  • Bravo to the Real News! My youngest son found you guys. Now I watch it all the time. I am getting to the point where I don't watch mainstream news anymore. You guys remind me of the CBC when it was a trustworthy news outlet, years ago. I stopped watching the CBC after I saw two dreadful interviews--one in which Peter Mansbridge was sarcastic and rude to Stephan Dion, and another interview, where Evan Solomon was combative and disrespectful towards Noam Chomsky. That was enough.

  • Hidden hand (illuminati). Moving to DC (Devil's Cauldron). Good luck.

  • sorry man i'm broke

  • ron PAUL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • this is important. if we do not take on the military industrial complex they will perpetrate more fraud upon the public. flu shots and even the flu itself will cause false positives on the hiv test according to a 2006 New England Journal of Medicine report. please pray for all those who have been misdiagnosed with hiv and AIDS. support the real news.

  • UL is very prestigious. Many retail chains won't accept electronics if that haven't been certified by UL. That's how a free market could regulate itself.

  • That is no example of magical self regulation. Many industries have standards organisations(alot of which is due to regulation), but that doesn't make capitalism less crisis prone, or mean that capitalism provides for democratic institutions.

  • most of the "standard organizations" are because of government imposed regulations but rather they are set because they are the best way to satisfy customer needs. Sure capitalism isn't perfect but it is far better than any other system and the government doesn't have a magical one size fit all solution like it pretends to have at least with capitalism you can choose. I really could care less about democratic institutions since most people are stupid and under our constitution govt can't .

  • First sentence is incoherent. Second sentence straw-mans all opposition to capitalism as state-socialism. Third sentence reveals the Ayn-Rand-ish/Social Darwinist logic inherent in all "free market" fantasies.

  • Thanks, I meant to insert *not before because in the first sentence. Call it what you will. I don't like any government intervention in the economic exchanges of free individuals rich or poor. The third sentence may have sounded like a Rand-ish rant, for this I apologize since I don't really like Rand. What I was trying to get at was democratic regulation would be just as tyrannical as bureaucratic regulation. ex: What is to stop tyrannous majorities from banning porn or strip clubs?

  • the so called "de-regulation" of the Regean years wasn't really de-regulation at all it was more regulation to benefit the corporations. If it were real de-regulation the playing field would be even for entrepreneurs. And if govt weren't involved at all in the markets, except to enforce contracts and deal with fraud, there would be no incentive for the corporations to send their lobbyists.

  • neo con$ = isreal lobby + defense industry

  • yup, unrestricted free markets lead to concentration of power which is always a danger to any system, a very successful corporation can do insider trades, bribe politicians, hire economic hit men, suppress competition aso., its the fires of capitalism which have to be guarded well

  • wrong. concentrations of power occur when politicians regulate for the benefit of one company over competitors. thats what happened in the gilded era. in free markets competitors will always arise to create better products and push down the prices of products due to competition.

  • By the way it is called The Gilded Age not "era"; and it was a historically recognized period of Laissez Faire capitalism. It was not regulations that built Rockefellers wealth, but the lack of them that saw him get kick backs, manipulate the market and force out any attempt to organize labor. Later, he did everything he could to fight them and eventually manipulate them as well.

  • The world is run by the most genocidal, greedy criminals the masses have ever known.

The people have allowed this to happen. The huge majority have "gone along".

THEIR "laws" are tricks, written in their favor & THEIR courts are bought & paid for.

There are over 6 MILLION "laws" in the US alone.

Society MUST rewrite the laws, simplfy them, make them TRULY JUST!

Next, the people must PROSECUTE the criminals involved in the destruction of freedom.

    Arrest, prosecute & isolate them!

  • can you report on the people who own the federal reserve

  • free markets regulate themselves. Human greed is in check because in a true free market you dont have inflation like we do today. Therefore you dont have a safety net created by central banking. Is it ok for government to use force and give your money to another group? Is it ok for a minority to control the majority or for the majority to over power a minority? Where do you draw the line? We need laws to protect the individual and restrain the power of governments.

  • Free markets regulate themselves? - They foster greed! Human greed in check because of markets? - LMAO. Totally counter intuitive.

