I will honestly say that this does not bode well for Marvel. Give it time, Disney will ruin it soon enough... The only reason Kingdom Hearts did well and was good was because Square Enix KEPT the right to the Final Fantasy characters.

Well Warner did make Batman more kid friendly in the mid 1990's with Batman Forever (which I liked and still do, mostly for Jim Carey and Nicole Kidman) and BATMAN AND ROBIN. But they sort of double taked when B&R Tanked at the box office and fixed it with Begins and Dark Knight.
I don't think Disney will change anything really, all they do is own the company so they get the profits. Like you said Time Warner owns DC and they didn't make Batman super-kid friendly. I do wonder what's gonna happen to Universal Studios (theme park) and Disneyland though.
I think the smoking ban is commendable... you have to understand that kids as well as adults read these books and that although an adult can say "haha wolverines smoking his healing factor cancels out the affects lol" a young kid might say "wolverine smokes and wolverine is cool, so i should try smoking"

Well heres the deal there will not be any lawsuits, because Marvel has a ton of legally binding contracts with other studios, that means that they can make movies they already have contracts with, but they cannot make any future contracts with companies that are not disney, but there will not be any legal issues for Xmen origins and shit!

I actually skipped One More Day. But from what I understand everybody forgot that Peter Parker is Spiderman. To me it was like why do that after you reveal him in Civil War. It makes that whole moment pointless. You can't really write Spiderman with his identity being known, but Marvel made their decision and they should have stuck by it longer.

Before you make comments like this, actually read the articles, Marvel is still going to carry out all the contracts they made before teh Buyout, which means Spidey 4 and 5 will still be made with Sony, and all other Marvel Movies will be made with the respective companies they are contracted with!

Things are supposed to feel different and at the same time feel to form. Plus Electro as the son of the Skull came to happen because Electro was suposed to be written differently in a live action movie that got scrapped so The TAS Writer had to come up with diff concepts for villains but the movie from someone else fell through and the TAS writer was not going to erase his work so placed it in Electro.

Hey Magus, since Marvel is now owned by Disney. Do you think it'll effect Universal for copyright issues? If you've been to Universal Orlando at Islands of Adventure, they do have a theme park area devoted to marvel comics.
If Disney now owns Marvel, then that's mean we won't be seeing any theme park rides at Universal Orlando anymore. Well the good thing is that Marvel finally gets their own parent company, just like when WB brought DC.
Spiderman's "One More Day" was one of the worst things to happen in comics in the last few years. Marvel went through so much effore to make Spiderman's identiy public in Civil War, and we were assured that things had change for good, and then Spiderman makes a deal with the Devil so that now, no one, not even the Venom Symbiote knows who spiderman is.
I just herd this. All I can think of is how Disney might react to Marvel's copyright. Disney is really uptight there so...idk how that's gonna effect Marvel's characters.

Marvel has been going downhill for a long time now. The only good things that come out from Marvel are either rehashes of their old stories or things that just have the Marvel name on them. Don't know what people are so worried about. The most disney will do is place adverts in the marvel comics. The only annoying thing will be seeing commercials and trailers or whatever along side marvel products.
I don't think Marvel would have sold out unless they were in trouble, so if anything, Marvel is using Disney to save them.

Well heres the deal there will not be any lawsuits, because Marvel has a ton of legally binding contracts with other studios, that means that they can make movies they already have contracts with, but they cannot make any future contracts with companies that are not disney, but there will not be any legal issues for Xmen origins and shit!

I actually skipped One More Day. But from what I understand everybody forgot that Peter Parker is Spiderman. To me it was like why do that after you reveal him in Civil War. It makes that whole moment pointless. You can't really write Spiderman with his identity being known, but Marvel made their decision and they should have stuck by it longer.

Ok Disney, what's next on the list for you to get, the TWILIGHT series? Cause you took one of my favorite Comic Companies and made it worst. Cause I can see how they can censor stuff out (like blood, gore, violence) and also then make the movie franchise into, like, 14 MOVIES and such. Damn, were screwed.

