  • muito bom vei

  • This song always makes me emotional thinking, would I have the balls to ride Sleipnir to Nifelheim and ask Hel to bring my brother back to life if he died?

  • 3:26 until 4:16 = best part of any Amon Amarth song ever.

  • helsa, brother

  • Hemoroids Ride to Hel?

  • @matthes28469 But if you believe in Odin and the gods you well go to vallhalla not just warriors but if your a cowred you go to hel but hel is not really a bad Place and if you wonder why I know this I have eight years of learning norse mythology

  • there is not a vol high enough for this song

  • @wrylie188 I bet you cant name all the stages of rangnorok

  • @alexbird25101 Is that what they called the impending death of the lizard voiced by Johnny Depp? As for Ragnarok...

  • @ECHOMCWAFFLES Balder didn't die he is tarpped in hel

  • @alexbird25101 every dead man is either trapped in hel or in valhall.

  • @matthes28469 Only half go to Valhalla, the rest go to Fólkvangr

  • jeje

  • @ECHOMCWAFFLES

Töck's Taunt (Loke's treachery part II) from the Surtur Rising album is about Loki not weeping ;).

  • muito daora um salve pros BRs ai

  • Awwww(L)

  • remember when amon amarth sucked?

    yeah me either.

  • @XxXxlambofgodx neither*

  • I like the 'dundundundun' after the 'nyeewnyenyenyenyeeewnyeew'

  • @myvidutube LOL

  • @myvidutube Seems that you're ready for a Van Canto-type cover of this song ;)

  • Yep, I'm a wanna be lol! Sounds like you have a fist full of sand in your twat. Dont be mad bro. It was just a comment.

  • How could anyone dislike this song?? Must be Christians with sand in their vaginas.

  • @IrishJake714 And what are you, some wanna be pagan poser?

  • @IrishJake714 another ignorant person. what a shame.

  • @strahinje

He doesn't look like an ignorant person to me.

    Just expressively showing his opinion.

    He has every right.(:

  • what song is the intro from? or what does it sound similar to?

  • @SettPrime LoL!

  • I just learned about this in mythology class this week, and I have to say actually knowing about the topics Amon Amarth writes about makes the music even greater. Great song.

  • I dont know why there are so many people here explaining expressions from Asatru... each AA fan should know a lot about norse mythology so its like seting out fire in Muspel :).

Hail to the real gods and enjouy the music.

  • @tarkurius As a matter of fact, I have no idea, all I know is Odin, Thor, Ymer, Ginnungagap and runes.

  • Sleipner was Odin's horse with eight legs !

  • I'm finally going to see them tomorrow night, Aug. 29th!!!!

  • @warbike :D

  • where they good???

  • which spelling is the rigth one

Valhalla or Asgaard wich is right

  • @MyAnimelover96 both is

  • @MyAnimelover96

Those are two different words, Valhalla is located in Asgaard

  • @MyAnimelover96 Asgaard is a world, the home of the gods. Vallhalla is a hall within Asgaard (Literally, the "Hall of the Slain") Which is where the bravest warriors go to feast and practice their fighting skills until Ragnorok, the apocalyptic battle at the end of the universe.

  • <3

  • I HAVE COME TO BRING HIM BACK WITH MEEEEEEEE !

  • Dont worship then as gods, they were men once. Men that once did great things...

  • this is the 70th time iv listned to this today

  • Awesome song and lyrics :)

  • if u guys keep saying odin has a boner on the picture i will rip out ur fucking guts if i find u!

  • @Sabatonfan95 but there's a good chance it is. it was commonplace back then to depict the male gods with hard-ons to show off their virility. even as late as the renaissance a lot of statues and portraits were depicted the same way, until one of the popes had a majority of them desecrated and/or covered up.

  • @cheddarcheesy its his sword:O

  • @Sabatonfan95 What has been seen... cant be unseen... :O

  • AH GOOD OL VIKINGS!!!!!!

  • Seven people are devoid of feeling.

  • I plan to get a valknut (the interwoven triangles in the background, also known as borromean rings) tattoo on my chest over my heart so Odin can grant me Battle Madness!!

  • I rarely replay songs on YT due to the fact I don't want to get bored of it, but y'know what...*replay*

  • best AA album! ever!

  • @MParseface38 all of their albums are awesome

  • @TheChangenick

oh indeed they are, but this one is my favourite.

  • A video illustrating the lyrics of this song would be epic.

  • @XxMadMax593

hel is the underworld in Norse mythology

I think the rest you can imagine it? = D

  • I like the part from 0:00 to 4:41.

  • @MajorIron That's not a part dumbass, get your thumb ups somewhere else.

  • For Balder!

  • what is this song about?

  • @XxMadMax593 Hermod's ride to Hel to bring Baldr back form the dead, Hel (the chick who runs the place with the same name) tells hermod that if all things, dead and alive, wept for Baldr she would release him. Hermod went back to Asgard with Hel's demands, so Frigga(Baldr's mother) went out to get everything in all worlds to cry for her son. Every being but one cried for Baldr, an old woman named Thokk that turns out to be Loki in disguise. Baldr was forced to stay in Helheim for eternity.

