u people honestly need a wwf history lesson. first the road warriors were formed way before demolition, second vince wanted a heel team that was as good as the road warriors which backfired, third if ur that dumb to think the road warriors were a copy of demolition ur wrong read the first part. and fourth when the road warriors found out what the wwf did they told vince to have his so called team meet the road warriors in the ring and demolition lost each time

Vince imploded the monster team he had built in Demolition to get the services of the Road Warriors in the WWF. Im sure it was part of their contract that they wanted to take over Demolition's spot as the #1 tag team in the WWF at the time. The signs are all there: Took away their killer theme music, changed the team around from 2 to 3 then back to 2, turned them heel when they were over like GODS as face? Vince screwed Demolition when he should have let the fans decide who was better.

@SimplyXxXWild: in the road warriors' defence they didn't reach the apex of their short wwf career until mid 1991...rising to #1 contendors in june or july by winning a battle royal on snme, then winning the titles at summerslam in msg from not demolition but the nasty boys. 5 months they held the belts, then were forced to drop them to a new team (money inc). shortly after wrestlemania viii in the spring of '92 they had vanished from the wwf...(incidentally before both smash and crush left)

The Legion of Doom were just amazing. They weren't the best workers but they had EVERYTHING else. Big muscles on super-athletic physiques, an awesome and (at the time) original gimmick...cut kid-friendly interviews ("We bury every gerbil-faced stinkweed we face!") that still sounded super-threatening...and had an unbelievable finisher with an awesome name ("The Doomsday Device"). They could go head-to-head with Hogan and the Ultimate Warrior and NOBODY thought it was a mismatch. Legendary.

I went and saw LOD & Ultimate Warrior against Demolition in MSG back in 1990 and all I could think was, I wish this match had taken place without Crush or Warrior. And with a healthy Ax. By then, Bill Eadie aka Ax and Mcmahon had their falling out and there was no way Vince was gonna let Demolition win. It's a shame. Because as good as The Road Warriors were, Ax & Smash deserved to kick some ass in their own backyard. Afterall they defined tag team greatness in the wwf.
