  • This presentation guy is the most adorable human being of all time He should be President of the United States.

  • man, you got me pumped up, i need to try this on my ipad!

  • do you use the apogee's phones out for monitoring, or you use the ipad's output ??? And what is your opinion, can I use the apogee's output in a good quality for live sessions? I mean if I use my logic sounds live in a concert is it good quality?

  • Can I install reasons on my iPad 2 plz anyone help me how do I do it

  • any chance the gospel keyboard sound sets will work with garage band through the IPad?

  • Hey Jamal Do you feel anything regarding to Latency? i mean using the Ipad Bacause I do when i use controllers on my pc. even using ASIO4ALL . Do u have any recomendation for me Brother? Thanks man.

  • I spoke w/ Apogee concerning the input switching inability using an IPad. The idea of redesigning the ONE's knob function came out of our conversation and the tech is going to discuss this w/ Apogee engineers. Please email them in support of this revision so we can fully use the ONE w/ an ipad. Users asking for it may enable the revision.

    Thank you

  • @Websmartgroup What would the knob do when connected to the iPad?

  • @GospelMusicians -the knob would switch the ONE's inputs standalone, without having to attach it to a MAC running the Maestro utility.to do this. Hopefully, Apogee will see the wisdom of this very easy hardware change. Please let them know you would like to see it also.

  • pretty music @12:56!!!

  • Thanks. I'm learning.

  • Hey dat axiom pro you have there how is it

  • Just wanted to say thankyou for a terrific demo and great playing skills. Great video. Also nice to see a person who doesn't feel the need to use expletives to articulate themselves on YouTube. Excellent musician and human being.

  • The sound call " Thats when you bless me , L.A Mass ??? Whats the chords

  • so could i plug the ipad 2 into my mox8 and play the instrumets of off the ipad on my mox8?

  • @AwesomeMan2696 You use your MOX8 as a controller to send MIDI to the iPad. I never tried it, but the iPad should be able to send MIDI back out to your MOX8 as well.

  • This is way cool. I lug a 50 lb Alesis around and just got an iPad2 as a gift. MAN! With a LIGHT midi controller and the iPad (and the connectors) that'd be SO sick.

    VERY cool.

  • Be fast and win iPad 2: goo.gl\8ONjl

  • Thanks for making this! I have the Apogee ONE, and am planning to get the iPad 2. Would I be able to record both vocals from the internal mic as well as keys through midi?

  • Is the audio out coming back through the Apogee One?

  • Can you assign controllers? for volume and effects tweaking...

  • happy bro for a good motive

  • I'm looking for a lightweight keys because I'm tired of carrying my Roland Fantom G7 in a heavy case. Is an ipad2 + garageband, SampleWiz or other apps a better solution for playing live then (for ex.) Roland Juno Di? Is it works with quick changing patches during play?

  • I'm waiting for " IRig Midi" from IkMultimedia for ipad and iphone. Due out around Sept 6 from ikmultimedia.

Can't post link here but go there and see what you think.

    Hope this helps

  • would this work with a apogee duet

  • Oh my! HP (Hewlett Packard) is backing out of the Touch Pad concept? The iPad2 has presented itself as the #1 contender in computer technology because of its practicality, versatility, and durability. And not to mention that there are over 90,000 Apps available for

  • @GospelMusicians there are products (music production) for the iPad 2 that don't require the camera connection kit, like the iRig Mic and the iRig MIDI. Or you can get the Alesis iO Dock, which is AWESOME.

  • What's the USB power source again? The one that supplies power to Apogee you mentioned? Thanks!

  • So, after experimenting a little, I found that I don't have to junk my 20+ year old DX21. I've been using it as a controller for several components in my studio set up. it has the midi in-out-thru connectors. After watching the video, I thought, what would happen if I just connected my DX21 to the iPad2 via the camera connection kit, using just a simple PC to Music Keyboard USB MIDI Cable Converter? Well, guess what, my old DX21 is back in action and remains a viable controller for my iPad2. Th

  • i have a soultion for you to get stereo out

  • Does anyone know if the polyphony on the GarageBand app is decent? Like say 128, I know it's wishful thinking but been hearing a lot about polyphony issues with this app.

  • 10:58 I get that same sound on my NORD Electro 3.

  • Shoutout to that beautiful Motif ES6!

  • I DJ Gospel House music and I am wondering if you have any advice for recording my live mixes onto the Ipad2. Enjoyed the video =)

  • How do you connect your i pad to the speakers??

  • Does garage band work on iPad one

  • Does the Apogee One have a MIDI input? Can I connect my roland keyboard to it?

    Thanks in advance

  • as it is called the keyboard under the other?

  • so does everything work? line input, mic input, line output, phantom power? what doesn't work if anything?

  • Oh and my sustain pedal acts as a foot switch for the lesie effect

  • Great vid. So you're saying, to get apogee one to work w iPad 2, you need the USB camera adapter and a power source? Could you recommend a power source? You said kinsington or something? Thanks!

