We have guys that live in the ditches near where I live that there is enough foliage to hide them . Because they can fish , pick mushrooms, oregon grape , blackberrys . clams ,oysters,geoduck. Then beg at the intersections.

That strip along the highway where you were asking about people living in the forest...there are ALOT of homeless people living in those trees and also underneath the highways. There is a long train tunnel under Seattle that also have many people living in it. I've heard numbers, it's hard to believe, but thousands of people down there. I kind of doubt that myself.

More people used to live in Walmart parking lots when they had an open policy towards the traveling RV crowd. Now you have to get an overnight permit from customer service to stay in their lots. The "homeless" RV crowd are very resourceful at finding places to park. There will be many more of these "homeless" over the next few years.
