  • On the other hand... he clearly omitted the repeated line at 4:08 because he tired himself out over the course of a single aria.

  • He does a great job, this is such a difficult cabaletta.

  • Yeah... nice..! Beautiful voice buddy..! Give em' hell..! BRAVO..!

  • Fantastic! The voice recalls the young Carreras :))))

    Survive until at last!!

  • he reminds me of Carreras at his first years.one of the best tenors today.bravissimo!

  • Fabiano sounds like Fabiano and n one else, the others squandered their voices at a very early age.

  • Bien!

  • i played hockey with his younger bro dan fabiano in minneapolis

  • I couldn't stop myself from tearing up at the end. What a thrilling voice and performance, amazing

  • great job michael! sounding good!

  • molto modesto anzi modestissimo quasi scandaloso

  • He is the best young tenor to appear these days. Heard his Duke in Rigoletto at ENO and he wasn't anything less than brilliant. Very "old school" singing which is what we're needing these days that everyone is trying to sound eastern-european. Bravo!

  • @barleggero I'm not agueing I just want to know what do you menn by eastern european soung. Please give me examples.

    Sincerely

    Enrico

  • BRAVISIMO BRAVO,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

  • Wow, he is much better than James Valenti, who I saw last Sunday in Traviata at Covent Garden. Nice looks, but such a dull voice.

  • @mrrk He is good, but he's not better than Valenti, IMO. This is perhaps not a good recording to judge him by, as his singing seems to lack subtlety. And his acting is wooden; I expect that will improve with experience.

  • Love his dynamic phrasing. Great lyric-spinto voice and creative. He knows how to sing bel canto repertory.

  • A great lyric-spinto voice... I just realised that Verdi reused the Ah si ben mio cadence at 2:40.

  • @phatphace I know what you mean! I half expected Di Quella Pira to start at 2:40

  • When I hear the usual B.S. about how "all the great tenors are dead, blah blah blah" I laugh in their face. Keep rocking.

  • Yes Michael, WORK! He lived across the hall from me our freshman year at Michigan :)

  • @jimbobwaay He went to the U of Michigan? wow

  • His voice reminds me of the young Carerras and the young Di Stefano. Bravo!

  • Me too. That's why some people worry for his voice...

    But damn he can sing!

  • @ciociosan yeah and if he doesn't learn to narrow through the passaggio he'll sound like the young Carerras and Di Stefano too! Michael keep working hard! We love you!

  • @g4thz since when were the voices of Carreras and di Stefano bad. These men were two of the greatest tenors in the 20th century.

  • @operabeauty I'm sure he was referring to the fact that neither of them lasted very long, or at least that their later efforts weren't up to the standard set by their earlier, superior performances.

  • @operabeauty great voices which arent in question, just poor technique which ruined them and cut the careers short thats probably what the other person meant.

  • A gorgeous voice and he can act as well as sing! And good-looking, on top of it all.

    I think I'm in love...

  • Beautiful singing...and he sings the cabaletta with a high C! I thought Michael said he didn't have one. As sbjbound so aptly put it: " Sounds like he found his high C." Indeed you have Michael. Good luck to a great new singer, and, a great new ARTIST!

  • I saw him in the documentary, The Auditions. It was funny because he doubted himself to be one of the winners. After seeing the documentary, I chuckled and said that it would be an injustice if he didn't win! He was the one who sounded so Italian in terms of singing opera and a great, promising lyric tenor sound.

  • Charismatic, intense, talented, histrionic. He has a beautiful voice, with a special color. He is going to be great. I can see his immensity emerging throughout the uncontained but yet precise passion of this reborn Alfredo. He lives on stage; it seems to me that it is there where he comes close to a state of happiness. This man is a blessing for the Opera and the fans.

  • Good job. This music is better suited to his voice than some of his other selections viewed and heard. He muscles the voice less here than I've heard before. My wish is for him to have good vocal guidance: better than that demonstrated for the Met Finals of 2007.

  • Sounds like he found his high "C". And a pretty damn good one!

  • @sbjbound I remember that from the Met documentary he was like "Its NOT AT ALL!" I wanted to slap him for is being in denial ;D

  • @sbjbound I'm confused...I think I heard an A flat, or are you just talking in general?

  • i would love to train but have no outlet

  • What a world-class voice from such a young artist! I'm astonished and delighted, but mostly I can't wait to see Mr. Fabiano singing in a major role. Truly one of the best voices I've heard in years. And to think he's not yet even at his vocal peak!

  • El Jefe translation: Dallas Clark is a keeper....is a keeeeeeeper...(repeating)

  • Bravissimo!!! Gorgeous voice!!!