  • Yo Jamal, got the Ipad2 and with camera kit tried it out in a live setting and IT WORKS! I was nervous about using it but it worked well. Now I’m no way near ya’lls standard of playing or knowledge of DAWs but in my humble opinion it was pretty impressive. Created a couple of drums loops as tracks and flicked between them while using the piano and organ. The sound equality was like the first time I ever heard a Rhodes in high quality stereo. Awesome. Anyone else used their iPad live?

  • wats the name of the keys that been connected to the ipad2???

  • @rockjazzacademy Axiom Pro 61

  • Hey,"Big Problem Here!!!"

I was wonderin if apogee one is great for recording "Rap Song" (I saw ur Duet!!!LOL,but it's too expensive to me)

Cause i can't find anyone use this to recordin Hip Hop but only "Acoustic Song"

    Can U upload a rap demo recording by One,please & thankQ !!!!!

  • @kingrool0311 It shouldn't matter. All you want from your interface is a clean, high quality signal. Your effects on your DAW will add the grit.

  • dude what's the name of the keys ur playing?

  • @rockjazzacademy Axiom Pro 61

  • Does all sounds come from the Garageband ? :p

  • @deinbeat1 Yes

  • hey apogee duet is now USB! just saying

  • Yo man! how about midi drums, like a Roland Vdrum into the ipad through midi?

  • Comment removed

  • Hello! Thanks for a informative film. I have a question: How did you do to make the external mic to work. I can only use the internal mic in Apogee one.

    Please help!!

  • @Santelius I think it has something to do with the phantom power. I don't think you can use phantom power. Try turning that off.

  • @Santelius

To enable the external mic connection on the Apogee ONE you need to connect ONE to a Mac and set the input source to the external mic using Apogee Maestro, the software that comes with ONE, then connect the ONE to the iPad and you should be good to go. Remember if you are using a mic that requires phantom power to turn that on as well while in Maestro.

    Hope this helps.

  • Oh my, sweet. My old trusty Yamaha DGX500 of 7years got stolen the other week from the back of our van, I'm looking to buy another keyboard again, but having seen this I'm thinking hmm, 88key controller + ipad and I've got all I need. Seems workable no? I'm gonna have to do this!!!

  • so these sounds are coming out of garage band???

  • @JfiredUP Yep

  • Hi there was wondering

If you could tell me how to read a midi file that I just downloaded off of the Internet

Can the motif read midi files? And open it on there so that we cab alter I around on the motif?

  • @MotifXF8 Motif can read the MIDI file if it's a SMF (Standard MIDI File). You can load it and it should load the corresponding General MIDI files. Import the file into your USB stick and import it into your song.

  • You're such a lively presenter - really easy to listen to/watch!

  • @themadgamer Thanks :)

  • Will any type of USB hub work? Or do you need that particular Kensington hub?

  • @alphabet380 Not sure...Haven't tested any others.

  • Get the Apogee Jam audio interface made specifically for the iPad2. You get a quarter inch input. The Jam goes straight into the iPad 2's 32-pin connector. You don't have to worry about power and all the other stuff. Doesn't have midi but it is a great way to bring live sounds into the iPad. Check it out.

  • @bibble4shizzle I'm going for the Alesis when it comes out.

  • @GospelMusicians - The Alesis dock is really nice but ONLY works with the iPad 1. Because it is a sliding connection and the dock connections differ from the iPad1 and 2, you will not be able to use your 2.

  • @bibble4shizzle I take that back. On Sweetwaters' website, they are taking pre-orders and claim it works with either 1 or 2. Not sure how they accomplish that so I am contacting Alesis directly. Next big problem is they keep pushing the release date.

  • @bibble4shizzle Actually the Alesis iO Dock does work for the iPad 2 based on their website.

  • Can i use these features on ipad 1?

  • @SuperJAHDIEL It is suppose to work on iPad1, but we have not tested it.

  • will the ipad midi run thru the motif

  • @nerdherd03 we just confirmed that the USB works with the Motif ES and XS by plugging directly into.

  • Hey brotha,

What kind of speakers & speaker stands do you have there?

  • Man! I upload a video with the ONE + iPad just 4 days before you lol... so less talk more music hahaha (joke)

TIP: you can connect the MIDI keyboard and the ApogeeOne to same HUB at the same time, and then the HUB into CCK and the iPad should recognize both.

And them, you get MIDI keyboards with apogee quality sound + volume knob control! terrific!

    regards

  • Yes it all works on the iPad 1 ...... It just works faster on the iPad 2

  • so are these the same sounds that you use on your motif for like worship on sundays?

  • @AwesomeMan2696 Yes, because I have the ability to make my own Sounds and samples for the iPad GarageBand.

  • does it work with ipad 1?

  • Thanks, man!

    Quality!

  • Yes all you have to do is go to utility and set your motif's midi to USB and it works great. Also there are other apps that support midi as well like korg ms20 app ( nice fat custom synth) and for backing tracks I use " multitrack daw" to play back full 24 track audio sessions on stage.

