  • is it just me or does the phone always say 7 megapixels instead of 8?

  • good review.

  • Thanks for the tasteful review. A couple of comments: MS Exchange mail account can be synced only two weeks back. Perhapse a coming update will remedy that and the glitches if the recent update didn't fix that already. Also worth knowing is that Nokia will support N9 until 2016, according to their Swedish customer support. So if you're not too worried about your apps investment, this phone will outlast most other phones both software- and hardware-wise. Looking at gsmarena.com, the N9 has the h

  • Trent which phone do u like the best? Xperia arc s or Samsung galaxy nexus or Nokia N9

  • The best review ever!

  • Finally got to catch up with your review Trent, very detailed and professional as usual, and can't really argue with you, still enjoying my N9, and hope to do so for a good while yet :) Glad you found time to do the Video, don't spread yourself too thin and forget your tech resposibilities :)

  • thanks for the review man

    bless bredren

  • you definitely deserve more views! btw good job with weight loss. boy, you are so slim now

  • Now this is how you display the sexy hot handset that is N9, and this is how you do the review. Welcome back. I can't wait to see what your thoughts would be about Lumia 800.

  • Trent what is that watch? Btw: you lost a lot of weight since the n900, looking great! Congrats brother! Cheers! :)

  • Incredible, in depth, professional quality review and editing! You've sure come a long way!

  • n8 is louder or this ?

  • always a pleasure to watch your videos , i tested a bit on vodafone the n9 end the start up was loooong my n8 starts faster

  • Beautiful device and can't wait until I get this device.I'm so sick of carrier phones and no uniqueness about them. Really don't need apps but a good browser and social clients.

  • Thanks for the great review. I disagree with your conclusion. I bought the N9 not because of Nokia, but because Meego is Linux. I have been running linux on my computers for years. Linux is modular and each software component is supported by a different community and will continue to be updated. All we needed from Nokia was hardware. Swipe belongs to Nokia but the base is linux. Thanks Nokia, we love the hardware. My wife and i love the our N9s. Continue doing great reviews.

  • Great review! What music is playing at 0:49 - 1:04?

  • The only things I don't like about this phone the fact that you can remove the back cover and there's no micro SD slot.

  • Almost exactly the same problems in the E7 ... Vedio freezing .. Bad web browser ... !!

  • @haaaaaaaaaaaaamza The web browser really is bad.... But video freezing? I've never experienced problems with the video playback...

  • @stefanstroe91 Sometimes I download movies on my E7 .. I want to watch them in the bus or on the plane ... It freezes almost in each 30 seconds

  • @haaaaaaaaaaaaamza Well, I don't know what to say... I did not had any problems with my Nokia E7... Maybe sometimes the processor seems to be a little bit too slow, but not that slow to have such problems as you...

  • Nokia Lumia 800 64GB please :)

  • I doubt Nokia will stop supporting the N9 anytime soon, The old N900 STILL gets updates.

  • I kike the new look of the review, because i am also getting interested in some small video editing. Keep it going, Trent, am waiting for your Note review.

  • Wonderful review Trent. I plan on picking up the Nokia 800 myself, I am pretty much sold on it. I am really excited for the future of Windows Phone, I think they can do it. Meego looks great, I still think Nokia could change their decision regarding it, but we'll see.

  • LOVED the review, but I think you misspoke when you described the OS. MeeGo is dead, but the N9 is not. MeeGo's components are independently updated, and the apps are Qt. Qt isn't going anywhere, and neither is GTK. This is Linux, and the components will be updated via other projects that feed to the runtime structure. THIS is the entire reason you use Linux, and the reason we all wanted it. Its future proof, just like the N900. It doesn't depend on Nokia or the OS. Its components are updated.

  • @christexaport Does that mean the N9 will have long term support from the community?

  • @blankets1453 Its LINUX. The components of the OS are maintained by others, not Nokia. This is the entire point of Linux in the first place. Its YOUR OS, not the manufacturer's. Do you actually think the Gstreamer, Telepathy, Empathy, and other components used in desktop Linux will all of a sudden be shuttered? NO. Just like the components of the N800 have stayed current, so too will the N9's. Anything Nokia ditches, there can be optional open versions. Cool, huh?

  • Starhub LOL - I'm using starhub now!

  • Nokia seems to be on the right track trying to find out who they are it was the same thing with the n900 big hype but it was DOA great review Trent

  • @DiogoDC123 N900 community is STILL vibrant, and Maemo.org still busy. Far from DOA. Its still the first and best phone for Google Voice, Skype Video calls, and more. Who said it was dead?? Elop? LOL

  • @christexaport no no i was referring to how nokia hyped the shit out of it then went oh nvm were dropping th eplatform even though its a badass phone

  • @DiogoDC123 that was ok, from a Linux point of view. If they never make another device, so what? It won't stop the OS from growning. Remember, Linux is just a collection of parts people donated, and most of those parts are NOT from Nokia. In fact, only Qt is from Nokia, and we KNOW that won't stop being updated anytime soon.

  • BTW, whatup, Diogo? Just realized it was you, with your hating self. :P We will agree on something one day, I'm sure. LOL

  • Meego goes the way of WebOS. Looks neat, but it still suffers from freezing and force closes like Android. If it was at least as smooth as WP7/iOS, I think it would be decent.

Btw, Trent, are you planning to get the Galaxy Nexus? I have the ATT GS2, but seeing reviews on ICS, I really want the Nexus.

  • @pyeclam remember, this is early firmware. And the device will become more efficient as time goes on, because the firmware isn't the OS. Each OS component is updated constantly, and VERY quickly, to keep things going. BTW, WP7 and iOS are so stutter free because they DON'T ALLOW REAL MULTITASKING.

  • I must say, you give the best Electronic reviews on youtube, easily.

  • @sj31418 he aight. :P Love ya, Trent.

  • @sj31418 well said.

  • Definitely worth the wait to see your take on the N9!
