thats cool, pretty similar to what we did... using a table for the frame - but we used a smaller coffee table in addition to the big table and put big thick hooks to attach it to the main pen and turned it into a nesting box. I did find that the two chickens we have (Daffodil and Henrietta) got hot this summer so I temporarily and dodgily 'insulated' the roof and put a second piece of corrigated metal over the top.

Hey, I forgot to tell you Chicken poop is great for your compost pile. Please build a roost for your chickens, they need it and your compost pile will grow anything.

Great video! What you are building will make a great coop. Chickens are so easy. I know some people who have used a cab of an old rusted out pickup truck. They just need plenty of water, food and basic shelter. I am going to try to make a poultry video today. Hopefully you get some good tips from it. I am not an expert but I love to help people where I can. If nothing else I hope you find it entertaining. I have been a fan of your videos for a while now and would love to get your feedback.

this coop will only house 2-3 chickens and will be in all day shade, its also going to be about 2ft taller so about 5 all up with roosts, i'm building the bigger one for when the rest come, its about 6ft tall with approx 9 sqr mtr floor space, i should have said all this in the video, lol. im also getting a rooster to keep the flock in some sort of order.

oh, make sure you get a roster. He will keep the hens save and they will be happier. :P

I hope this is just the starter house for chicks cuz if you get more than 6 chickens, that house is too small. and they like to Roost - as in rooster - they like to be up off the ground to sleep - it's safer. They poop a lot - at least fill the bottom with straw. And you need a nest box - or two so they don't just lay eggs where they shit.

The corregated metal won't be too hot if you slap a quick coat of white paint on it to reflect the sun. It'll do fine. :)

Hey good luck with the chickens, I always wanted 3 in our garden, but we have a bird and we've had a real ongoing problem with rats and mice, they come for the seed you see.
