wow never thought of doing that with that science. heat from the light bulb causes air to heat and rise. This in turn creates a convection current of air coming from the top of the lamp back down to the bottom, and out the top again. Put a spiral (little mass would be more effective, I.E. paper) and you have a nice "perpetual spiral". Classic science experiment, usually used with a candle instead of a light bulb though.