  • This video is awesome...Can you please do a video that demonstrates how to connect everything?, also if I am just playing the sounds from the iPad 2 with a midi controller do I still need the apogee one?

  • My motif xs works great with garage band on the iPad.

  • @craigkeys4 You mean you plug your Motif XS's MIDI right into the iPad and MIDI works?

  • This IS cool.

  • You should try the Alesis IODOCK...it looks a little more promising. Alot more options. It has its own power & its a little less bulky. Midi in, 2 Audio Ins, Audio Outs, Video Out... This is everything you need for your Worship Service.

  • this is an awesome video... your channel is a gold mine for aspiring musicians like me to learn about stuff like this. thanks a lot!!

  • can you break down the chords (left/right hand) you used on 16:24 . They are sweet. Thanks man!

  • I FEEL LIKE PREACHIN RIGHT NOWWWWW!!! LOLOL!!!

  • thank you !!!!!!!!

  • Hey Man.. GREAT VIDEO....>

My question is.. i have a fast track pro from m-audio do you think that it could work?

    Cheers

  • Are you using the headphone jack for audio output?

  • @onkytonkman Nope, playing audio out from the Apogee One!

  • I probably should have been more specific - sorry.

When you are using the midi input, what audio output are you using? OR does the Apogee One have midi input/audio output?

  • @onkytonkman Audio output from the Apogee One. Using MIDI through the Keyboard controller. The Apogee One and the MIDI controller are connected through a powered USB hub.

  • @GospelMusicians AAhhh - USB hub - That makes sense now!

Great video - Given me heaps of idea's! Thanks heaps for your replies too.

  • Awesome!!!!!

  • One of my favorite things about the Motif is the ability to easily layer sounds, plus it has tonnes of factory loaded pads and I believe its also expandable. It seems like you still need both. The Macbook and Ipad plus a good Motif workstation.

  • I recently just connected my Yamaha MO8 to my Macbook Pro via USB and sampled the sounds from garage band. It did have some clean crisp sounds. I guess it would be more cost effective to buy an Ipad or a Macbook and a midi controller then just buying a Motif or another top of the line synth. Plus you could start recording your playing and also play backing tracks. That being said though the I dont see the professional musician fully stepping away from the synth just yet.

  • What in Jesus name are those chord progressions at the beginning of the video doc?!?!?! lol whew lawd!

  • SO why there is no USB on that iPAD yet?? well they want to get you next year with iPad 3.

01:55 The term is" plug and play"

    God Bless

  • Biscally the hubs is working as a splitter/power supply.

  • Does it works with Ipad 1 ?

  • DAYYUMMM.. sweeeeet.. thats the stuff

  • DAYYUMMM.. sweeeeet.. thats the stuff

  • Your best bet is using Nano studio because it is backwards compatible, there is a free version for the the pc/mac and of course the one for your iphone/ipad it has some great instruments and works with core MIDI (USB),. Also look out for the Alesis Studio dock which has built-in XLR AND TRS PORTS phantom power direct guitar port video out, a complete workstation, which is a great alternative to the Apogee.

  • @teacee Nano Studio looks nice and I have my eyes on the Alesis Studio Dock. The question now is: Does the Alesis Studio Dock support the new thin iPad 2? Will it fit? I didn't know it had video out too. That's awesome. I'm waiting for Apple to release an SDK for AU instruments for iPad, then it's a wrap!

  • @GospelMusicians Yes, according to alesis dot com/iodock ipad and ipad 2 will fit. I agree that when when Apple implements the AU ability via the ipad, will be an awesome feature.

  • You look like a kid in a candy store!!! Hahaha.

  • "you download a driver, you download firmware, that's a whole different ball game" LOL :D awesome stuff!

  • Dang, I Want an iPad 2 and an Apogee One now! There should be a giveaway.

  • Can you do layered sounds on the iPad?? Or does it have to be just 1 sound at a time?

  • @jamestakeshi Can't layer unfortunately :(

  • USB Compliant=Plug and Play

  • duet wouldn't work cause it's firewire. but this is still awesome, might change out a macbook pro in the future for an iPad 3 :P

  • @ma0fille I know...I got too excited. I forgot it was Firewire. I have to put a note there.

  • That is sweet, krazie intro there bro.

  • @Krazie316 You like them chords :)

  • What Church do you attend?

  • @mrmanchild25 Majestic Life in Orlando FL, Pastor Riva Tims

  • love it #dontjudgeme #ipad2hereicome

  • whats up mann, are you lookn for any new musical talent other than gospel, i mean i make rnb beats, and pop techno and hiphop, whats up with some collabos, have you ever used fl studio 9, but thanks for your time let me know something asap

  • Really Cool!

  • @GospelMusicians Hey gotta question for you, i don't know if you use logic, but i purchased your neo soul package, and i went to guitar center and bought a sustain pedal, but when i use the pedal the notes don't sustain correctly, and if they do, the only time it will do it is after it loops once, If possible can you please tell me how to fix this issue thank you.