However, the philosophical questions you pose are valid; but organized society has been struggling with them from their existence. Recognize though; that free markets have never solved them, even in antiquity. I'm not going to get into the banking thing either, we both don't like them, but I know I wouldn't agree why, its not worth it.

  • Many people are greedy but not all of them rich. only those who provide the best product to their customers get rich. If they violate contracts or steal from their investors there are already laws in place for theft and fraud, accounting regulations are not necessary to stop it, in fact these regulations hamper economic growth.

  • (1/3)

Three months to come back with a generalized line of BS? Ha... Wake up; it's a bad time to be deregulatory. It's the wonderful deregulated financial markets that helped put us where we are today.

  • (2/3)

    Your "free-market" is a myth. Markets are created, they are artificial constructs, and naturally will seek regulation. A black market starts as a "free-market" but it is quickly taken over by the mafia or it is legitimized and regulated by the gov't. So, it is not a case of IF a market is regulated, but by and for whom. It can either be regulated by the people for their benefit as in socialism;

  • (3/3)

or by the business interests in general, although not exclusively, through the gov't, as is happening now; or it can be regulated by the large capitalists directly as the libertarian "free-marketers" wish. So by directly taking over that function of gov't the large capitalists then by default become the gov't, and an unanswerable one at that. That is real the form of gov't that Libertarianism leads to, a marriage of the capitalist interests and gov't, there's a name for it too you know.

  • Gee, a time when wealthy interest and government were the same thing? Did it start with an f and rhyme with fuedalism?

  • sure. Underwriters laboratory is an example of free market regulation that is neither burdensome to emerging business and protects consumers. They are way more successful than the FDA or govt' regulatory agencies. Many times govt writes regulations to benefit big corporations because they have enough money to send lobbyist to lobby for it so they can have advantages over their competition.

  • This is true. Also central banking only works in a socialized society and it is because of central banking that we are in the problems we face today.

  • I want news and not commercials! What's up with this?!!!!

  • giv the guy a break will you...he has to advertise somehow.

    thanks to youtube they're survivng

and now with youtube live, we may see some changes.

  • Personally, I have no problem with Iran. I do not fear them. If they do develope nukes, I think it would be for one reason only. To keep bullies like the US from invading them. It is the reason so many nations want nukes. Not to use them, but to prevent invation. These days nukes sadly are the only way to be sure your sovereignty is honnored by the rest of the world. That said, I don't like nukes, or nuclear power. I also know Iran is more interested in Mid East peace than US.

  • You better be careful with all that carefully thought out logic... you know they don't like us THINKING. ;)

    Nice comment. Fully agree.

  • Globel warming is fake!

  • yes global warming is tax fraud.

  • so that makes making renewable energy not neccessary! wow everything is solved now! thank you so much

  • Same as the others !!! i have no job.

  • I'll certainly make it a point to donate as soon as I get a livable wage.

  • agreed

  • meh, watch it before you judge, they had ron paul on multiple times, they even had members of the heritage foundation ...

  • i saw the Ron Paul one but not the heritage foundation one. even if they did though it is clear that the RNN thinks that the progressives are right and try to mitigate capitalism at every turn when they know full well that we have not had capitalism in a long time. this is crony capitalism.

  • sorry but i really cant remember any time when they took stance against capitalism in general, its mainly news, they didnt debate systems (so far), i dont think they are anywhere near a general anti-capitalism stance

btw. crony capitalism is capitalism as well :P

  • wrong. Crony capitalism is using government to gain an unfair advantage over your competitors or if govt. officials who used to be part of a company gives them subsidies. In real free-market capitalism there is no subsidies to anybody, there is no tariffs that boost one comp. over another and there is no regulation to keep corporations on top and small entrepreneurs suffering. that is the distinction RNN, Naomi Klein and you don't understand.

  • Libertarians are the worst brand of rightist. Their idea of freedom is the market. A market for freedom means that only those who can afford it are truly free. Libertarians are the new ultra-right hidden in the alluring prose of democracy. But it is a democracy few can afford. It is the libertarian camp that wants all of our public assets destroyed, they are the radical privatizes who carry on the Neocon mantra while denying it. Those who believe govt doesnt work have no reason to be in it.

