What kind of idiot would pick a windy day to record something like this? And who's the nervous Nelly that keeps brushing the microphone up against his polyester pants? This video is a travesty and should be thrown in the garbage.

Just to clear the issue up, a GT40 was NOT used for sound dubbing in the movie "Bullitt"!. Many people have believed this myth for years. It was indeed the sound of a GT390 with straight pipes (the "second" movie car) with enhanced audio that bolstered the sound. A GT40 sounds nothing like a street car in any form. It makes a high pitched whining sound, like a race car should.

i have an 08 bullitt and it sounds great with stock exhaust however im in to a louder sound so i went with the slp loidmouths best set up to go with the moded H pipe

i've heard it in person and to be honest ford could've done better if you're paying an extra 3k for that package. but hey whatever floats your boat man

i think 3k is quite reasonable for a slightly better suspension package, custom black rims, 15 extra horsepower an upgraded cold air intake, the special horseless grill, the diamond plate dashboard, the upgraded shifter, and the upgraded exhaust that gives you a sound more like the original Bullitt mustang. it would cost you more than 3k to upgrade it yourself. not to mention its a bit more exclusive.

Don't forget the differential, the only other Mustang that shares it is the GT500KR, and in 2010 the top-line trac-pac.

It's much more than just 3.73 gears.

i thought the trac-pac was getting something totally new. o well, as it is right now its serving its purpose in spades.

Much of the trac pac is new, suspension wheels etc. As far as I know there will be two versions of trac pac. The more extensive version includes that rear end assy with the special bearings gears carbon fibre clutches etc.

The trac pac II will have the GT500KR/Bullitt rear assy.

Trac pac I only has 3.73 gear set. It has Bullitt brake pads.

I'm not entitely sure of the cost.

Pissed? not at all..its what we do. Buy the car, start rippin off crap and putting on superior parts...My GT/CS would drown-out your Bullitt's junk pipes. Plus It's faster, so I guess ur the one who might be a bit disgruntled.

Aww, what's the matter? Pissed off because you had to rip off your stock CS exhaust to get a real sound? I'm throwing an X-Pipe on it. I'm leaving the muffler and tips. The tips are GT500KR tips and the muffler helps it to sound like the GT40 that was used to overdub the sound of the GT390 they used for the movie...

I've heard the bullit in person and honestly its not much diff from a gt mustang, hot sound just not very impressive beacause a reg gt sounds as good.

@RawAutos the bullitt exhaust does sound a lot better than the stock gt, by far. but it's just too quiet, i had to throw some boom tubers up there to make that baby scream!!!! love my bullitt though, sexiet mustang ever created

I strongly disagree. Listen to the Bullitt in person and tell me that. The GT-H is dull by comparison. I've driven it, and I wasn't impressed. Plus, it's an automatic...

to hell with the GT-H, shelby tells you they did stuff to the exhaust, but in reality they didn't. it doesnt sound any different to me. i always liked the more Raw sound of the bullit, but lets be real here...the shelby GT500's exhaust blows the doors of any factory mustang, including Roush and the bullitt. but then again it is $15 000 more expensive than a mustang GT.

Are you serious? Unfortunately this video is a bad representation of the actual sound, but I assure you, it is amazingly mean and loud. I bought this exact car a few weeks back, and already I've had 5 girls tell me the exhaust sound alone make them wet.

What kind of car do you drive? Did you know, since you are a Mopar man, I would hope that you knew, that the Challenger in the movie "Vanishing Point" used the exhaust sound from from the Ford GT40 from the movie "Bullitt"?

It's funny that you say that. I was showing my friend your comment and I told him that your comment sounded like what a typical F-150 owner would say about using Flowmasters... Nothing against them. My grandfather has them on his F-150. But, I will not put them on a Bullitt Mustang. And I haven't heard of anyone else that would.

Please go to your local Ford dealer and take a listen to the Bullitt in person. Hell, drive it if you can.
