i love it how you can let your boy just run around the backyard and know that he'll stay close to his girlies! that is what ours does... when they have their 'grass time' and cages are being cleaned. pgs are really just the best of pets!
brilliant runs... i have guinea-pogs myself, 7 of them and they love the grass.. i leave my shed open and i let them run around the back garden, when they get too hot they hop into the shed.. i also put some food dishes and water dishes in the garden.. i also put some hides incase of them having heat stokes!
AWESOME!~ We currently have only 6 piggers now, but will expand the population soon. Have had up to about 30 at one time (we foster) Our piggers and buns go outside DAILY to eat fresh grass, dandelions, clover ect & for fresh air and a larger area to run around in. Some of our buns have tie outs, so to allow them more ways to stretch those strong back legs. Currently have10 adult/juvenile buns & 10 kits aged 3 weeks & 1 1/2 weeks. 3 female piggers are gestating.
You have got some good runs their and I like the custon made one using the C&C square grids but when the guinea pigs are in their run they need something to do. You need to put some hide-aways, tunnels and balls for them to play with to keep them entertained. Also you need to cover the top of the run otherwise another animal or a bird could come in and hurt the guinea pigs.
your pig is like mine loves outside time and loves eating the grass!!!!!!!! i usaly take mine outide early in the morning like 5 o clock that way they dont get to hot and still have lots of energy by the time they are done playing outside btw how lond do u keep yours out? i keep mine out like an hour or an half hour! and btw i love your white pig she or he is sooooooo frekin cute!
he's so funny..he's out of his cage and messing with all his friends and family! Its so cute how him being free, the only thing he thinks about is visiting everyone he knows..
@coppab Everyone has common sense except for the people posting the vids .. it seems. pigan84 does have a very valid point. Your answer seems to concede that pigan84 may be correct.
@coppab I think what you have here is awesome, However, I agree I would put a large box or something for cover from larger birds this is from personal experience with my rabbit. But I do love the play areas you offer.
Beautiful piggies. I wish I had a yard so I could give my 6 nice grass time like that, I have to settle for running around the house free time for my babies. Beautiful set up
umm I don't have a pool? You might be looking at the rainwater tank and that can't hurt anything. Thanks for the concern but my pigs are fine and I know what is and isn't good for them.
I thought you had a cute video (starring Tosca! What a handsome devil!) I was just concerned to see the one group of sows so close to what looked like a pool pump? They can get damp and catch sickness so easily. I'm really not trying to sound like I'm nagging. Overall a nice video though:)
ummmmmmmmm one escaped...

Just be sure the grass hasn't been treated with pesticides, weed killers, etc. That stuff can hurt or kill GPs. Very cute GPs!

It is so funny how Tosca waddles around to all his ladies. Guinea pigs are such little loves, and I can tell you take wonderful care of them.

i think they have places to hide!!!
33GunieaSqueak 3 years ago
piggies need something to hide.... because they are frightened of hungry animals ;) so why don´t you put some huts in the area??

well, everyone knows that guinea pigs are flight animals. so its logical that they need huts etc. ;)

If you are going to comment speak english please.
Are you silly enough to think that's where they live?
They are having grass time (clearly in the SHADE) while I clean out there cage.
Please don't confuse me with someone who knows nothing about cavy welfare.

yh they can but u have to put them in a hutch
devilshaun123 3 years ago
its not a wise idea.
Since guinea pigs are prone to heat strokes
and if it rains then they'll get sick
You have to be really careful

Thanks, just want to point out it's not a pigs farm, they are my pets getting grass time in my backyard.
Mozzies do bite them but it doesn't bother them.
They produce beans! Which then fertilizes the yard.
coppab 3 years ago
Pretty cool pig farm - what do they produce besides sqeeks?
Protruth506 4 years ago
Tosca is the lucky one; getting to run free, in the yard! The others seem to be happy though. What a set-up???

Is he a male...is that why he is separated? Or is he/she just extra special?
