan. ...............Awesome Piolit !!!

  • What about v1 and the accelerate/stop distance?

  • @112Simoni i don't think you will have the time in here to do V1 VR or V2. and neither the time to do an RTO in emergencies.

  • @harold562 good thing there is a cliff.. might have just enough to get the nose down and get a flare out of it b4 impact with water

  • lololz i just hope there are no birds near that airport, a bird strike with that runway's length would be extremely scary

  • @harold562 yea u would be toasted probably

  • I couldn't imagine it if it should be a rejected take-off just on the edge of the runway... LOL

  • @ericnelson91 O.O that would be a forced take off and a go around hoping everything works out. XD *hears tires whinning on runway then plane goes off the runway and big badda boom*

  • I'd be a little nervous with that propeller that close to my head. lol

  • haha

  • I agree...

  • TwOtterCopter!;-)

  • lol AT THE LOOKS AT IT HE DID LIFT OFF,, HE JUST DROVE OFF THE RUNWAY WOW WOW

  • What type of Aircraft were you in? I would think that'd be a little short for a prop...

  • twin otter

  • Comment removed

  • This is a commercial flight. The landing is even more intense.

  • They do a slingshot takeoff here. This is when the pilot puts the parking brake on at the beginning of the takeoff, increases the throttle to full, then releases the parking brake. The plane gets going faster.

  • @Airbus294 hahahahahahahahahahaahhahah... slingshot takeoff? gotta quit the flight sim man get some lessons... short field takeoff technique

  • I agree.

  • thats got for fs but not for real life lol :D

  • Hence, the acceleration is much faster to achieve MTOW compared on normal. correct me if i'm wrong. thank you

  • @brent07 you have just sed to reach maximum take off weight

  • IF this kind of plane, how many altitude will they cruise at?

  • 17 seconds!

  • this is nothing compared to the Lukla Airport in Nepal!

351 mtr runway with a 12 deg slope leading to a 700m drop at that end and a 2000m sheer rock face at the other!

ZERO room for error - you cant abort - either the landing or take off - AT ALL!

There are enough videos on You Tube - have a look and be amazed!

  • @kb100album the approach at tegucigulpa honduras is way more dangerous because commercial airlines ACTUALLY land there. watch an approach there once. the biggest commercial jet that lands there is the 57 and its hairy.

  • so tocontin airport yeah a aa 757 landed there and a taca a320 crashed there too

  • Comment removed

  • You can see the aircraft getting more altitude with the wind coming from below when it cross the cliff. AWESOME airport. Just wonder, the number of fatalities on aborted takeoffs on this runway. O.o

  • @Addicted4Flying

According to WikiPedia, that number would be 0

  • @AllenRockwell yeah, just wondering tho.

  • Better hope there is never an engine failure or that's all she wrote. Must be fun figuring the ASD for this airport...

  • Notice how the pilot runs up the engines before releasing the brakes? Anyone know where I could perhaps get the specifications of how much thrust those breaks could hold? Does anyone perhaps know what Aircraft this is?

  • @BayHike the aircraft is the twin otter

  • Clean shorts are under the seat.

  • I think the San Blas Island strip (panama) is only 350metres Twin otters only make about half of their landing attempts ,the others result in go arounds In its favour there is always a 25+knt trade wind blowing down the line which must help a good deal (we spent a week or so anchored off the windward end of the runway in our yacht)

  • hold those brakes, apply and confirm full power and off you go

  • that guy holding the camera can run pretty fast

  • and he can fly

  • @ramitupursnout he can fly pretty fast too.

  • 12 seconds

  • Do you reckon they know they lost half their runway into the sea?

  • Could a DC-3 use that strip with a useful load? I've seen DC-3's take off in 500 feet with a small load and a stiff headwind, but with no headwind and 5,000 pounds?

  • well however you want to think of it :P

  • Who stole the rest of the runway ?

  • It's safer than landing

  • Slingshot takeoff... nice

  • Mental taKE OFF!!

  • Looks like it is possible to drop a bit off the edge in an emergency. Not that operating there at any time ISN'T an emergency, ha.

  • takes off just like a WW2 med bomber.

  • sounds like a Dehaviland twin otter.

    incredibly short take off capability

  • The airport code is TNCS

  • thanks

  • what is that airport code? someone please reply

  • SABA

  • Saba it says in the name

  • there is a airport that is a crater

  • Can I ask for the ICAO airport code?

  • TNCS

  • SABA

  • Any perspective? How about the length of time it takes to take off, or do you just not understand anything about flying? Keep stupid comments to yourself.

  • Ok so how can you say i know nothing about flying when you don't even know me thats a stupid comment.

  • your really smart just watch and you can tell how short it is

  • forgive me for my ignorance but where is Saba situated??

  • Saba is located southeast of the Virgin Islands.

  • Do you want to see a short commercial airstrip?, take a look at Contadora Island in Panamá, two airlines get there (Air Panama and AeroPerlas), where you literaly land almost at the beach and take off almost at the rocks...

  • the YMC-130H can take off shorter i think its a C-130 varient.

  • If you get the FlyTampa-Maarten Scenery (FSX/FS9) addon and fly the DHC6 Twin Otter in and out, it's very realistic!

  • Wow. FSX puts in comletely out of scale. It's far bigger here than in the simulators.

  • I tried it in FS2004 cant land anything larger than the king air

  • i tryed to land an A380 there. failed. :(

  • ha ha i fought so

  • well did you get close.................

  • lets suppose you manage to land it.how will you take off?!?!?!?!?!

  • he's taking off in the video you moron

  • my comment was for "boobyboob69" and "whosFEJEE" talking about landing big aircrafts in FS9..bitch

  • with the fishies! :D

  • isnt the a380 only 5 times shorter than the runway its self?

  • what do you want to say ?

  • wow, just wow:)

  • u could prob get a Dash-7 in an out of there EMPTY though.. its like the DHC-6, its has an amazing STOL rate an can slow right down to 70 knots on landing with full flap

  • looks a little bit like a carrier takeoff ;-)

I often fly in my FS9 near this airport, difficult landing on it!

  • this is nothing !!!

    go to LUKLA in Nepal

after the runway you have a 1 km. drop

(at the end of the runway..... there is No runway!!)

    Landing is an other story;

(at the end of the runway..... there is No runway!! ONLY rock!!!)

  • Lukla is dangerous too... but LET 410 can land there smoothly

  • thats why i have a boat.fuck flying

  • hahahahahahaha. I dont know how to translate it in english but its goes sth like this:

    The coward's mother never cried^^

  • I bet the pilots apply to fly in and out of here just for the experience. My dad knows someone who used to fly for WinAir (even though we've never really heard or cared about these islands), and apparently he did it for experience and not money.

  • This appears to be a DHC-6 Twin Otter. The DHC-6 has amazing STOL performance. At full weight and sea level it needs 700 ft (213 m) to take off, at a speed of about 65 knots (118 km/hr). Saba's runway is 400 meters (1300 feet) long.

  • hate to be in tht airplane

  • where is SABA?

    is it an island?

  • Yep.. It is in The Netherlands Antilles

  • thanks...

  • it´s the island in «lost»

  • fuck that was close

  • At what speed does this particular plane rotate? Looks to be around 80 knots? Would like to know thanks

  • Why dont they put a ramp on each end that they can put up or down, then they could proberly have bigger planes

  • No (picard)

  • Camera illusion, in conjunction with the props fast rotation.

  • funny thing is, that they probably tell the pilots at that airport to fly no heavier then a light amount. or they wouldn't make the take off

  • yea lol its only approved for tree type of aircraft