  • @Beta4Life

yepp, an on the new album, there'll be the 2nd part of this song, called " töck's taunt", cant fucking wait to devour the booklet of the new album

  • cant wait for part 2

  • so is there a part 2 yet? been waiting what feels like forever for it

  • thor will smash the people who dislike Amon Amarth with mjölnir! \m/

  • The chorus of this song reverberates in the hearts and minds of those of us who are familiar with the Lore.

  • If Vikings were still around they would listen to this song right before raping and pillaging a village

  • @killTHEliers75 I bet u any of the dudes in this band would bitch slap you back to africa

    its their coulture fucker

    get some

  • @killTHEliers75

Its weird, that even if you think its gay, you still watches this vid...

    and its music...

  • 5 people have hemoroids

  • 5 people missed the dislike button!! xD

  • Part 2 is on the upcoming album Surtur Rising. It's called "Töck's Taunt - Lokes Treachery Part II"

  • @sawwan Thank fucking Odin! I've waited four years to hear part two, and I know it's going to be sick.

  • @sawwan Wait wait wait.....what? Amon Amarth are coming out with a NEW album? When?!

  • @mcrsoulja march

  • @mcrsoulja Yepp, March 29th US

  • @mcrsoulja 25 march 2011

  • All it takes is reading some Norse mythology, people, and this song not only makes total sense, but is also 100 times better than it already is!

  • Amon Amarth's technicality with their instruments never ceases to amaze and twist me;the melodies within their songs are just so purely fluid and well packed up

  • WOOOOO they r coming out with a new album in mext couple of months :))))

  • The idea is that if you're a christian, you'll go to heaven right after you die. People who didn't become christian go to purgatory (in dutch Vagevuur), which means cleansing fire. When you've done a lot of bad things you'll go deeper into the purgatory, a longer cleansing fire. After purgatory you're clean and you can go in to heaven if you want.

So all people can go to heaven, only for some people it will take longer.

    Epic tragic song, love it.

  • @LagavulinLagavulin I should say hell comes from a proto-germanic word.

  • In the bible "Hell" isn't mentioned, it is called Gehenna.

I think priests liked the idea of Hel, like Hel where Hermod is going to. A world where you can't get out, where you go to if you didn't die in the battle (then you'll go to Valhalla).

The church has done/said a lot of not-christian things I guess.

  • @LagavulinLagavulin Hell is a proto-Germanic word. It has been used in various forms in a lot of Germanic Languages to refer to punishment or other world of the dead and so on. So basically the English term Hell came from old English helle which is not the same Hel as in Norse Mythology. Plus in Spanish Infierno is the Christian hell and other languages have their own words. If the Church took the term Hell from Hel, then Hell or at least forms of it would have become the common term for all

  • That makes sense. Considering Holland was originally named Helland. If you take the Hol in German language it actually stands for hole or dwelling and well hell is suppose to be underground I think. In Norway Hol stands for Hill so im thinking it has something to do with cave dwellings.

  • @hulkitsmashit23 o.O...You know a lot about this stuff lol.

  • @hulkitsmashit23 Holland is called in normal Dutch Nederland, which means lowland, where the ground is for a big part beneath sea level.

  • @LagavulinLagavulin jij kent je land wel hehe

  • @DMU555 Yeah, organized christian religion used and abused more old European stuff.

    Like Midwinter/Yule-Christmas.

  • @LagavulinLagavulin My point was that hell was just the English word for punishment in the afterlife so when the English became Christian, they made that word the Christian hell.

  • Has anyone noticed that, on the picture, Oden has a massive boner?

  • @VikingHunter101 obvious sword is obvious.

  • @VikingHunter101 i believe thats the hilt of a sword dude

  • @VikingHunter101 lmao I never noticed... but I'm 99.9% sure that's a sword hilt

  • @EraOfBloodtv Sorry mate. Google "hällristningar penis" and you'll see alot of runic warriors with massive boners haha ;)

  • @UlfLundell Yeah I'm pretty sure its phallic imagery. For an old dude Odin is such a player, hehe. ;-)

  • @VikingHunter101 *sigh* That's a sword hilt. :-P

  • @ciphernemo *sigh* it is a joke.

  • @VikingHunter101

Pshh. Jokes. His sword of course.

    Be polite.

  • Comment removed

  • @VikingHunter101 All vikings had boners before they went into battle.

  • @mustdieproductions Nothing scarier than having a man try to kill you while experiencing a rage boner.

  • @mustdieproductions they were also circumsized, apparently

  • @moonwatcher211

    LMAO

  • Comment removed

  • @mustdieproductions What the fuck is this shit???? Sorry to lazy to look for the comment you are commenting on. xD

  • @hunyutheowner

I think it's referring to the image in the video. Did you notice the guy on the horse looks like he has a raging hard-on?

