  • It seems strange that there seems to be many more Mk1 and Mk2 Cortinas surviving than later ones, with the Mk4 being by far the rarest.

  • My first was a teal blue Mk2 NOK306F 1300cc,engine was too small really but it got me thru my driving test and i loved that motor..loved the video btw :)

  • Sorry for being a bit daft, but the cars in the first part of the video were Lotus Cortina? I thought that there was a difference between the Lotus' and the Fords.but I dont know what the diff is. I like both, but I always associate the Lotus Cortina with racing. Nice video. I like the timeline over it;s production life.

  • we americans missed out on the 3rd gen because the idiots in dearborn decided to replace it with a rolling incendiary known as the pinto

  • anyone know what year car at 1;15 ??? Thx in advance.

  • My first car was a mk 2 1300 deluxe VGY 946G, then I had a mk 2 Lotus Cortina PAN 964E, Then I had a 1600E HPX 432H.

All lovely cars, lots of very happy memories, 1982-1986.

  • if anyone is selling one plz let me know

  • i love the mk2 i had 20 of them when i was younger, best one was 1600gt, i did a 0 to 60 test in 8 sec which was very good for a car that age, considering some modern cars with bigger engines are slower

  • 1:59 really want that!

  • My mate had a Lotus MK2 and it was fecking fast!

  • Tuve 2 modelos: Tipo SW y tipo sedan.

  • They are truly awesome cars!

  • Pretty rally trophy red @ 0:45 ;)

  • Nice tribute, I had 4 mk 2 Cortina's 1300Deluxe, 1600GT, 1600E, and The ultimate, a Lotus Twin Cam. Happy times, the 1600E was best, wish I still had one now!!

  • Good video.I love the one at 2:20 done up like Mad Max. Brilliant

  • this car has the same thing as our last name

  • My favourite car of all time. I have owned four, still have one, a mark 5

  • Nice compilation Fordman. Could u answer this. Was there ever factory colors on MK2 with red car and yellow or gold stripes ? Maybe the Lotus type. Or was they all white and green ?

Reason i ask is I have seen more than 1 with those colors. (Pardon my English, since i'm Norwegian ) :)

  • What a beauty at 1.04

  • The Cortina name should have been kept for it's Mazda 626 badge engineered replacement for Australia.Telstar just does not sound the same

  • Love the MK1 and MK2, don't fancy the MK3 that much :(

  • The mark 3 was also a great cortina with the 2 litre engine though

  • Maybe, i think the MK3 GXL is quite nice to look at.

But my fav is the Mk2 1600E.

  • Yeah your right of course i used to dream of owning one cheers man

  • ;) Cheers. I'm sitting here 'ruining' a good Cognac with Sprite :)

  • Good on ya im enjoying a Jim Beam with coke and many beers . when the cats away the mice always play an she will be none the wiser ha ha

  • They are truly awesome cars!

  • Someone should do one of these but using a Ford Sierra,Ford Telstar or Ford Mondeo.

  • In Australia I was replaced with The Telstar.

  • Fantastic Cars. During 1978-1985 I had several 1600e's, a Lotus Twin Cam a 1500GT and two pucker Savage Cortina's which at the time was the dogs dangly bits.Great memories and amazing to see the Harris Family still building some of the UK's quickest Fords - 11 sec MK1 Escorts!

  • Best car ever!! I used to have one in the police force.