  • lol you don't run for office and say. "hEy I am bad at my jonb. don't trust me to do it right. lets put it in the hands of a few corporations."

XD Pretty much man. You are one of the few people who get it. Do not join hands with libertarians. They're a bunch of idiots who want feudalism back. I tell you most Americans won't take that!!

  • Libertarians like me hate democracy because in a democracy ignorant people like you vote away the rights of others just look at CA. Libertarians would love not to be in the govt. but govt. forces them to be a part of it everywhere in the world. And to say that libertarians are like neo-cons is stupid. Neo-cons have they're roots in trotsky and leftist philosophy. They love the welfare state.

  • Its so nice to hear some one speak the way I think. You could not have said it better!

By the comment below its easy to see some one does not understand the true meaning of liberty.

  • Libertarian = Stateless-Neocon

Just like a Libertarian not to know right from left. It is unfortunate that in a democracy we must listen to you, but that is democracy. Don't give me that Democracy/Republic crap, I have an education, it won't fly here. Check out what your free market is doing to Columbia. Bad time to be a Libertarian huh?

  • Don't be a fool, under a libertarian system you still have laws to protect the individual, and to restrain the powers of government. Im glad you have an education. Thanks for telling me.

Socialism has failed and it always will. It only creates shortages.

  • haha - look who is creating the shortages. Most of the world is capitalist and most of the word is hungry and poor. More of a capitalist free market means more hunger and more poverty. Socialism is inevitable, we will either have it rationally and politically or in the collective nature of the grave brought about by climate change and capitalist greed.

  • Show me one example of a capitalist free market. There are none... the US economy is centrally regulated via the federal reserve, and the money isn't even real - it's a fiat currency which a few oligarchs print whatever amount they need to prop up useless firms, and credit is withdrawn from firms they want to destroy. It IS the centrally planned socialism you seek - run by people who don't give a fuck about the people (as all socialist systems eventually are) ...so quit your bitching.

  • (sigh)I get so tired this. What you have insultingly called socialism is a form of capitalism known as crony capitalism, or in essence, a form of modern economic feudalism. It has nothing to do with socialism and is really an end result of less and less regulation in capitalist system that is also advocated by your libertarian principles. Try printing your own money if you don't like the stuff going around. Thats free market; Go for it. "Don't take no wooden nickels." - A free market saying

  • I call it what it is. And if you think the US is an unregulated economy, with a government that works to reduce coercive force and fraud, your are completely asleep.

I would go to jail trying to pass my own currency... because it's NOT A FREE MARKET. Government force punishing nonviolent choices of people.

  • I dont claim that the US govt reduces force or fraud, I am a proud socialist. Remember? I shout that the libertarian system is worse! We are at opposite ends of the spectrum and can never agree on this. But I do wish you well for turkey day.

  • Also, for a functioning democracy every one must be an intellectual. This is not the case in any human society.

  • maybe but even if people were geniuses they have no right to delegate force and coercion on others through an elected leader.

  • If you follow politics, sociology, and economics you will relies that economics has the biggest effect on our life, weather you like it or not. Classical liberals aka libertarians believe in freedom, this includes economic freedom. We all know that a true free market is affordable for everyone. Capitalism is the best system in a society. You cant talk about any of this without talking about the monetary system so why am I even getting started.

    peace.

  • I do not accept that there is a seprate field called economics. Ecomonics is part of politics. It is the unavoidable political atmosphere that effects the economic atmosphere that in turn effects ones life. So it is politics that effects one life the most. Life is politics.

Socialism is the best system in a society. You can't talk about this without first knowing history, so why am I getting starting.

  • Well actually if you look at socialism you will notice that it has failed throughout history and let me ask you why countries under a partially socialized system are slowly going to more privatization?

If you want to think that economics is part of politics I wont disagree. However It is a very large part of politics. Economics is a science. You have to let markets work. If you want to discuss this more I would love to. Send me a utube email.

  • Economics is not a science, and markets don't "work". Countries turn to libertarian policies when the elites push it, they have the money and the power. When the people get fed up with it, and they wake up, they revolt and put in a socialist system.

How's Columbia going. Good work, now we can get another ally for Hugo and Evo. Good work, you continue to weave the rope which which you will hang.

