My next bass will be an LB20F with J99A's (single coils) at the neck and bridge -- or so I thought until I saw this. I have to ask: what are the differences with an extended scale length on a fretless? I never considered that.

I love Tribal Tech. I have everything of theirs and I mean everything including rare videos. I miss them not playing anymore. I have to throw Steve Smith's group "Vital Information" into the discussion. Great band in it's various incarnations.Great job on the bass by the way. I have an XB76PF with fret lines and I kind of wish I had gotten it without lines like yours. You play much better than I do and I guess if I did not have the lines I would play even worse maybe.!!!!Keep up the good work

Hmm.. Tribal Tech, Ill have to check em out. They remind me of the Ripingtons, based solely on this video.

Thanks, man. I'm a huge fan, but don't meet many others who even know who they are. Easily one of the top 5 best jazz fusion groups of all time.

Top 3, IMO, beaten out only by Weather Report and Return to Forever. I prefer Tribal to the Chick Corea Elektric Band, even.

How hard is it to play a fretless?

When I first got it everything I played was out of tune, lol. It takes some practice. Steve Bailey's video, Fretless Bass has a lot of great exercises. I'm still not perfect, but I'm working on it.