OK, it's supposed to be just his sword, but it's just... the way it's positioned. Ew.

  • @VikingHunter101 It's his sword lol ;)

  • @VikingHunter101 i think thats a sword hilt.

  • @VikingHunter101 now that was mean dont u think lol

  • @VikingHunter101 as if you know what turns a god on?

  • @VikingHunter101 that is fuckin hilarious

  • @VikingHunter101 that would be a hilt of a sword i do believe.

  • @Laurannah101 HAHA i sent him a message saying the same thing. :)

  • @VikingHunter101 it's far from massive for a GOD

  • @VikingHunter101 HAHAHA!!! fuck...you just made my day! haha

  • @VikingHunter101 That's the hilt of his sword.

  • @VikingHunter101 That's his sword I think

  • @VikingHunter101 funny, this isnt the only album cover of theirs that appears to have someone with a massive boner. if you squint y our eyes and look at the dude on vs. the world, he looks like he's got a big ol' strap on

  • @VikingHunter101 This is sword

  • Your god got nailed to a cross. My God wields a mighty hammer. Do the math.

  • in the title, they didn't mean 'hell', did they?

Obviously not, but where's Hel according to northern mythology?

One more thing, does anyone know a book about Nordic mythology you would recommend?

  • @burt2800

hel, is hell. ive read the mythology online.

  • @kalebder Really? I thought there was no 'hell' in nordic mythology. Well, thanks!

  • @burt2800 actually its called Helheim which means house of Hel. Hel is the daughter of Loki and goddess of the underworld

  • @tikibob033 Wow, thanks. So the christian word for hell comes from nordic mythology? Thanks, I didn't know that.

  • @burt2800 the english word comes from nordic myths though the concept as awhole is pretty general amog most religions

  • @tikibob033

Mate, not only the english word xD also the dutch, swedish and nordic word for what we call hell comes from the name Helheim and the norse goddes Hel.

    In Swedish its Helvete =P

  • @tikibob033 it means home of hell, heim means home

  • hemmroids

  • fucking loki :(

  • AMON AMARTH, has one of the best drummer, guitarists and not forget the death metal vocalist with a black metal history ;), their one of the best melodic death metal bands with a norse thouch

    HAIL AA \M/

  • For some reason, the opening to this song always reminds me of Dark Tranquillity's masterpiece "Lethe" (from The Gallery). The melody is uncannily similar.

  • Damn it Loke stop disliking the song.

  • @Sangheilitat117 I'd tell you he's bound up, but this is only part one, and that hasn't happened yet. Hopefully we can get a Loke's Treachery Part 2 on Surtur Rising.

  • @bushinarin A new album coming out >:DDDD

  • @Sangheilitat117 Yeah its called Sutr rising!

  • I know this tale very well, it is one of my favorites in norse mythology, its so epic

  • @NiflheimxMusic Ah, a fellow Asatruar?

It is an excellent piece of the lore.

  • bad quality :( how could u do this?

  • this song gives me eargasm =)

  • the 2 dislikes surely came from loki xD

  • @mrsubscriber666 Poor Loki

  • when the fuck is part 2 of this song coming out?

  • the beggining to 1:19, i could honestly listen to over and over again,

  • At first i was like:

What is this? Sounds as generic as Amon Amarth is.

But then i was like DUDE MAN AWESOME.

Even for Amon Amarth - This is good.

  • Power and glory to the old gods of the north. My biggest wish in life is really to live like a viking. and die like a viking. FIght for glory and a spot in Odins Army and fight along with them all shoulder to shoulder. die in battle for what youre beliving in. there sint any greater glory in life

  • yeah!!! i love johan hegg

  • my football team was trying to decide which song to walk out to and we chose this over guardians of asgaard, my personal choice was guardians of asgaard but there isnt a song by amon amarth that isnt kick ass

  • Comment removed

  • i think the thing is that they don´t just want to make money(of course too but i don´t think it´s their primary target), but to make real fucking great musik and i really believe in that^^.

  • Comment removed

  • At first i thought " wow these arctives sound really gay "

but then that part at 0:57 came

  • THIS SONG IS EPIC, gives me shivers every time i hear it

  • please don`t talk about the christian fake religion wich stole EVERYTHING from pagan religions like aegypt or german/celts.

This "religion" is a pure lie and don`t ask why the pobe is a freemason like you see on his fishhat and the fact that the vatican supported 3rd reich and much more.

Its a lie, there is no religion named "christianity"

  • But Hel doesn't set Balder free becouse Loki doesn't mourn his death, he changed himself into a giant named Thökk (german name for him) becouse he don't want the other gods know that he want that balder stays with hel (Sorry for my bad english)

  • @AbelStefan Loki is always such a motherfucker that he must have been christian for sure.

  • Comment removed

  • @Nacionarg Naw man, naw. Loki was a massive troll.