  • "Economics is not a science"

lol... It's the study of how people make choices to satisfy their needs - it is a human behavioral science, and anti-freedom propagandists' worst nightmare.

Where did you get this "education"? A brainwashing camp?

  • Two collages, three degrees, Magna cum Laude, current history teacher, (love teaching your children by the way) and what about you?

Even though I am in the Social Science Dept. I can't say that even history follows purely scientific principles, for we can not recreate experiments, control groups ect... What you describe is a classical definition of psychology, not economics. Check Maslow.

  • That definition is quoted from my economics textbook...

...your professors must have been propagandists like your self, not educators.

  • That is why economics is not a separate field. It can not be descrided without using another field of reference, psychological behavioralism in this case.

  • if you truly knew history you would know what a failure socialism is.

  • also, there is not much point having corporate free media if they go to the corporate funded think tanks (of any leaning) if you try and cut our money then you tend to cut out the views supported by that money...i dont think that is socialist but it certainly wone be what you call right wing in the us.

  • Ofcourse it doesn't. For two simple reasons = the other media cover the "free-market" and think tank point of view, this is a voice that stands out among hundreds of clone-outlets. Workers and unionists are interested in social democratic and progressive points of view. Am I wrong?

  • yup, in reality the majority of people are interested in it, simply because its in their interest, try to get a majority for abolishing social security, its only democratic..

the main purpose of think tanks is to provide biased unscientific "analysis" for media and politics, they are basically private propaganda machines, you want to hear as little as possible from them

unfortunatly some of them yield influence so its not completely unreasonable to have them represented

  • Private propaganda machines I like that, thank you. And since it is the capitalists that have the money, it is they that are manipulating the information fed to most of the people. Most of the think tanks, or at least most of the influential ones, are right wing. Their purpose is to come up with "facts" to support an already arrived at conclusion. I have to laugh at ferrozm, "we have not had capitalism in a very long time" Man I hate libertarians. So deluded yet so loud.

  • yup, righteous king concept, "our system is perfect if only the right people are in charge", libertarians argue that we never had real free markets just as communists would say we never had real communism, the susceptibility of a system to corruption and misuse mustnt be excluded from the equation

  • I'll start donating once I get a job.

  • Yeah, no kidding.

  • Same here :(

  • That statement really doesn't make much sense at all. If it was up to me all workers would unite and take over the establishment but that aint gonna hapen. The point of this channel is to scrutinize power and not to be either centrist or leftist liberal. What would be the point of that?

  • They scrutinize power as a liberal leftist channel, could they be more obvious? NO. I gotta admit that some of their ideas are good, but they have to tell the other side of the story too.

  • Well why should they? Every other channel, paper and so forth speaks for the other side. That's why they even created this channel, to be a forum for different ideas. Does Fox News cover unionist issues? Does CNN cover activism?

  • IM not talking about WHAT THEY COVER, I'm talking about HOW THEY cover the news. Instead of being a centralist, a FAIR news channel, They are being like Msnbc. A completely unfair channel leading towards the left. ( ANd Im not saying the should lead towards the right). THey should be fair and balance covering the news.

  • how is it unfair?

  • jauanmisimo: can you be more specific? What other side are you talking about? Do you want positive puff pieces about Monsanto or perhaps Exxon/Mobile? Would you like to see a dramatic expose about the economic collapse which shows how CEOs are just people, too; and this crisis may mean that instead of buying a Hummer for their teen this Christmas they may have to get them a Lexus because it gets better gas mileage? Maybe a piece about how labor laws are bad for corporate profits & dividends?

  • Im gonna give you an example: Evo morales video. He is a socialist, and they were praising him. They were comparing him with Obama. But you don't know that Evo commanded an army to kill 35 civilians. You don't know how Evo got to power, do you? He got to power by blocking streets, manipulating people, and doing riots. And I don't understand why the hell this news stations portray him as a hero, or indirectly as Obama. That is just one example, and I can give you more. This channel isWithTHE left

  • well until people like you tell your "conservative" right-wing to tell the other side then....

  • I hope this works its too good to loose.

  • It's already working :) Just keep it alive with donations
