  • Four people were born in the 00s.

  • I blare this while driving.

  • Greatest. Sonic. Song. Ever.

Seriously, this was my first video game ever and I played it so often that my Mom actually had this one memorized

  • You should do more videos like this.

  • Nice song, nigga.

  • i remeber this!i got sonic collection for gamecube, and remember playin this!

  • Is this the level with the water rising? Geez, that was a tough level.

  • @WildTopazCoyote i only got past that once XD

  • I would play the new Sonic games if the music wasn't full of stupid singing. This right here, this is the way it should be. NO SINGING!

  • @pikminpicker Its all about rap and techno these days, in the 90's it was a bout rock and metal, guitar riffs. Fuck this new age shit.

  • @DimitriVHefley WTF are you talking about don't you know 90's rap? Besides it could still be rock on top but 90% of new rock sucks and most of the new rap sucks and techno? really? House music is usually popular in clubs and it's fine but you won't hear it on the radio often. Seriously stop pulling facts out of your ass

  • @gologabob dude youre a fucking idiot, we are talking about the NINETIES!!!!!! not today, and yes, i hate todays rap, i hate todays metal, it all sucks, but back in the early nineties game music was about composure and metal and rock, not todays crackdown games where its all about rap and hip hop, FUCK HIP HOP, FUCK RAP!!!! ALL OF IT!!! AND FUCK YOU TO IF YOU LIKE IT!!!!

  • @DimitriVHefley I'm sorry if you can't express yourself and then insult me for commenting on what you typed. You said in the 90's it was all about rock and metal and that is a false statement you are pulling out of you're ass so don't come calling me an idiot. after the 80's rock died and so did metal. Metal became todays screamo and it sucks. 90's was about Gangsta Rap Hipe hop Old Skool, Punk. You clearly cannot read correctly either don't respond you're an idiot loaded with Bullshit.

  • @gologabob Go learn an instrument you brain dead piece of shit.

  • @DimitriVHefley I can play drums and guitar but even soo those that make me a better person? no? If I play an instrument or not are you still a fucking moron? Yes. Say what you like but your a youtube troll getting mad because you like to anounce false statements to the world but you got denied. You suck at being a Troll

  • @gologabob LOL im the troll? sure buddy. i doubt you play ANY fucking instrument, you like rap and hip hop LOL what rap artist plays an instrument? hardly any if at all. lol what statement got denied? all cartoon shows in the early nineties had GUITAR ROCK THEMES!!! ninja turtles, power rangers, the xmen. you my friend are a pussy follower with no mind of your own, keep listening to your jungle music.

  • @DimitriVHefley Did I say I like rap or hip hop? no I just posted facts that arn't pulled from my ass like you saying what dominated during the time period I'v never talked about my passions in music except for how most of the new age stuff is bad. Again you keep telling me what I like. I think I'm able to take care of that part myself. Just because I say this and that dominated the stage during this time period dosn't me that I loved it. Unlike you I don't use facts when it suits me.

  • @gologabob LOL some of the biggest metal albums of all time came out in the nineties, The Black Album, Rust in Peace, Countdown to Extinction just to name a few. Im pretty sure it was in the nineties that Metallica became the biggest band on the planet. fuck rap. fuck hip hop, fuck r n b. fuck that shit and fuck you if you cant acknowledge metals influence on the nineties.

  • @DimitriVHefley Besides for metallica and old stuff like iron maiden metal is usually the less skilled version of Rock. Check out Guthrie Govan - Fives On youtube you could argue hes the best. And try reading comments properly instead of jumping to insults simply because some one has different taste of music. You said earlier alot of people jump on the band wagon for shit like lady gaga (and yes she sucks) but some people also jumped on the metallica band wagon and for them it wasn't the best.

  • @gologabob What rock band is better than Megadeth? More skilled? I love old school rock its what got me into guitar but there are no rock bands more "skilled" than guys like Chris Poland, or Marty Friedman or guys like Yngwie or Paul Gilbert, George Lynch, Alex Skolnick. Lynyrd Skynyrd is my favorite "classic rock" band so...