Calm down, your jsut jumping the gun like alot of people, Disney while owning Marvel will keep it as a Several Brand, also read about the Movies, Marvel has a ton of Contracts with other studios and directors for movies, and they are going to keep those contracts so read before you jump to conclusions!

About the Twilight thing, I thought, since they have been getting popular, that Disney would take the Twilight series and screwed us over. Before you make comments like this, actually read the articles, Marvel is still going to carry out all the contracts they made before teh Buyout, which means Spidey 4 and 5 will still be made with Sony, and all other Marvel Movies will be made with the respective companies they are contracted with!

That's good. I thought that Disney was gonna pull the plug on all the movies and also fire the directors (like Sam Rami) and actors (Toby Mcquire and Robert Downy Jr.) and then sue them for alot of money for the fact that most of the movies were not made by Disney.

I like old Disney, but the new one...just flat-out sucks.
I'm a huge fan of Marvel, especially X-Men...and hearing that the NEW Disney wants to buy this brand...just...plain...suuuuuckssss...AAARRRGH!

I heard about this.. and I am seriously worried! Marvel and I have had a little falling out recently, the comics are a lot thinner, and have a lot less content than they did when I was a kid.. but they were just getting back on track! I don't imagine disney are gonna stay on that track :(

Disney is a major conglomerate and own alot of things including EA games, which released Army of two under their ownership. I mean they even have their name Obscurley, but have their name in some pretty gruesome horror movies as well, they buy things that make money, Disney may be more for the kids, but they also own alot of more gruesome or adult type of things

Things are supposed to feel different and at the same time feel to form. Plus Electro as the son of the Skull came to happen because Electro was suposed to be written differently in a live action movie that got scrapped so The TAS Writer had to come up with diff concepts for villains but the movie from someone else fell through and the TAS writer was not going to erase his work so placed it in Electro.

Besides there were 2 Electros in the series. The Russian guy and the Max Dilion incarnation from the Spider-Man 2001 Enter Electro video game same continuity.
As for the continuity i mean look at the Ultimate Universe BEFORE Jeph LOEB fuckd it up. things are diff there but everyone likes it
Im not trying to say i believe in things from the past but to me each new series is suppsoed to be better than the last and to say Spectac Spidey is that great wouldnt be adequate in well Its ur opin thou.

Th 616 SpiderMan is Fucked up for me thanks to Brand New Day. I read the books still because i dont want to be so bias after Spider-Mans One More Day.

Hey Magus, since Marvel is now owned by Disney. Do you think it'll effect Universal for copyright issues? If you've been to Universal Orlando at Islands of Adventure, they do have a theme park area devoted to marvel comics.

Spiderman's "One More Day" was one of the worst things to happen in comics in the last few years. Marvel went through so much effore to make Spiderman's identiy public in Civil War, and we were assured that things had change for good, and then Spiderman makes a deal with the Devil so that now, no one, not even the Venom Symbiote knows who spiderman is.

Its really not a big deal imo, I think the only things that may play out is that Disney will now produce and distribute future marvel, and there might be a change in management, but I feel the direction will remain the same!
Remember too that DC is owned by Time Warner another huge company!

Warner has proven to be a company that is capable of producing mature titles. When was the last mature title produces by Disney? They will make it into a "family friendly" company. It isn't the fact that Marvel sold out to a big company. It is the fact they sold out to Disney.

Not really, most Tarantino films are released and are a disney owned. I will be honest with you, alot of Marvel has already been kidified already, and also I will admit Disney is good at keeping different brands seperate, such as Buena Vista seperate from Miramax and what not!
Now I am a big a fan of Lost, and imo, thats a great mature story and thats made by a Disney Owned story!

Marvel has been going downhill for a long time now. The only good things that come out from Marvel are either rehashes of their old stories or things that just have the Marvel name on them. Stan Lee won't be alive too much longer and when he dies all Marvel will die with him. Look at how much it has gone downhill with out him writing as is! I've moved away from Marvel for the most part. Indie comics are the way to go. Better art and stories. Oh and they can smoke lol. Good video Magus.