  • @DimitriVHefley Joe Satriani, Eric Johnson, Eddie Van halen, Jeff Beck, Jimi Hendrix, Steve vai, Guthrie govan. This is what I get from the top of my head but I know more still I find this should suffice. I didn't put bands like you asked because you added guitarists yourself and some of these guys are playing with unknown bands/solo or bands wearing their name.

  • @gologabob Jimi hendrix, overrated, joe satch, overrated, eddie vh, overrated, the rest are good and if anything underrated. joe satchs tapping is good and he has extensive knowledge, but hes still overrated.

  • I would agree except to joe satriani. Plus he showed steve vai how to play.

  • @gologabob He also gave lessons to kirk hammett and alex skolnick

  • @pikminpicker YES techno for the win.

  • Hate the music the best they ever used was live and learn

  • great vid!!

  • Very good song.

  • ahahahahaha! i remember playing this and i was always humminh along to this music, it was sooo cool, but slightly hard when it got to the part where the watter go hight and higher and YOU had to get sonic higher and higher.

My made up lyrics:(intro)...................................................... you gotta keep moving, you justgotta keep moving and beat that nasty egg man x2

Keep moving moving beat that nast egg man, keep moving and beat that nasty man x2

  • Why the hell does it need lyrics? Not to stymy your creativity, but most on these here internets would have criticised you in a far more vitriol-filled way.

  • wtf! sonic music at 131? that is B.S.!

Michael Jackson helped make the music for Sonic 2. Bet you didnt know that. I shouldnt have to say anymore about the quality of this music.

If Turtles in Time Neon night riders isnt in the top 10 i may stop watching. Karins theme from SFA3 and rolls theme from marvel vs capcom 1 both should be in the top 30 im my opinion .

  • Actually Michael jackson only helped with the Sonic 3 & Knuckles music. Sonic 1 and 2 were done by a composer in the japanese Pop Ground "Sweet Dreams" you can tell especially by compared the classic green hill zone to one of their songs. Perfect match. The ending to sonic 2 is actually right from their song "sweet sweet sweet"

If you type "sonic 2 real ending" and click the 1st video you should be able to tell the melody right away.

MJ's music does rock though he did a great job on S3&k.

  • Yeah, I don't think that's true. And considering that Michael Jackson actually 'wrote' very few of his own songs, why should we care if it was true?

  • I like the music from the Mystic Cave level. It is so funky.

  • Classic!!!

  • sonic n megaman had the best music ever

  • This sounds like a 80s New Order song, it was the Sega style back then.

  • oh the nostalgia! My first game ever!

  • i like lava reef and ice cap zone

  • I would've put Sonic 1 green hill zone lol, but nonetheless sonic should be in this list, nice choice

  • you better put some of sonic and legend of zelda on your top 28 because otherwise this is a biased top list....they should all be called YOUR top 150 not THE top 150 if that is the case

  • Oil Ocean ; D

  • METROPOLIS ZONE!

  • Wasn't that the Chemical Plant Zone???

  • yup. Weirdest level in the game. And coolest. Only level that I remember that had a stage that you could beat without hitting any of the checkpoints.

  • btw, my favorite part of the song starts at around 0:41 (just that part alone makes me want to dust off my sega genesis)

  • So many memories brought back by this song alone lol...I love it...

  • Starlight Zone owns every other sonic tune. ...And that's that. ;)

  • I think the track on Sonic and Knuckles lava reef zone ROCKS!!

  • Great choice. This and the final stage of sonic 3 are my favorite old school sonic songs.

  • I say Metropolis Zone is better.

And the Storm Eagle theme from Megaman X.

  • Cyber peacock theme is > storm eagle.

  • Emerald hill is awesome!

  • I'd never thought I'd miss the 90s, but things seemed so much better than.

  • @bbenjers yep.

  • Nostalgia

  • i miss my kid days...(tear)

  • Spring Yard Zone from Sonic 1 was the absolute best ever

  • Greeeeeat!!! It's so electro, hehehe!

  • Not my favorite song in the game, but i like it :3

  • My dad remember that.

  • i knew chemical plant had to make this list

  • greenhill's better

  • I remenber this! freak music!

  • OH YEAH the best sonic theme of all time no other song can beat that I be crazy each and every time I listen that old school classic
